Chapter 92 – GOY 92
#92
I had never once seen him eat at the cafeteria.
“Have you ever had cup noodles?”
“Yes. I have.”
He spoke with a gentle expression. But for some reason, I couldn’t believe him. There was no way a kid who wouldn’t even eat chicken nuggets had tried cup noodles.
“Let’s just order delivery.”
I wondered if it was okay to suggest delivery food to an Obsessive Madman, but it seemed better than cup noodles.
“Delivery is allowed?”
“Yeah. We just order and pick it up at the main gate.”
Since this was technically a military academy, access for outsiders was restricted. That’s why we had to go to the main gate to receive delivery food.
“What do you want? Should we get sushi?”
Among delivery options, sushi was the only menu item that seemed fitting for an Obsessive Madman.
“What do you usually eat, Seonbae?”
“Me? I like chicken.”
“You like chicken?”
“Yeah.”
“Then I want chicken too.”
His eyes curved into a soft smile. He seemed to be in a good mood for some reason. He had been radiating a cold aura since Friday, so this was a relief.
However, another concern arose.
Chicken for Joo Seung-hyuk… How should I order it?
If it were just me, one chicken would be enough. In fact, I’d usually have leftovers for the next day.
But if I’m eating with Joo Seung-hyuk, should I order three? No. Seung-hyeok isn’t a glutton, so two should be plenty.
And what about the menu? Should I go with the basic? Or try a new menu item?
Something called ‘Bling Bling Shining Chicken’ piqued my curiosity, but it didn’t seem like a good choice to eat with Joo Seung-hyuk.
Would Joo Seung-hyuk prefer fried?
“Seung-hyuk-ah, which one do you want?”
When I showed him the smartphone screen with the menu, Joo Seung-hyuk answered without hesitation.
“Fried, please.”
I figured as much.
“Got it.”
Then should I get fried for Joo Seung-hyuk and Bling Bling Shining for myself?
The pink strawberry-flavored seasoning supposedly contained special flakes that popped in your mouth with every bite.
I was curious about what it tasted like, but no matter how I looked at it, it was too experimental of a menu to eat with Joo Seung-hyuk.
I played it safe and ordered fried and seasoned chicken. Since I couldn’t imagine Joo Seung-hyuk wearing plastic gloves and tearing into a chicken leg, I chose boneless for the chicken.
“They say it’ll be here in 30 minutes.”
Perhaps because dinner time had slightly passed, the estimated arrival time was faster than expected.
“Then when do we leave?”
“The shop will call when the delivery starts. We can head to the main gate then.”
“I understand.”
Joo Seung-hyuk hugged me again. It seemed he intended to stick to me all day today.
“By the way, Hyung…”
“Yeah?”
“Aren’t you going to use the card I gave you?”
“Huh?”
“When will you use it?”
“…….”
“I wonder when you’ll actually use it.”
Joo Seung-hyuk had been quiet since he gave me the card. He didn’t say anything even if I didn’t spend the money he provided. But lately, he had been mentioning it often.
Does he know that I’m almost out of money?
As I remained silent, Joo Seung-hyuk whispered low in my ear.
“Should I create a reason for you to use it?”
A chilling cold swept through my entire body, making me shiver.
“Haha. I’ll, I’ll use it later.”
I laughed awkwardly. Joo Seung-hyuk didn’t seem satisfied with my answer, but he didn’t say anything more.
A sudden, awkward silence descended. I looked back into my book, pretending to study, but I couldn’t concentrate. Just then, the chicken shop called.
“Ah, yes. Thank you. I’m coming out now.”
I quickly answered the phone and then told Joo Seung-hyuk.
“The shop said the delivery has started. I’ll go get the chicken.”
“I’ll go with you.”
“It’s okay. Chicken isn’t that heavy. I can go by myself.”
“Then come back safely.”
“Yeah. I’ll be right back.”
When I reached the main gate, I saw several students. Everyone seemed to be waiting for delivery drivers. A lot of people order food even at this hour.
Now that I had finally escaped Joo Seung-hyuk’s embrace, the words Park Geon-woo had said came back to me.
He said Joo Seung-hyuk was hiding something from me. Joo Seung-hyuk didn’t deny it. Instead, he fired mana at Park Geon-woo as if to shut him up.
That probably meant Joo Seung-hyuk knew exactly what Park Geon-woo was trying to say.
What on earth could it be? Could it be a letter?
No. If it were that, I don’t think Joo Seung-hyuk would try to block it so desperately. Moreover, Park Geon-woo seemed completely unaware that Joo Seung-hyuk had intercepted our letters…
Should I ask Park Geon-woo directly?
I looked at my phone. Come to think of it, I didn’t even have Park Geon-woo’s number… Even if I did, I was too scared of Joo Seung-hyuk to call.
If I were caught contacting him, I wasn’t confident I could handle the fallout.
I couldn’t find an answer. I sighed and checked the time.
‘It’s taking too long…’
Twenty minutes had passed since the call, but the delivery hadn’t arrived.
Just as I was debating whether to call the shop, I saw a delivery motorcycle.
“I’m sorry. I’m very late, right? There was an accident up ahead, so I had to take a detour.”
