80 – Secret Whispers

Episode 80: Secret Whispers

Heavy rain was pouring down on the outdoor filming set. The staff had set up temporary tents with waterproof tarps so they could avoid the rain. Fortunately, there weren’t many people, so there was plenty of room for everyone to stand together.

After getting into the car, He Yu relayed the results of the meeting to the actress.

“We decided to delete one line.”

“Which one?”

He Yu answered, pointing to a spot in the script she was holding.

“This line.”

The actress read the line once more.

“How… how can a person be like this? You’re truly insane, aren’t you?”

“Yes. From there, you only need to deliver the last line. Keep the emotional swings subtle and lower your voice volume slightly. Change that feeling of shock into a sense of frustration, like you can’t get through to a lover. A feeling of disappointment because your partner doesn’t understand your pain. Would you like to try it?”

The actress murmured the line, taking a moment to find the emotion.

Then, looking at He Yu, she whispered softly.

“You’re truly insane…”

He Yu nodded and spoke to the director through the portable microphone.

“Director, let’s try filming this again.”

This take went much more smoothly than the previous one. Emotional dialogue passed between the two. While it might not have been a perfect 90, it was at least a passing level.

The actress felt surprised by He Yu’s acting. As soon as the director called “Cut,” she asked him.

“How did you nail the emotional direction? Have you done similar acting before?”

“No.”

“Then…”

“I’ve actually seen someone like this in real life.”

He Yu paused for a moment and glanced over at Xie Qingcheng, who was standing quietly behind the reflector.

Instead of watching He Yu’s performance, Xie Qingcheng was staring expressionlessly at his phone, fiddling with it. He was most likely chatting with Chen Man.

He Yu looked away. The shadow cast over his face grew even more gloomy.

After a short break, the filming of the second scene continued.

This scene was the bed scene.

The car sex bed scene opened with Ai Chenchen, the character played by the actress, firmly rejecting the man. The two, both angry, engage in an argument. Ai Chenchen cannot control her heightened emotions, and as a physical struggle ensues, the man, unable to suppress his possessiveness, pins her down in the passenger seat and forces a kiss. The kiss gradually ignites, leading to car sex.

Filming began shortly.

“You’re not afraid of anything, are you? Meeting when you want, breaking up when you want. What do you take me for?”

Within the camera angle, He Yu looked up with a dark expression.

It wasn’t seasoned acting, but his desolate face, resembling a predator, fit the character perfectly.

Pressing his body down firmly, He Yu glared at her, his lips twitching.

“Ai Chenchen, we’ve already seen everything there is to see of each other, so why act like a virtuous woman now? Don’t you think it’s ridiculous, even to you?”

“Shut up.”

Following He Yu’s advice, she brought up coldness and sadness while suppressing her anger to continue the emotional acting.

Thanks to the appropriate emotional line, He Yu was also able to immerse himself in the scene.

He Yu lowered his head and laughed.

“A married woman with three children, no less. I showered you with affection, and yet you keep overstepping your bounds.”

“Just shut your—”

“You know it too. You and your husband can never go back to the way things were. Because you’ve already been defiled by my hands.”

“This is my final choice. No matter what happens to me… I won’t regret it…”

“As if you even have the right to choose?”

A terrifying rain poured down on the desolate outskirts where mountains stretched out. A fierce wave surged within He Yu’s dark eyes. Before the other person could answer—.

He braced himself against the seat with the hand holding a cigarette, pushed the seatback down, and leaned in roughly to kiss the woman. The woman’s eyes widened.

-Cut!

The director’s voice came through the microphone.

-No, Chenchen. That’s not the right emotional line. Let’s discuss this again.

The director was a man obsessed with detail. He stolen contentYu moved aside, giving her [visit our site]and the director time to communicate.

Then, tilting his head slightly to the side, he cast a casual glance at Xie Qingcheng with eyes that were gloomy, mad, yet beautiful.

Again, Xie Qingcheng did not look this way.

—Explicit lines, twisted love. Come to think of it, the partner in the movie’s bed scene is also married. It’s a complex relationship, much like his own and Xie Qingcheng’s.

Looking at the actress, he imagined Xie Qingcheng lying on a bed.

However, Xie Qingcheng seemed to reject such imaginations with his entire being. He didn’t give He Yu so much as a trivial glance. No matter how many times He Yu acted inside the car, the man’s heart didn’t waver in the slightest.

He Yu became moody.

Seeing that the actress was still communicating with the director, he got out of the car and slammed the door shut. He stood with his hands in his pockets amidst the pouring rain. His face flickered between ‘He Yu’ and a ‘young gang boss.’ It wasn’t a cruel or cold atmosphere, but it was an aura that suggested he could easily kill someone if he set his mind to it.

