“I don’t.”
“…….”
“I don’t know if that question is important in this situation, but….”
Since he couldn’t take his words back now, Do Ye-jun had no choice but to listen in silence.
“It’s true that I felt a human-like fondness for that person. That’s still true now. After all, she’s your friend.”
“…….”
“But why don’t you know this? I have never once told her that I liked her.”
Cheon Sa-hyun’s gaze was resolute. To the point that Ye-jun felt stupid for having taken it for granted until now that Cheon Sa-hyun liked Han Si-yeon.
Do Ye-jun was bewildered.
Cheon Sa-hyun was a candidate for the male lead, and in the original work, he loved Han Si-yeon. To the extent that that love distorted into obsession.
But the Cheon Sa-hyun standing before him now?
Could this man be considered the same person as the character in that novel?
Could a Cheon Sa-hyun who had lost the most primary setting value—loving Han Si-yeon—still be called Cheon Sa-hyun?
Clink!
At that moment, a sharp shattering sound rang out.
Do Ye-jun had dropped the wine glass he was holding. The glass lay shattered on the floor, rolling along with the red wine.
As a flustered Do Ye-jun tried to stand up from his chair, Cheon Sa-hyun reached out and stopped him.
“Don’t move.”
Then, he quickly brought a towel and wrapped up the wine and glass shards. The white towel was stained red in an instant.
After meticulously checking several times for even the smallest fragments, Cheon Sa-hyun straightened his knees and stood up. Looking down at him, Do Ye-jun unconsciously avoided his gaze.
And in that moment, Cheon Sa-hyun snatched Do Ye-jun’s chin and devoured his lips.
Gently stroking Do Ye-jun’s stiffened shoulders, Cheon Sa-hyun invaded deeper.
It was wet, thick, and persistent, yet not rushed. Cheon Sa-hyun left enough room for Do Ye-jun to respond sufficiently.
He gave Do Ye-jun time to unauthorized copybreathe, allowed him to Read on Read BL Novelsfeel a warmth that was beyond hot, and let him feel the touch that caressed him.
More so than the previous time when he had been desperate, Do Ye-jun began to react much more sensitively.
“Hngh….”
Letting out a groan that vibrated in his throat, Do Ye-jun pushed Cheon Sa-hyun’s tongue away. Cheon Sa-hyun retreated without resistance when pushed.
At a precarious distance where their lips could barely brush, Cheon Sa-hyun looked down at Do Ye-jun, while Do Ye-jun gasped for air with his eyes closed.
Once he had caught his breath, Cheon Sa-hyun kissed him again.
Do Ye-jun’s body was honest. Whenever the other tickled the roof of his mouth or the bases of their tongues brushed, he gripped Cheon Sa-hyun’s clothes tightly. So tightly that blue veins bulged in his fists.
Cheon Sa-hyun dug deeper, firmly supporting the back of Do Ye-jun’s head so he couldn’t escape.
Then, Do Ye-jun gave a small kick of his feet and began to push Cheon Sa-hyun away. This time, he held out a bit longer with stubbornness.
Until a pained sound escaped Do Ye-jun’s mouth.
When Cheon Sa-hyun finally let him go, Do Ye-jun whipped his head away, breathing so heavily that his chest heaved.
Cheon Sa-hyun, holding Do Ye-jun’s shoulders, turned his face back toward him. Then, he wiped the wet corners of his mouth with his hand.
“I only did it for you.”
It was a sentence missing its object. Any word could fit into the blank Cheon Sa-hyun had left.
His cooking, the words “I like you,” and this kiss.
Do Ye-jun silently bit his lower lip.
“The food must be cold by now. Hurry and eat. You said you were hungry. Or should I warm it up for you?”
“Huh? No, I’ll just eat.”
At Do Ye-jun’s answer, Cheon Sa-hyun nodded and returned to his seat.
Watching his reaction, Do Ye-jun put a piece of steak in his mouth. As Cheon Sa-hyun said, it had cooled down a bit, but it was fine.
No, it was actually quite delicious.
To the point that even Do Ye-jun, who didn’t usually enjoy Western food, felt it was truly tasty. The meat was tender, and it had a sweet yet fragrant taste, though he didn’t know what had been added.
Even without dipping it in other sauces, it was a perfect dish on its own.
“I learned it from a close chef friend a while ago. To make it for you.”
These words left not a shred of room for the previous question. Do Ye-jun nodded.
“Yeah, it’s delicious.”
All the other dishes were delicious as well, and the wine paired excellently, but the atmosphere was by no means comfortable.
Do Ye-jun continued his meal quietly, like a robot carrying out a command. Because of that, he didn’t notice that Cheon Sa-hyun was barely eating and was instead staring intently at him.
