So, they dug deeper into Do Ye-jun, but they found nothing other than the fact that he was the son of a famous gukbap restaurant owner.
Having finished the surveillance, Moon Sa-bin reported everything Do Ye-jun had said to him and the details of his past to Cheon Sa-hyun.
At that moment, Cheon Sa-hyun’s eyes sparkled. Like a child with a gift right in front of him. It was an expression the Cheon Sa-hyun of that age had never once worn. It was as if a gear thought to be broken had somehow caught on a pebble on the ground and begun to turn.
Contrary to Moon Sa-bin’s initial concerns, Cheon Sa-hyun did not break Do Ye-jun. Though he did hold onto him and refuse to let go, much like a child holding a chick for the first time in their life.
To Moon Sa-bin, this felt like a massive, storm-like change. He didn’t know for sure, but there seemed to be something special about Do Ye-jun. Moon Sa-bin stopped the car in an alley a short distance from Cheon Sa-hyun’s office building.
“We’ve arrived. I’m sorry, but I cannot accompany you into the building, so you’ll have to go on your own from here. For your information, the company is in that direction.”
While Do Ye-jun, who had just groggily woken up, was still struggling to gather his senses, Moon Sa-bin finished his piece and vanished in a flash.
“……Huh?”
Do Ye-jun looked around blankly, his eyes and cheeks swollen. Passersby gave him strange looks as he stood frozen in the middle of the street. Dazed, Do Ye-jun scanned his surroundings and eventually began walking toward the location of Cheon Sa-hyun’s company.
“……Wow, this place looks intimidating to get into….”
Standing in front of the building, the barrier to entry felt no joke. He had caught a glimpse of it [visit our site]when he came to see Han Si-yeon, [Read on Read BL Novels]but perhaps because he hadn’t considered actually going inside back then, the sense of intimidation hadn’t been this severe.
But now, for some reason, the office building felt like an impregnable fortress. It was so massive that he had to crane his neck far back just to see the top of the building.
It made him realize why they called it a conglomerate.
“So, Cheon Sa-hyun’s office is somewhere in there, right?”
Looking at the dense rows of windows, he had no clue where the office might be. After spending ten minutes circling the front of the building, crushed by the overwhelming atmosphere, a security guard standing in front of the company slowly approached Do Ye-jun.
“Um… do you have some business here?”
It seemed the guard had noticed him loitering suspiciously in front of the building. Startled, Do Ye-jun desperately tried to appeal that he wasn’t a suspicious person.
“Ah, I… well! I have a friend who works here, and we have an appointment, so just for a moment…!”
He was inwardly worrying about what would happen if the guard suspected him and dragged him away, or just kicked him out.
“Ah, is that so. Then I will guide you inside.”
Unexpectedly, the guard kindly led Do Ye-jun into the building. Although it felt a bit like he was being hauled along, Do Ye-jun felt a bit more confident knowing he had someone accompanying him.
The guard handed Do Ye-jun over to a lobby employee.
“How may I help you?”
A friendly employee asked with a smile.
“Ah, I’m here to see someone….”
“Yes, may I ask where you are from?”
“……What?”
When a flustered Do Ye-jun asked back, the employee assumed he was a newcomer to society and kindly explained further.
“If you tell us where you are from, we will quickly verify it and assist you with guidance.”
“……I came from home….”
His mind knew that wasn’t what they were asking, but because he truly had nothing to say, he blurted out an answer that was worse than that of an elementary school student.
At Do Ye-jun’s timid response, a look of bewilderment crossed the employee’s face.
“Ah, I see.”
The employee signaled the guard behind him. The guard then strode toward him.
As he felt himself being surrounded, Do Ye-jun hesitated and stepped back, and the guard asked with a slightly stiff expression.
“May we verify your identity for a moment?”
“……Do Ye-jun?”
At that moment, a voice like a savior’s was heard. Hearing his name, Do Ye-jun whipped his head around and locked eyes with Han Si-yeon, who was standing there holding a coffee.
“Han Si-yeon!”
“You—why are you here…?”
After checking the employee ID hanging from Han Si-yeon’s neck, the guard and employee relaxed their posture and watched them.
Han Si-yeon rushed over and asked the employee what was happening, and the employee calmly explained the situation.
Upon hearing this, Han Si-yeon burst out laughing.
“Ah, I can’t. How could you say you came from home?”
“I was flustered…!”
“Pffft, still, really!”
On behalf of Do Ye-jun, whose eyebrows were drooping in unfairness, Han Si-yeon whispered into the employee’s ear.