The people watching the scene swallowed hard.

Entering the temporary tent, He Yu gave a polite nod to Hu Yi.

At that, Hu Yi asked.

“Young Master He, is there a problem?”

Under the gaze of the others, He Yu smiled brightly.

“I’m not psychologically certain. I think I need a consultation with Professor Xie.”

There were too many eyes here. The weather was also a problem. If it weren’t raining, he would have found an excuse to drag Xie Qingcheng into the nearby reed field. He wanted to hide in the reeds, which were as tall as a person, and kiss those cold lips roughly to release this burning grudge. He wanted to punish him for ignoring him.

But there was no way now. Rather than dragging Xie Qingcheng into the rainy reed field in front of everyone’s staring eyes, it would be better to take a megaphone and announce that he was going to have sex with this man.

The sound of rain echoed loudly over the tent where people had gathered. He Yu stood before Xie Qingcheng, glaring into his eyes, and spoke in a gentle voice.

“Professor Xie. Was my emotional expression just now okay?”

“….”

The people standing around Xie Qingcheng knew that he hadn’t been watching the filming.

In fact, Xie Qingcheng was a very responsible person. He had meticulously observed every shoot so far and provided advice at the right moments.

So, everyone internally guessed that he must have been checking his phone throughout because of some other circumstance. But of all the bad luck, who knew Young Master He would ask so bluntly?

How would he answer?

Just as everyone was wondering, Xie Qingcheng quietly raised his eyes and gazed at He Yu.

“I didn’t watch, so I wouldn’t know.”

“….”

At the overly honest answer, the people instinctively fell silent.

He Yu smiled and lowered his head.

“Professor Xie, the director asked for your help; how can you provide consultation like this?”

“Because there was nothing wrong with the emotions you mentioned while discussing it earlier,” Xie Qingcheng replied.

“Honestly, I don’t think there’s any need for me to be standing here.”

At these words, He Yu’s smile vanished, and he cast a dark, sunken gaze.

“I’m asking you, please stay here.”

“….”

“If the professor isn’t here, I lose confidence in my acting.”

“….”

“If there’s someone waiting for you, send them back first and watch the filming.”

He Yu’s voice was desolate.

“I told you earlier. I can only immerse myself in the acting if the professor is here.”

—I want to film a bed scene with you. No matter who the co-star is, I’ll only think of you. That was what He Yu had said earlier.

Because there were many eyes, he spoke in riddles on purpose, but there was no way Xie Qingcheng wouldn’t know the meaning contained within.

After finishing his sentence, He Yu quietly bit his lower lip, revealing his characteristic sharp canine tooth. A sinister face, invisible to others, faced Xie Qingcheng.

To anyone, it was a conversation that crossed the line, but the people on set thought differently. If Xie Qingcheng had given He Yu some advice while researching the character’s psychology, then Xie Qingcheng would have to be on set for He Yu to recall that advice and bring up the emotions. Viewed that way, this strange conversation was understandable.

Thus, the director’s loyal lackey, Xiao Zhang, gave Xie Qingcheng a piece of advice—or rather, a warning—telling him not to look at his phone from now on and to find parts of He Yu’s acting that needed correction.

Soon, the filming of the second scene resumed.

When He Yu returned to the filming car, the opposing actress had a slightly frustrated expression.

It was because she hadn’t yet formed a consensus with the director.

The director seemed to want the actress to realize the problem on her own.

-Think carefully once more about what you need to express.

The actress, who was struggling against the famous director, became a bit flustered when the director grew irritated.

“I should… express a surprised look.”

Having lost her confidence, she answered according to the script.

Watching the actress’s troubled face, He Yu spoke after a moment’s thought.

“Noona, could you look this way for a second? In the bed scene later, there’s a part where you resist violently. During the part where you get excited in the middle, you can just bite me without worrying about me.”

After a brief pause, He Yu continued.

“Instead, you can’t resist with one hundred percent hatred. Because in truth, you genuinely like this man deep down. You know what I mean, right?”

After finishing, He Yu added a word of comfort, telling her not to be too nervous.

The director gave them time to compose their emotions and discuss the details of the upcoming acting. When he returned after rearranging the camera and audio equipment, he found an unexpected harvest. Perhaps because he majored in directing, He Yu’s understanding was better and he was more open than other rookie actors of his age.

Thanks to He Yu, the actress, who now accurately understood the emotional line, gradually immersed herself in the scene.

Arguments and tears. The atmosphere gradually escalated.

The microphone captured He Yu’s threatening voice. The actress, who [visit our site]had been cold Read on Read BL Novelsthroughout, gradually became soaked in anger and sadness. The conversation between Read on Read BL Novelsthe two formed an invisible, intangible vortex, capturing the attention of the staff who had been restless.

