Chapter 141 – GOY 141
#141
Just what kind of drug was he planning to use? Various narcotics and aphrodisiacs from the original story flashed through my mind, and then Joo Seung-hyuk whispered softly.
“Something like a love potion.”
“…….”
Seeing Joo Seung-hyuk with his cheeks flushed as if shy made me feel strange.
To think such a fairytale-like word would come out of Joo Seung-hyuk’s mouth…. As I stared at him in bewilderment, Joo Seung-hyuk shook his head.
“I’m joking. I don’t want to win Hyung’s heart by relying on something like a drug.”
My reflection was fully captured in his black eyes, which shone transparently as if devoid of any impurities. Suddenly, that gaze felt embarrassing.
“…But why would Park Geon-woo Seonbae say something like that?”
“There’s nothing to worry about.”
Joo Seung-hyuk dismissed it lightly. He didn’t seem surprised at all that Park Geon-woo had said such a thing to me. It seemed he already knew what Park Geon-woo was referring to.
“Still, if there’s some misunderstanding or if you’re being unfairly suspected, we should clear it up.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t be defeated by someone like Park Geon-woo.”
Joo Seung-hyuk gripped my hand firmly.
“Thank you for believing in me.”
“Of course I should believe in my Esper.”
I held his hand back. The warmth of Joo Seung-hyuk’s body transmitted through my fingertips was very comforting.
After finishing the meal, Joo Seung-hyuk pushed me toward the living room.
“Rest. I’ll handle the cleanup.”
“Let’s do it together.”
“Next time. You pushed yourself too hard today, so you can’t.”
He was still treating me like a patient.
“I’m fine now.”
“Just rest deeply for today.”
“Alright.”
Unable to win against his persistence, I went to the living room and sat on the sofa to look up cooking recipes.
I want to make something even tastier next time. I want to see Joo Seung-hyuk looking happy while eating food I made….
While browsing for dishes to make, I heard Joo Seung-hyuk’s voice from the kitchen.
“Yes, Chairman…. Yes.”
If he said Chairman, was he on the phone with Chairman Joo?
“Yes. Yes. I understand.”
A moment later, Joo Seung-hyuk came out of the kitchen.
“Hyung, I’m going to step out for a bit.”
“Where?”
“I’m going to visit the main house.”
As expected, he must have been talking to Chairman Joo.
The excited look he had just moments ago was gone, replaced by a stiff, rigid expression.
“I think I’ll be late, so go to sleep first.”
“Are you staying the night?”
“No. I should sleep at home.”
By ‘home,’ he meant this place, implying the main house wasn’t his home.
“Be careful on your way.”
“Yes.”
“Ah, Seung-hyuk-ah, can I go into the study?”
“Of course. This is Hyung’s house now. Feel free to use anywhere.”
Since when did it become my house? Before I could question it, Joo Seung-hyuk continued.
“But please don’t go to the second floor.”
Unlike his soft gaze, his voice was firm.
“…Why?”
“There are many special treasures there, so it’s dangerous. So you ‘absolutely’ must not go.”
He emphasized it once more.
Was it really because of the treasures?
Suddenly, I remembered the time I went up to the second floor. When I accidentally tried to open the room next to where the treasures were kept, Joo Seung-hyuk had urgently stopped me.
Perhaps the treasures were just an excuse, and he was simply preventing me from entering that room.
Being alone without Joo Seung-hyuk made the already spacious house feel even larger.
‘Should I go to the study and read Park Geon-woo’s letter?’
The thought crossed my mind for a moment, but I ultimately decided against it. I didn’t even know if the letter was still there, and even if I saw it now, it would be meaningless.
After all, there wouldn’t be a confession about what happened at the Horaitron Gate.
I had always prided myself on being a [stolen content]homebody who enjoyed my own company. However, without that guy clinging [stolen content]to [unauthorized copy]my side no matter what I did, I felt lonely.
While searching for recipes on the living room sofa, I entered an e-book site. Then, I searched for the novel Joo Seung-hyuk had read as a child.
My Kind of Omega, An Alpha’s Pure Love
I thought it might not be available since it was an old book, but surprisingly, both volumes were available as e-books.
I tended to read almost anything, but I had avoided novels filled with emoticons like this. I suppose they just didn’t appeal to me….
Actually, I thought I’d never read it in my life, but knowing Joo Seung-hyuk had read it as a child made me curious.
After a moment of hesitation, I purchased the book.
As soon as I opened the novel, a flurry of colorful emoticons unfolded. Young Joo Seung-hyuk had said he thought these were a special kind of Korean script….
The letters Joo Seung-hyuk saw, the shapes he was curious about…. The spelling is truly a mess. How could they give this to a child and tell them to study Korean? What terrible people.
I read through the novel while thinking of him. The emoticons, which would usually have bothered me, didn’t seem to matter. Rather, after finishing the novel, a part of my chest felt heavy.