“He’s a guest of Director Cheon Sa-hyun. You can contact the Director.”
“Ah…! Yes, I will check.”
The employee looked surprised and hurriedly called Cheon Sa-hyun’s office.
The call ended in less than ten seconds. As soon as the employee hung up, their expression changed, and they gave Do Ye-jun a kind smile.
“You’ve been verified. Here is your visitor’s pass.”
“Thank you.”
With the pass labeled ‘Visitor’ around his neck, Do Ye-jun was led inside by Han Si-yeon.
“Take this elevator straight to the 13th floor.”
“Okay.”
“Once you get off, follow the left hallway all the way to the desk; the secretary will be there.”
“Okay.”
“If you tell them you’re here to see Mr. Cheon Sa-hyun, they’ll guide you to the office.”
“Okay.”
Do Ye-jun nodded diligently as he listened to Han Si-yeon.
“I have to go now. You can find your way alone, right?”
Do Ye-jun’s eyebrows twitched at being blatantly treated like a child.
“Of course. Go on.”
After sending Han Si-yeon away, Do Ye-jun pressed the elevator button and waited for it to arrive on the first floor.
Just then, someone came to stand beside Do Ye-jun. Do Ye-jun glanced sideways.
It was two men in suits. They glanced at Do Ye-jun, who was wearing a visitor’s badge, and then looked away as if uninterested.
Then they began exchanging a conversation of their own. Do Ye-jun stood there awkwardly until the elevator doors opened, and he stepped inside immediately.
As he pressed the button for the 13th floor as Han Si-yeon had instructed and waited quietly, for some reason, the gazes of the two men who had entered with him clung to him more intensely than before. Do Ye-jun tried his best to pretend not to notice them, but the two men even stopped their conversation and were preoccupied with observing him.
Eventually, Do Ye-jun turned slightly and gave them a polite nod.
“Hello….”
“Ah, yes. Hello.”
He greeted both of them, but only one responded. Even more, the one who ignored Do Ye-jun’s greeting was the younger of the two. As Do Ye-jun turned, he scanned Do Ye-jun’s body up and down even more blatantly.
‘Why is he looking at me like that?’
Do Ye-jun turned his head toward the wall and frowned.
Soon, the elevator stopped on the 13th floor and Do Ye-jun stepped out. As soon as the doors closed behind him, the man who had been scanning Do Ye-jun unpleasantly spoke.
“Is that Cheon Sa-hyun’s guest?”
“It seems so.”
“I’ve never seen him before. A new client?”
“I am not sure.”
“Why don’t you know? If you don’t know, find out right now. He doesn’t look like much, but that black-hearted bastard Cheon Sa-hyun might be plotting something in secret again.”
The one grinding his teeth while recalling Do Ye-jun’s appearance was none other than Cheon Sa-hyun’s half-brother, Cheon Jae-min. Do Ye-jun, who only knew his name and had never seen him, was unaware of this fact.
“Yes. I will investigate immediately and report back.”
Despite the secretary’s words, Cheon Jae-min’s irritation did not subside. Instead, he frowned deeper and raised his voice.
“Just how tightly is that bastard Cheon Sa-hyun hiding things that nothing comes out even when I dig? Did you dig properly?”
“……I will correct that.”
The older man bowed politely.
“Don’t ‘correct’ it, just [visit our site]bring me results. Did you do what I told you to do properly?”
“Yes. I handled it as you requested.”
“Keep a close eye on how Cheon Sa-hyun reacts.”
Sighing irritably, Cheon Jae-min warned them not to disturb him and entered his own office.
Just as Han Si-yeon had said, Do Ye-jun walked down the left hallway as soon as he got off the elevator. Soon, he met a man who appeared to be Cheon Sa-hyun’s secretary.
“I have been expecting you.”
“…Ah, yes. Hello.”
Do Ye-jun gave an awkward bow, and Kim Jun-hwan began to guide him with a soft smile.
“The Director’s office is this way.”
“Okay….”
Feeling inexplicably overwhelmed, Do Ye-jun followed behind Kim Jun-hwan with his shoulders hunched. In contrast to the man’s clean-cut suit, Do Ye-jun was wearing nothing more than a light blue shirt and black pants.
He had actually picked these out from his wardrobe, thinking he was dressing up. He figured he stolen contentcouldn’t Read on Read BL Novelsgo to Cheon Sa-hyun’s company dressed sloppily as usual.
Yet, for some reason, he felt even more shabby, and it felt as if there wasn’t a single grain of effort visible in his appearance.