Xie Qingcheng also watched this with cold eyes from the corner.

While everyone was focused on the filming, it would look suspicious if he alone turned his attention away. Moreover, hadn’t He Yu just asked him to watch? From Xie Qingcheng’s position, He Yu was not visible. Instead, the young man’s profile was reflected on the small screen of the filming camera. A desolate face, as if submerged in dark clouds, was cornering the woman.

As He Yu lowered his head, the actress sharply turned her head away. Then, a rough hand grabbed her chin and forced her head back into place.

At the grip on her chin, the woman closed her eyes and let out a groan.

He Yu, indifferent, braced himself against the seat. Cigarette ash, burned down to the filter, touched his fingertips. Whether it hurt or was hot, he didn’t blink; he extinguished the cigarette and kissed the actress while still holding her chin.

In an instant, intense hormones erupted, as if piercing through the screen.

The set became deathly silent. Even the air felt sticky. He Yu kissed the actress while maintaining a proper boundary. They didn’t actually mix tongues, but by changing the angle of the kiss, it looked like a fairly passionate deep kiss on the monitor.

Dense emotions were transmitted through the monitor.

The actress’s slender and pained voice flowed through the microphone. It was impossible to tell if the emotion contained within was acting or if she was genuinely surprised.

A few of the watching staff blushed in embarrassment. The writer and the assistant director looked at each other. It was a very satisfying atmosphere. Even though they were just entangled without properly taking off their clothes, the two actors produced a hot scene that made everyone’s hearts race.

Only when they reached the end of the script did He Yu let go of the actress. The other woman leaned her back against the leather seat, her lips slightly parted and her eyes vacant. Her entire body went limp, as if it had turned into mud.

Just as the director, unable to watch any longer, was about to call “Cut,” she remembered where she was and who she stolen contentwas portraying and stiffened her body. [visit our site]Despair and coldness appeared in her eyes simultaneously.

The lingering afterglow of the kiss, the sadness, and even the actress’s own emotions as she hurriedly tried to correct her acting were all captured by the camera.

Filtered through the monitor, the actress’s urgency appeared as the character’s bewilderment.

The director admired the actress’s beautiful, tear-filled eyes on the screen. A usable scene had been captured, and since it wouldn’t be easy to act out such heavy emotions again in a long take, he decided to leave it as is. Thinking this, the director closed his mouth, which had been about to call “Cut,” and watched the two act.

Slowly regaining her senses, the actress looked at He Yu with a humiliated face.

“If you act like this, I have no choice but to hate you.”

He Yu continued acting according to the script. At this point, He Yu’s character’s anger had subsided and he had regained his reason. Seeing the person he loved with a face of despair, he suddenly felt a pang in his heart and regret.

Flustered, he reached out to wipe the woman’s tears. The woman brushed his hand away instantly.

He Yu let his hand drop.

“…I’m sorry.”

“….”

“Don’t hate me.”

“Okay, cut! Let’s end the filming here. Adjust the positions, let the unauthorized copyactors rest a [unauthorized copy]bit, and [unauthorized copy]then let’s do the second take.”

Since movies originally film one scene from multiple angles, no scene ends in one go. Even if the acting is perfect, it’s common to film a few more times for editing.

In other words, it meant they had to come back and film again later.

He Yu stood up, took a tissue from an assistant staff member, and handed it to the actress. His emotional control from the start of the shoot until now had not been bad. Of course, it was true that his emotions had intensified midway. However, that wasn’t because of the co-star, but purely a phenomenon stemming from experience. He had unconsciously immersed himself while recalling that absurd night he had sex with Xie Qingcheng.

He was very curious about how Xie Qingcheng would react this time.

He put on his outer coat, got out of the car, and headed toward the tent. But—.

The result of the encounter still grated on his nerves.

Xie Qingcheng, who had watched the filming, was now smoking in the corner. His expression was so indifferent that he seemed to have no feeling at all even after seeing He Yu’s acting.

“….”

How can he be this indifferent?

He Yu thought.

How can he be so unfazed?

Even the staff, whether female or male, couldn’t easily meet the eyes of He Yu, who had finished [stolen content]filming. Fluttering, awkwardness, anxiety. Everyone’s faces [stolen content]were flushed or their hearts were beating fast.

He had immersed himself in the kiss scene specifically to show Xie Qingcheng, yet unlike others, he alone had no reaction.

Professor Xie took a deep drag of his cigarette. The smoke leaking from between his lips made him look like a deity hidden in the distant fog.

Tonight, He Yu’s anger finally reached its peak. When Xie Qingcheng didn’t give him a single glance, He Yu pulled out a tissue, wiped his lips, and remained silent with a hardened face.

