Chapter 78 – GOY 78
#78
I often ran into Joo Seung-hyuk at gate subjugations or events related to ability users. And I frequently heard stories about him.
However, even after it was confirmed that he was Chairman Joo’s biological son, Joo Seung-hyuk remained violent and continued to cause many problems. He was exactly as described in the original work.
Furthermore, the other incidents that occurred in between were identical to those in the novel. The Original Plot Constraint was stronger than I thought, and it wasn’t something that could be easily escaped.
The darkness residing in Joo Seung-hyuk’s heart remained the same. Even if the timing of confirming his biological father was moved up compared to the original, the wounds he had already received could not be undone.
I looked at the man gripping the steering wheel. He was now taller than me and his appearance had matured, but the expression stained with scars was the same as it had been in his childhood.
Seven years ago, when I visit our sitesaid my goodbyes [unauthorized copy]and left, he had that same expression.
Joo Seung-hyuk was strange today. While he wasn’t exactly a gentle or soft person, he had never lost control of his mana to the point of threatening lives, nor had he ever inflicted wounds that drew blood.
I thought it would be strange to blame it on Park Geon-woo, so I wondered if something had happened between him and his father.
I placed my hand over his, which was resting on the gear shift.
“Seung-hyuk-ah, I’m glad I met you. If you hadn’t been born, I wouldn’t have met someone as pretty as you. I wouldn’t like that.”
I simply didn’t want to be entangled with an Obsessive Madman; I had no intention of denying Joo Seung-hyuk’s birth or his very existence.
“There are many people who like you besides me. So, I hope you like yourself too.”
Joo Seung-hyuk suddenly pulled the car over to one side and stared at me.
“Hyung, do you like me?”
“Who could possibly hate you? In truth, everyone probably likes you and relies on you.”
“I don’t give a damn about other bastards. I’m asking if Lee Yeon-soo likes me.”
I had told him I liked him often. Those were words I had spun to keep the Obsessive Madman appeased and to avoid being imprisoned.
I could do that now, too. If I just said something he’d like, his mood would improve. However, seeing Joo Seung-hyuk asking with such a desperate expression, I felt that I shouldn’t lie.
Unable to answer, I turned my head away. Then, my chin was grabbed, and Joo Seung-hyuk’s lips crashed into mine. His tongue insistently brushed against the wound on my lip as if urging me to answer.
“Ugh…”
A fierce sensation shook my entire body, and a strange sense of excitement washed over me. Startled, I instinctively pulled back, and Joo Seung-hyuk’s eyes flashed.
“Why are you avoiding me?”
“It, it hurts. My lip hurts.”
Joo Seung-hyuk caressed my lips. As he did, the wound reopened, and blood seeped out.
“Does it hurt a lot?”
“Not really, just a little…”
His face drew close again, and he licked the wounded area. My body flinched every time his tongue touched me, but I didn’t pull away.
After licking the blood, he pulled me into an embrace.
Could I be a masochist?
Yesterday, when Joo Seung-hyuk licked my wound, I felt a strange excitement. [stolen content]And then in the car…
Even though Joo Seung-hyuk acted that way, I didn’t even think to stop him; instead, I ended up responding.
I had felt this sensation before. What on earth is this…
Anyway, I had to go to my lecture, but looking at the wound on my lip, I felt complicated.
‘Anyone who sees this will think it’s a wound from kissing…’
My image is plummeting again today. But more than that, Joo Seung-hyuk was the problem.
‘Hyung, I’m a believer in premarital chastity. You stole the goal of my life. So, take responsibility.’
‘…’
‘Answer me quickly.’
‘Seung-hyuk-ah, this is hard for me.’
‘My goal is you, Hyung. So if you don’t take responsibility for me, I’ll go crazy. If you look at any other bastard besides me, I’ll get rid of them all.’
‘A-Alright. I’ll take responsibility. So please…’
Yesterday, Joo Seung-hyuk had smiled prettily and claimed once again that he was a believer in premarital chastity.
To think that the life goal of an Obsessive Madman was premarital chastity.
Seeing him go that far, I started to think that that night might have actually been his first time.
While there were many rumors that Joo Seung-hyuk had relationships with other people, they might all have been false rumors.
There is a proverb that says “where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” but looking at me and [Read on Read BL Novels]Park Geon-woo, smoke can billow continuously even without any evidence…
If Joo Seung-hyuk really is a believer in premarital chastity, then the original plot has changed significantly. In <The Swamp of the Guide>, Joo Seung-hyuk was a Promiscuous Top and had relationships with others even after meeting Kim Joon.
Just when did the original plot start to differ…?
Boom!
Suddenly, the sound of thunder echoed. Startled, I looked out the window of my dormitory room to see a torrential downpour.
Is it a sudden shower…?
I guess it’s summer now.
