Chapter 37 – GOY 37
#37
I clutched my hair in frustration.
Why on earth did I do that yesterday? No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t understand myself.
It was a blessing that it was just a mild cold that could be cured in a day, otherwise I might have passed it on to Joo Seung-hyuk.
It wasn’t simply the fact that we had sex while I had a cold that bothered me. If I had consented out of fear of the obsessive madman, it wouldn’t be this shocking.
Yesterday, I had mixed my body with his of my own will.
Why did I allow it? Even if it was Joo Seung-hyuk, I could have easily refused. I really was sick, after all.
But in the end, I couldn’t overcome a moment of heat and gave in.
Why did I act like that yesterday?
Am I really that weak to pleasure? No. If that were the case, I would have succumbed to temptation every time I performed Guiding.
‘Surely I haven’t manifested as an Omega?’
They say that if you manifest as an Omega or Alpha, you experience something called a Cycle periodically, making you sexually sensitive.
It’s incomparable to the impulses felt during Guiding, so one must take suppressants during the Cycle period.
There were many Guides who regretted impulsively engaging in relations after Guiding during a Cycle, and conversely, Espers who couldn’t control their sexual desire and pounced on their Guides.
‘If I have manifested…’
I quickly erased the thought from my mind.
In the original work, Lee Yeon-soo wanted to manifest as an Omega, but in the end, he failed to achieve that wish until the day he died. So, it would be the same for me.
Of course, many things have changed from the original story now. But even so, there was no way my innate constitution would change.
Right, manifestation my foot. I must have just been momentarily crazy.
I guess I caught the ‘madness’ from being too close to Joo Seung-hyuk.
A ‘villainous obsessive uke.’ If that were a keyword, no one would buy the book…
While I was recalling memories of working at a publishing house in my previous life, the lecture ended.
I wasted this lecture too. I [visit our site]can’t concentrate all day. [Read on Read BL Novels]I’ll have to study hard starting from the next one.
I put the textbook, which was as thick as an encyclopedia, into my bag and zipped it shut. Just thinking about carrying this makes my vision go dark.
If my back breaks today, it’s all Joo Seung-hyuk’s fault.
Even if I gave my permission, how could he do it all night? Scary bastard.
Moreover, yesterday, no matter how much I begged him to stop, he wouldn’t listen. He just kept racing forward like a sports car with a broken speedometer.
I was strange, but Joo Seung-hyuk didn’t seem to be in his right mind either.
Damn Indomitable Top. Lately, I feel like the keyword ‘Indomitable Top’ is more dangerous than ‘obsessive yandere.’
Still, I have to go to the next lecture. As I let out a sigh and tried to shoulder my bag, someone spoke to me.
“I’ll carry it for you.”
It was Kang In-ho. I was startled by the appearance of someone I completely unexpected.
Kang In-ho and I were alumni from middle and high school. Since we were the only two High-rank Guides in school, we had many opportunities to be together, and we ran into each other often in college, but we had almost never had a proper conversation.
This was because Kang In-ho kept his distance from people. He seemed to have no intention of getting close to anyone. He maintained the same attitude not only toward Guides but also toward Espers.
If I had become an ‘accidental loner’ through a combination visit our siteof my natural disposition and the fate of unauthorized copybeing [unauthorized copy]a villainous sub-uke, Kang In-ho was a ‘voluntary loner.’
Actually, I wanted to be friends with Kang In-ho. I had made efforts to approach him first, but I eventually gave up in the face of his immense iron wall.
And yet, he was the one to speak first.
“No. It’s okay.”
“Give it to me. You’re not feeling well.”
“Huh?!”
How did he know I wasn’t feeling well? Was it that obvious?
“Your complexion looks bad. Shouldn’t you have stayed at the hospital a bit longer?”
Ah, he’s still worrying about me because of the mock training incident.
“I’m fine.”
“The next lecture is ‘Guide Ethics,’ right? You can’t be late.”
As he said, the next class was a terrifying mandatory major lecture that didn’t even tolerate tardiness, and my back was at its limit.
“Then I’ll rely on you for a bit.”
“Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
We walked down the hallway without much further conversation.
With a height of over 180cm and an intellectual aura, Kang In-ho had been popular since his school days. If I were the author, I think I would have chosen him as one of the sub semes, but he wasn’t even a character in this novel, let alone an extra.
“The weather has gotten much warmer, hasn’t it?”
“Yeah.”
I brought up the most mundane topic—the weather—to break the silence, but only a short, one-word answer returned.
“In-ho, are you going to the Center after graduation?”
Kang In-ho wasn’t affiliated with any corporation or guild yet. For a High-ranking Ability User not to sign a contract with a corporation or guild, there was usually a high probability they were aiming for the Center.
Specifically, there were many rumors since high school that Kang In-ho was already slated for the Center.
“I don’t know.”
Again, a short answer. Did I ask a question that Read on Read BL Novelswas too sensitive? Just as I thought I should stay quiet, a [visit our site]short question flew back at me.
“You?”
“Huh?”
“Are you going to the Center?”
“Ah, I haven’t decided yet.”
“I see.”
And silence followed once again.
“Our lectures overlap a lot. I feel like we run into each other often.”
“We’re in the same year, and there are only a few High-ranks.”
Kang In-ho spoke in a dry voice.
“T-true…”
Of course that was a fact, but man, he’s cool.
The conversation cut off again. At this point, it meant he had no visit our siteintention of talking. [stolen content]I [unauthorized copy]stopped speaking as well and kept my mouth shut.