On the surface, he had a gentle and friendly personality with a neat face, but He Yu’s true nature was closer to the character of a young psychopathic gang boss. Using the excuse of being immersed in the role, he unhesitatingly wore an expression that said, ‘I’m a crazy bastard, so everyone get lost.’

Thanks to that, no one spoke to him. Not even anyone dared to approach him.

At that moment, an assistant staff member breathlessly handed him water. Not feeling thirsty, he lightly rinsed his mouth with the water, sat on a plastic chair, and began looking at the script with a low-pressure atmosphere.

No one could escape this gloomy mood. The surroundings were so quiet that one could hear the sound of a needle dropping on the floor. He Yu, who was flipping through the script with the sound of rain in the background, suddenly felt a surge of anger and slammed the script shut.

“Could you stop smoking?”

Everyone was startled by the sudden irritation.

Looking around, the only people smoking were the director’s assistant, Xiao Zhang, and Xie Qingcheng.

When Xiao Zhang smoked, He Yu had endured as much as possible and left him alone. Anyone with a quick mind could tell immediately who this complaint was aimed at.

A few of the staff looked at Xie Qingcheng.

From Xie Qingcheng’s perspective, he wanted to avoid things becoming troublesome. To resolve anything properly, a cold response is usually needed rather than irritation. He put out the cigarette and spoke in a calm voice.

“My apologies.”

He Yu looked forward again and continued flipping through the script.

Under a heavy atmosphere that pressed upon the internal organs more than the water pressure of the deep sea, the camera position adjustment ended quickly. Only then did Xiao Zhang let out a sigh of relief.

“Now, the directors are here, so let’s go into take two.”

The second filming began.

This time, the atmosphere remained even more heightened than the previous shot. It was thanks to the two actors immersing themselves in the confused and dark mood of the scene. Deeply absorbed in the emotion, the opposing actress delivered a superb performance.

Soon, the filming reached the kiss scene. Whether or not Xie Qingcheng was watching, He Yu seemed determined to act with raw desperation; while maintaining a professional boundary, he immersed himself more deeply than before.

As the climax passed, the two pulled their lips apart, panting for breath. The actress gripped He Yu’s clothes and shed tears.

“I…”

She opened her mouth, her voice trembling.

“I mean…”

The closing line that was supposed to follow was, ‘If you act like this, I have no choice but to hate you.’

However, choked up by the intensity of the kiss scene, she was unable to utter the line for a long time.

The director, watching from the monitor, let out a small sigh simultaneously with the surrounding staff and tapped the table repeatedly. After waiting for a while, he was just about to call a cut.

But it was then. Before she could speak her line, He Yu threw in an ad-lib. It was an emotion where resentment, anger, bewilderment, and fear were all mixed together.

He Yu’s expression as he looked down at her was completely different from before. He looked as desperate as if standing before a cliff, and as crazily cold as a moth throwing itself into a fire.

“It’s okay. Then from now on, hate me, and hate me more.”

Xie Qingcheng watched this scene while standing under a temporary tent. Even the torrential rain could not swallow He Yu’s voice.

That voice reached Xie Qingcheng’s ears clearly.

Xie Qingcheng, who had been composed all night, suddenly froze upon hearing the line.

—It felt as though He Yu had said something similar in his ear when the two of them had sex for the first time.

A wildfire of anger and shock burned through Xie Qingcheng’s entire body.

In front of so many watching eyes, He Yu had essentially revealed unauthorized copya unauthorized copysecret known [unauthorized copy]only to the two of them to the whole world.

Xie Qingcheng glared at the monitoring screen.

The gaze of the young man in the monitor was vicious. Eyes drenched in fervor, with no regard for the aftermath. It was exactly like that absurd night he wanted to bury deep in his memories.

He Yu continued his acting as if possessed. As if he had decided to fall off the cliff together with Xie Qingcheng, he murmured, just like the night they had once slept together.

“Since no one has ever truly loved me. It would be better to be the object of resentment instead.”

Silence fell over the set.

The director, stunned by the unconventional ad-lib, remained dazed for a moment before clapping and standing up.

“Okay! Cut!”

He Yu turned his eyes and looked directly into the camera. He wanted to drive that chilling gaze straight into the heart of someone outside the camera’s frame.

And so, tonight’s filming ended. Hu Yi, satisfied with the ad-lib, smiled and put his arm around He Yu’s shoulder, chatting excitedly.

Having finished his acting, He Yu returned to the director’s tent with a calm face. While reviewing the footage on the monitoring camera, he unconsciously glanced around.

The moment he did, his body stiffened. His eyes sank into darkness once again.

Xie Qingcheng was gone.

Even after scanning the inside of the tent, there was no sign of Xie Qingcheng. He had already disappeared into the pouring rain, leaving at some unknown point.