Joo Seung-hyuk is probably taking a lecture in the East Wing right now. Since there was no mention of rain today, he probably didn’t bring an umbrella.
Joo Seung-hyuk hated rainy days.
Even when it suddenly poured while he was at school, no one ever came to meet him. It was said that Joo Seung-hyuk would watch other children go home with their parents who had brought umbrellas, and then he would walk back alone, drenched in the rain.
Of course, that was the story from the original work.
Since it was revealed early this time that Joo Seung-hyuk is a biological son, he shouldn’t have to suffer from such loneliness.
Even as I thought this, my body moved on its own.
I stood up from my chair, grabbed an umbrella, and headed out of the dormitory.
When we were conquering gates, Joo Seung-hyuk’s expression would always be poor on rainy days. Every time, I felt the urge to talk to him, but I ignored him because I wanted to distance myself from the original plot.
I wanted to hold an umbrella over him at least once.
Since I’m already entangled with him, this much should be fine.
It was almost time for the lecture to end. Checking my watch, I ran to the East Wing in one go. I knew our school was large, but running like this made it feel even larger.
“Huff, huff.”
I was out of breath even though I had only run on flat ground, not a hill. Damn this pathetic stamina of mine. I’ll start exercising immediately after I get dumped by Joo Seung-hyuk.
“Esteemed Student Lee Yeon-soo, what’s the matter? Are you feeling unwell?”
An Esper spoke to me, sounding concerned.
“No. I’m fine.”
I’m not sick; my stamina is just pitiful.
“I can take you to the infirmary…”
“No. I’m really fine. Oh, Seung-hyuk-ah!”
I saw Joo Seung-hyuk over the man’s shoulder. I ran straight toward him.
“What brings you to the East Wing?”
His expression, which was always cold, looked even chillier. He must be in a bad mood because of the rain.
“It’s raining. I thought you might not have brought an umbrella.”
I held the umbrella over him.
“You came because of this?”
“Yeah.”
I tilted the umbrella toward Joo Seung-hyuk. However, the umbrella was too small to block the rain pouring over my own shoulder.
“Sorry. The umbrella is small, right? This was the only one in the dorm.”
Joo Seung-hyuk looked down at me intently. Was he angry that I came to the East Wing?
“Hyung, do you know you’re mean?”
“I am?!”
I was startled. I didn’t care if Joo Seung-hyuk saw me as a loser or an ignorant person, but appearing mean was dangerous…
“N-No. I’m not mean.”
“You are. You keep giving me hope.”
“Huh…?”
“Let’s go.”
Joo Seung-hyuk took over the umbrella and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
“You’re completely soaked.”
Just as he said, I was a mess from head to toe. Because the wind was blowing strongly, the rain was falling almost horizontally. In the midst of that, I had been caught in the rain while running hurriedly.
“Ah, you’re right. Sorry. You’ll get wet because of me.”
If we stayed this close, his clothes would get wet too. I tried to move outside the umbrella, but Joo Seung-hyuk instead tightened his grip and hugged me firmly.
“Let’s go back to the dorm quickly. You’ll catch a cold.”
“Okay…”
“Why did you come in such a hurry? Without even realizing you were soaked.”
“The lecture was almost over. I ran because I was afraid you’d get hit by the rain if I was late.”
“You’re really mean. You’ve been mean lately, but today you’re the meanest.”
Even if I had acted clumsily recently to get dumped by Joo Seung-hyuk, I wouldn’t have been mean…
Regardless, it was a problem if he thought so. I had absolutely no desire to leave a mean impression on Joo Seung-hyuk.
“No, that’s not it…”
I shook my head vigorously and tried to make an excuse. But before I could, our lips met.
Joo Seung-hyuk’s warm body heat and the sound of the rain enveloped everything around us.
The atmosphere in the classroom was more boisterous than usual.
“I heard Esper Park Geon-woo is returning to the country this week. I can’t wait to see him.”
“Even if he returns, he’ll probably only come to the Esper Academy starting from the second semester.”
“No. I heard he’s giving a special lecture this Friday?”
“Is that true?”
Everyone was excited that Park Geon-woo was coming to the Academy. He was always a popular person.
If the main uke, Kim Joon, was a character who contrasted with the villainous sub-uke, Lee Yeon-soo, in stolen contentevery aspect, then the main seme, Joo Seung-hyuk, unauthorized copywas the polar opposite of [Read on Read BL Novels]the sub seme, Park Geon-woo, from start to finish.
An S-Class Esper who was kind, friendly, polite, and even righteous, Park Geon-woo was loved by the entire nation. And now, he had become a global hero beyond Korea.
‘So he’s giving a special lecture this Friday…’
Perhaps I’ll be meeting him for the first time in two and a half years. Although he might not be very pleased to meet me…