“Do they say we’re a good match?”
Do Ye-jun looked up at Cheon Sa-hyun’s sudden question.
“What?”
“She told me we were a match made in heaven.”
“What are you talking about all of a sudden?”
Not understanding Cheon Sa-hyun’s words, Do Ye-jun asked inquisitively. Cheon Sa-hyun made a humming sound in his throat and picked up one of the cherry tomatoes used as a garnish.
With a light pop, he plucked the stem and put it in his mouth. The cherry tomato burst with a crisp sound.
Do Ye-jun’s eyes moved busily. As if giving him enough time to think, Cheon Sa-hyun spoke slowly.
“Weren’t you curious about that, which is why you went?”
“What are you talking about….”
“You went to see the fairy.”
“…….”
“She seemed quite skilled.”
Do Ye-jun licked his parched lips. Even that wasn’t enough, so he tried to moisten his throat with wine, but instead, his throat felt even more stifled and dry.
“I wonder what my brother was so curious about?”
He remembered what the fairy had told him—to be careful of men at night. Could that moment be now?
If so, wasn’t it already too late to be careful?
Cheon Sa-hyun chuckled.
“Well, naturally you would have asked if we’re a good match. Right?”
“…….”
“Ye-jun hyung, in times like Read on Read BL Novelsthis, you can just nod. Or would you [unauthorized copy]prefer that I stolen contentpush you until you tell me honestly?”
At those words, Do Ye-jun nodded desperately. Without even knowing what he was nodding to.
Cheon Sa-hyun truly didn’t ask any more after that. He simply continued his meal quietly. Watching him eat the salad with elegance, Do Ye-jun asked cautiously.
“But did that fairy really say we were a match made in heaven?”
“Why, are you curious? I thought you already heard it too.”
“…….”
Do Ye-jun’s expression stiffened again. Cheon Sa-hyun smiled, scrunching his nose.
“It was a lie.”
“Hey, why would you tell a lie like that…!”
“She said we aren’t a match made in heaven because we weren’t brought together by the heavens. I’m not quite sure what that means, though.”
As he spoke, Cheon Sa-hyun shrugged. Not brought together by the heavens.
That could be interpreted in two ways.
First, that because he didn’t belong to this world, the heavens couldn’t bring them together; and second, that [stolen content]because he had twisted the original work, it wasn’t a destiny ordained by the heavens.
“Ah, maybe it’s because hyung is an alien?”
Despite Cheon Sa-hyun’s playful joke, Do Ye-jun couldn’t laugh.
“Anyway, even if it’s not ‘made in heaven,’ we’re still a match, right?”
“…And you’re not lying?”
But she clearly told him to be careful of the man at night?
Could it be a ‘match’ from one side’s perspective?
Do Ye-jun was confused.
“Or would you prefer it to be a lie?”
Cheon Sa-hyun, flipping Do Ye-jun’s question back at him, blinked slowly.
“No… I mean, I like it too….”
Do Ye-jun backed down. Cheon Sa-hyun stood up with his plate.
“Then stay the night.”
Do Ye-jun couldn’t find the words to refuse, and he missed his timing. In the meantime, Cheon Sa-hyun began to clear the table neatly.
Do Ye-jun followed him, standing up awkwardly and moving the dishes to the sink.
“Just sit.”
In the end, Do Ye-jun was kicked out of the kitchen. Sitting on the sofa, he stole glances at Cheon Sa-hyun’s back.
The TV was on, but nothing caught his eye. A variety show was airing where couples who had broken up long ago were reuniting.
A woman talking about her past lover burst into tears, overcome with emotion. Do Ye-jun stared at her face for a moment.
That was the face of someone in love. Though it contained deep regret and longing, the most prominent emotion was love.
To Do Ye-jun, love was something that existed only in stories. In fictional novels, or in dramas and movies.
‘What on earth is that kind of emotion?’
He knew of other people’s love, but he had never even thought about his own. Do Ye-jun chewed over the shaman’s words, who had called him and Cheon Sa-hyun a match made in heaven—no, just a match.
Was that really the truth?
And not Cheon Sa-hyun’s lie?
“Is it interesting?”
At that moment, Cheon Sa-hyun, having finished the dishes, approached Do Ye-jun. His gaze touched the TV impassively and then dropped.
He didn’t seem interested in what was being watched. What he was curious about was the person watching it.
“Just, well….”
Do Ye-jun needlessly changed the channel with the remote.
Cheon Sa-hyun stroked Do Ye-jun’s fluffy hair and said,
“I’m going to wash up, so wait for me in the room.”