Fortunately, we arrived at the classroom before I suffocated in the awkward air.
“My bag…”
I reached out to take my bag. However, he strode forward and placed the bag on the seat I sit in every day.
He knew where I sat? I thought he had absolutely no interest in me…
“Lee Yeon-soo.”
“Yeah?”
“If there’s anything difficult, tell me.”
“Ah, yeah. Thanks.”
I quickly nodded. With an expressionless face, Kang In-ho strode away and sat in the seat closest to the door.
“Oh, did you come with Kang In-ho?”
Ji-hee noona asked, looking at Kang In-ho sitting at the back of the classroom.
“Yeah. He said my bag looked heavy and carried it for me.”
“Were you two close?”
“Well, we are alumni…”
I glossed over the answer. Honestly, I didn’t know why he helped me.
I thought he was more on the side of disliking me.
“Ah, I went to the East Wing earlier and saw something interesting.”
Ji-hee noona quickly changed the subject, seemingly uninterested in Kang In-ho.
“Something interesting?”
“Yeah. A bunch of A-Class Espers were huddled together in one spot. I wondered what was happening, and they were all wearing incredibly serious faces, saying things like, ‘Lee Yeon-soo belongs to all of us! We can’t let Joo Seung-hyuk steal him!’”
“No way.”
I was appalled the moment I heard it. That’s nonsense.
“It’s true. They looked like they were about to have a huge fight because of you.”
“Noona, stop teasing me.”
“I’m not teasing. I heard Joo Seung-hyuk refused the matching rate test again yesterday. Three A-Class Guides came from the Center, and Professor Jeon broadcasted until his throat burst, but he just ignored it. Because of that, the Espers are on the verge of exploding right now.”
I originally handled the Guiding for the High-rank Espers of the Academy. However, I was suddenly changed to be Joo Seung-hyuk’s designated Guide.
Other Espers had agreed at first.
It seemed they were willing to understand for the greater good until Joo Seung-hyuk’s Guiding Rejection symptoms eased, or until a Guide with a high matching rate other than me was found.
However, since I became his designated Guide, Joo Seung-hyuk had not once complied with the matching rate test.
That was why Professor Jeon had made the school announcement in a furious voice yesterday. His anger exploded because Joo Seung-hyuk kept refusing the test.
Furthermore, yesterday, he was strongly urged to attend the test because several A-Class Guides were visiting from the Center, but he lightly ignored it.
So they even did a broadcast, but Joo Seung-hyuk spent the whole night with me…
And it seems the Espers’ dissatisfaction exploded following yesterday’s events.
“Anyway, our Yeon-soo is a man of many sins.”
“It’s just because I’m an S-Class Guide.”
No matter how outstanding an Esper is, they visit our sitecannot exert their full strength if Guiding is not performed [visit our site]properly. It was natural for Espers to want Guiding from a High-rank Guide with an excellent matching rate.
“You have to be precise. It’s because that S-Class is none other than Lee Yeon-soo that it’s such a mess. Lee Yeon-soo, you’re really popular. You know it’s annoying when you’re too humble, right?”
“I get it.”
“I don’t think you do at all. Anyway, the High-rank Espers and Joo Seung-hyuk really look like they’re going to throw down.”
If Ji-hee noona’s words were true, my future looked bleak.
If High-rank Espers fight, a lot of mana will be consumed, and Guides will have to be deployed.
Setting aside the fact that my name was being tossed around, I felt self-conscious. How annoyed would they be if they were called in on their day off to Guide Espers just because of me? I would curse too.
“It’ll be totally exciting, right?”
“What?”
But despite the situation that should be infuriating, Ji-hee noona’s eyes sparkled.
“Espers fighting a bloody battle over one Guide. It’s just like a movie.”
“Noona, are you serious?”
“Yeah. All the other kids are looking forward to it too. If Joo Seung-hyuk fights stolen contentall the A-Classes, visit our sitewho do you think will win?”
Noona looked genuinely thrilled.
According to her, other Guides were also anticipating the bloody battle of the High-rank Espers.
Surprisingly, not many people seemed to mind that they might have to do useless Guiding because of me. Human psychology is truly strange.
As usual, Joo Seung-hyuk came to find me after class ended today. He was gradually permeating into my daily life.
As soon as Joo Seung-hyuk saw me, he took my bag without saying much.
“Thanks.”
“It’s quite heavy.”
“Yeah. Two philosophy textbooks were suddenly added.”
“It must have been hard for you to move alone today.”
The moment I heard those words, a chill ran down my spine. Was he worrying that my body might be aching? Or was he probing to see if he knew that Kang In-ho had helped me?
It happened in the West Wing. There’s no way Joo Seung-hyuk would know… actually, he might. If it’s an obsessive yandere and not just anyone, it’s more than possible.
If I couldn’t know Joo Seung-hyuk’s exact intention, there was only one way.
“No. A classmate carried it for me.”
“A classmate?”
“Yeah. I think he thought I was struggling because I had been hospitalized. Plus, the next lecture was Guide Ethics, so he helped. But he’s a quiet kid who likes being alone, so we barely talked.”
In the original work, as an obsessive yandere, Joo Seung-hyuk swept away everyone around the main uke.
I explained in great detail so that an innocent person wouldn’t suffer.
“Is that so?”
“Yeah.”
Joo Seung-hyuk looked down at me intently. Was he gauging whether my words were truth or a lie?