“No, it’s okay. But was there an accident?”
“Yes. It looks like a car hit a person. It was a total mess.”
How on earth do you drive to hit a person? Was it drunk driving?
I looked in the direction the delivery driver pointed. But nothing was visible from here.
“Sorry. You waited a long time, right? The delivery person said they took a detour because of an accident up ahead.”
“It’s okay.”
Joo Seung-hyuk smiled gently. Although it was late, he fortunately didn’t seem angry.
“You must be hungry, let’s eat.”
I placed the chicken boxes and cola on the folding table and took out bottled water from the fridge. I also brought some paper cups.
The visuals of the fried and seasoned chicken were fantastic today as well. Joo Seung-hyuk seemed to think so too.
I’m glad I went with this. If it had been Bling Bling Shining, a wrinkle might have formed on Joo Seung-hyuk’s smooth forehead.
“How is it? Is it good?”
“Yes.”
Joo Seung-hyuk, who had eaten the fried chicken, nodded. Fortunately, it seemed to suit his taste.
“Hyung, you eat too.”
“Yeah.”
I put some seasoned chicken in my mouth.
“By the way, it seems like there was a big traffic accident.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. They said a car hit a person. I hope they aren’t too badly hurt.”
“Hyung.”
He suddenly stared at me intently.
“What?”
“Hyung, is that tasty?”
“Yeah. It’s delicious. You try some too.”
“Feed me, Hyung.”
A strange curve formed at the corners of Joo Seung-hyuk’s mouth. He seemed to have absolutely no interest in the traffic accident.
“Alright.”
I put a piece of seasoned chicken into his mouth. Then, Joo Seung-hyuk gave a beaming smile.
Looking at him like this, he seemed like an ordinary twenty-year-old youth. But he was hiding something from me.
What could it be?
That question wouldn’t leave my mind.
When I entered the classroom, the atmosphere was chaotic.
Since it was the most difficult lecture among the second-year major subjects, I thought everyone would be studying frantically until the exam started.
However, everyone was gathered in small groups, preoccupied with chatting.
What on earth is going on?
“Hey, Lee Yeon-soo! Did you hear the news?”
Jeong Sang-cheol asked in a booming voice as soon as he saw me. I usually worried about what kind of nonsense he’d spout whenever he spoke to me, but today, I felt glad to see him.
Because in this classroom, he was the only person who would inform me, the biggest outcast, about the situation.
“What news?”
“I heard Park Geon-woo got into an accident.”
“What?”
“You didn’t know? It was a huge deal yesterday.”
“I was studying for the exam…”
Moreover, because Joo Seung-hyuk was right by my side, I had no time to check the news.
If I looked like I was playing even for a second, that guy would inevitably cling to me.
“Man, you really are a nerd. Why do you care about grades when you’re an S-Class? High-ranks like us are fought over even if we come in last.”
“…….”
I take back saying I was glad to see him. Nothing good ever happens when I’m involved with this guy. Ignoring his words, I asked about Park Geon-woo.
“What kind of accident?”
“They said there was a traffic accident right in front of here yesterday. It seems he was hit while crossing the crosswalk.”
The person injured in yesterday’s traffic accident was Park Geon-woo…?
“They said the bastard driving was at a level where his license should be revoked. They say he was drunk and hit him Read on Read BL Novelswhile the light was green, but honestly, I don’t believe it. That he happened to hit an S-Class Esper while drunk? And not just anyone, but the Hero of Savannah who just [Read on Read BL Novels]returned to the country? Does that make sense? Someone definitely did it on purpose.”
Jeong Sang-cheol argued a conspiracy theory without any evidence or logic. Normally, I would have ignored it, but this time, I couldn’t.
I recalled the events of yesterday.
Yesterday, Joo Seung-hyuk attacked Park Geon-woo. It contained such clear murderous intent that if Park Geon-woo hadn’t been an S-Class Esper, he would have died on the spot, unable to dodge the mana.
And last night, despite the fact that I brought the chicken late without any explanation, Joo Seung-hyuk didn’t show much of a reaction. Furthermore, he was excessively indifferent when I mentioned the traffic accident. He even changed the subject by asking me to feed him chicken.
Surely, Joo Seung-hyuk didn’t do something like that…?
My head was so full of thoughts about Joo Seung-hyuk and Park Geon-woo that I don’t even know how I did on the exam.
In the original story, Joo Seung-hyuk used to dispose of all the surrounding people who interfered with his confinement of Kim Joon. Therefore, there was a high possibility that he had someone deal with Park Geon-woo.
And if this assumption were true, it could be seen that Joo Seung-hyuk had begun preparations to confine me.
Just then, someone grabbed my shoulder.
“Mommy!”
I jumped and screamed in surprise.
“Hyung, why are you so surprised?”
Joo Seung-hyuk looked at me with an awkward face.
“Ah, sorry. I was just thinking.”
“Did the exam go well?”
“Yeah… But I think Seonbae Park Geon-woo got into a traffic accident last night. When I went to the classroom, everyone was talking about it.”
“I see. What do you want to do for lunch?”
Joo Seung-hyuk blatantly changed the subject. It meant he didn’t want to talk about Park Geon-woo.