At the end of the novel, the protagonist Alpha bites the neck of his lover, who [stolen content]has manifested as an Omega. Thus, the two bond and promise to be together for the rest visit our siteof their lives, bringing the story to a close.
It seemed Joo Seung-hyuk didn’t watch many movies or read many novels. If he had enjoyed movies, he wouldn’t still be unaware of promising by hooking pinky fingers.
And yet, he bit my neck so often that I had been a bit puzzled.
Biting the neck to bond was something that only appeared in romance novels or movies. Even then, it was a cliché that appeared only in some Asian films.
I wondered how Joo Seung-hyuk knew to do that, and it must have been because of this novel….
Since this was the only book he read as a child, it had left a deep impression on him.
Even after I finished reading one volume, Joo Seung-hyuk had not returned.
He’s quite late…. Is that why he told me to sleep?
As I blankly watched the second hand of the wall clock tick away, I heard the sound of the front door opening.
I quickly stood up from the sofa and ran toward the entrance. Because the house was so large, the door opened and Joo Seung-hyuk stepped inside before I could even arrive.
The moment I saw him, I stopped in my tracks.
Joo Seung-hyuk’s eyes were sunken and empty.
It was different from being expressionless. Like a doll that didn’t know basic human emotions such as anger, sadness, or joy, his eyes were hollow.
Then, Joo Seung-hyuk looked at me.
“Hyung.”
In that instant, a sliver of light entered those inorganic eyes that had held no emotion.
He approached me with a bright smile.
“Seung-hyuk-ah, you’re back?”
“Yes. You weren’t sleeping?”
“No. I wanted to sleep with you.”
Actually, I had been worried about him.
Chairman Joo had neglected and abused Joo Seung-hyuk. Although his attitude changed after finding out he was his biological son, I didn’t know if Joo Seung-hyuk had forgiven his father.
There had been times in the past when Joo Seung-hyuk’s state was strange after a call with Chairman Joo.
That’s why I waited. Hoping that I might provide even a small amount of comfort….
“Thank you. But from next time, just go to sleep.”
“Will you keep being late?”
“For the time being.”
What is happening with Chairman Joo? Or is it because of the thing Park Geon-woo mentioned?
I wanted to ask, but since it involved Chairman Joo, I was worried it might touch upon his wounds, so I couldn’t bring myself to speak.
Joo Seung-hyuk hugged me. I wrapped my arms around his waist.
We stayed like that for a long time before sitting on the sofa. He [Read on Read BL Novels]looked at my phone lying on the table.
“Were you reading a book?”
The screen of the phone was still open to the last page of My Kind of Omega.
“Yeah.”
“That’s the one.”
Joo Seung-hyuk recognized which novel it was just by seeing the final scene.
“Yeah. I was curious about the end…. It was interesting.”
“Is it interesting?”
“It was okay. It felt unfamiliar because there were so many emoticons, but the content itself…. Uh, I think I see why it was popular.”
I chose my words carefully, fearing I might hurt Joo Seung-hyuk. However, he spoke cynically.
“I didn’t like it.”
“Really?”
“Yes. The protagonist is too incompetent. He says he loves him but can’t even protect him properly; I lost count of how many times he let him get kidnapped.”
My Kind of Omega was a story about an ordinary high school student, Kim Bo-seok, who starts dating the school’s top delinquent, Oh Cheon-se.
At first, it seems like a common teen romance, but past the midpoint, fights break out between the delinquents of various schools, and the content shifts abruptly into something incredibly provocative.
The top dogs from neighboring schools kidnapped Kim Bo-seok repeatedly to threaten Oh Cheon-se.
There was even an episode where Kim Bo-seok, an Omega, almost suffered terrible things at the hands of Alpha delinquents from another school, causing him to suffer a shock and become mute, and while Oh Cheon-se dove into the enemy camp to take revenge, he was kidnapped again.
Kim Bo-seok went through so many hardships that it felt impressive he hadn’t gone insane.
I thought movie plots were provocative, but the novel’s level was much higher.
At first, I was bothered by the emoticons and spelling, but as I read on, I started to worry if young Joo Seung-hyuk should have been seeing this kind of content…. Though he probably read it enough to memorize the plot.
“He did get kidnapped a lot…. But still, he really did love Bo-seok a lot.”
“If you love someone, you should protect them. If it were me, I would never let my person be put in danger.”
Joo Seung-hyuk cupped my face and kissed me. Even after the deep kiss ended, he sucked on my lips as if it weren’t enough. Then, he bit my neck. Just like the end of the novel.
However, unlike the protagonists of the novel who were happy while feeling each other’s Pheromones, I could not feel Joo Seung-hyuk’s Pheromones. That fact felt a bit depressing.
I will probably never know his Pheromones for the rest of my life….
