Cheon Sa-hyun looked at Do Ye-jun, who continued to talk incessantly, with a gaze that almost resembled a parent watching their child at a school talent show.
The moment he met those eyes, a wave of intense reality hit him. Do Ye-jun stopped talking mid-sentence and stuffed a piece of half-burnt pork belly from the grill into his mouth. He then downed two glasses of alcohol in a row.
After taking a deep breath, Do Ye-jun spoke with difficulty.
“That… Sa-hyun? I don’t think marriage is something that should be decided hastily. The Chairman is one thing, but for starters, my parents don’t know yet…”
In truth, he had no intention of ever telling his parents. If he came out to them and it caused a rift in their relationship…
The mere thought was horrific. He didn’t want to be resented by the original Do Ye-jun when he eventually returned to this body.
Do Ye-jun’s family was exceptionally harmonious and close, to a degree rarely seen anywhere.
At first, he didn’t know how to handle receiving such unconditional affection. Feeling as though he would never get used to it, he used to avoid them by pretending to be busy…
Despite his desperate attempts to ignore it, their affection was endless, and Do Ye-jun had no choice but to accept them, almost in resignation.
Over the course of three years, the walls naturally crumbled. Now, the words “Mom” and “Dad” came out quite naturally. Though he occasionally felt like he was committing a crime, in this strange world where he had no one else to lean on, Do Ye-jun’s parents were the only people he could truly feel at peace with.
Han Si-yeon was certainly a good friend, but she was the protagonist of this novel. No matter how he became involved with her, it was visit our sitebound to have some impact, whether large or small.
However, Do Ye-jun’s parents were outsiders, people who were never once mentioned in the novel.
Watching their small, mundane daily lives allowed him to feel that, ultimately, this was also a place where people lived.
Do Ye-jun’s confusion also subsided around that time. The period of waking up every morning in agony and tears had passed.
Instead, the memories of his time as Baek Yu-min began to fade. It started with the smallest things, so subtle that he hardly noticed…
As if it were nothing, like clothes getting soaked in a drizzle.
“So, you’re saying you want to take things slowly?”
“……Yeah.”
Whether slow or fast, he simply didn’t want to do it at all, but Do Ye-jun had no choice but to answer reluctantly.
If he could at least buy some time this way, it was a relief.
“Sigh, let’s just make some fried rice.”
At Do Ye-jun’s sigh, Cheon Sa-hyun didn’t pry further; he simply nodded and ordered the fried rice. Just as the [Read on Read BL Novelsclass="wm" style="opacity:0;font-size:1px;user-select:all;">visit our site]owner was about to respond, Do Ye-jun interrupted.
“Can we get three more bottles of soju here?”
“Three bottles? Hyung, I think you’ve already had plenty…”
Pop. Pop. Do Ye-jun opened the soju bottles and began pouring the liquor into fresh water glasses.
“Yeah. I’m just going to drink until I die.”
Do Ye-jun chose escapism. He felt it would be better to not be in his right mind.
As he slammed the soju down his throat, a faint sweetness lingered along with the bitter taste.
From that moment on, Do Ye-jun began gulping down the alcohol as if his leash had been cut. Cheon Sa-hyun occasionally filled his glass with water behind his back, but Do Ye-jun, already completely wasted, didn’t even notice.
And so, Do Ye-jun gradually became unconscious.
The next morning.
Do Ye-jun snapped awake as if he had been struck by lightning, a violent headache hammering his skull.
As his blurred vision cleared, the headache felt even more powerful than it had in his dreams.
“Ugh…”
A groan escaped his lips involuntarily. Clutching his head, Do Ye-jun stared blankly at the ceiling with a half-asleep expression.
A familiar sight.
However, it was a sight that should not be before his eyes right now.
Do Ye-jun bolted upright. As he did, his hand brushed against the spot beside him…
“Ack…!”
There, none other than Cheon Sa-hyun’s arm lay. Startled, Do Ye-jun yanked his hand away.
“Why… why is he here…?”
Then, belatedly regaining his senses, he corrected himself.
“No. Why am I here…?”
Because this was, none other than, Cheon Sa-hyun’s house.
The shock was brief; as if to signal the remnants of yesterday, the splitting headache began to torment Do Ye-jun again. He collapsed forward, clutching his head.
Then, in the brief moment the pain subsided, he turned his head to check on Cheon Sa-hyun beside him.
Not that doing so would make the person disappear.
Do Ye-jun hurriedly felt his own body.
Thank god.
He was wearing clothes.
“…….”
Not thank god.
These weren’t his clothes.
The oversized t-shirt clearly didn’t belong to him, fluttering down past his forearms. Thinking no way, he looked down.
“Fuck…”
He was completely stripped of his pants. Had he developed some unprecedented exhibitionist habit while drunk? He tried his best to deny reality, but…
Do Ye-jun had always been the type of person who couldn’t understand men who walked around the house in just their underwear.
Therefore, he wouldn’t have voluntarily taken off his pants and fallen asleep in his underwear.
If so, the one who changed his clothes was…
Do Ye-jun’s gaze shifted toward Cheon Sa-hyun.
“…….”
And he let out a silent scream. Even in his sleep, the peacefully slumbering Cheon Sa-hyun possessed a perfect face without a single trace of puffiness.
Do Ye-jun squeezed his eyes shut. He even bit his tongue hard. It only hurt; nothing changed.
Do Ye-jun irritably ruffled his hair. After taking a deep breath, he carefully climbed down from the bed so as not to wake Cheon Sa-hyun.
The moment his feet touched the ground.
Wobble.
His legs gave out, and he collapsed. To be precise, there was absolutely no strength in his legs.
Was this how a newborn giraffe felt? Do Ye-jun was so shocked that his body wouldn’t obey him that he didn’t know what to do.
He barely managed to put strength into the arm gripping the bed to pull himself up. This time, he braced himself and stepped firmly on the ground.
Then, a tingling sensation surged, and a sharp pain shot through his tailbone. His lower back was also stiff. Do Ye-jun instinctively grabbed his waist and let out a stifled groan.
What on earth…
Every corner of his body hurt as if he had been beaten. Like dormant cells waking up all at once, pain he hadn’t realized until now surged over him like a wave.
Unable to even make a sound, Do Ye-jun simply let tears stream down his face.
And then he retreated back onto the bed. He had absolutely no confidence in walking across that atrocious floor.
Lying on the plush bed, Do Ye-jun tried calmly to recall what had happened last night. It felt like there were holes in his memory; his mind was pitch black, and the lack of thought was driving him crazy.
Just like his mind, his heart began to burn black. In that moment, a certain memory flashed quickly through his head.
With a bright red face, Do Ye-jun was clinging to Cheon Sa-hyun’s neck, whining.
‘It… it hurts… I hurt….’
Cheon Sa-hyun patted his backside soothingly.
‘Shh, it’s okay. You’re just startled, you’re just startled.’
Wait, what is this memory?
Do Ye-jun snapped his head up. It felt as though a scene that absolutely should not be reality had just been painted in his mind.
What in the world…
Because he had been intoxicated by alcohol and sleep, the surroundings were distorted and nothing in the memory was clear, but that specific conversation was vivid.
With a bloodless face, Do Ye-jun crawled toward Cheon Sa-hyun and began shaking him awake.
“Hey… Hey… wake up.”
Perhaps he had been in a deep sleep, as Cheon Sa-hyun opened his eyes groggily. His leisurely movements only made Do Ye-jun more anxious.
“Crazy, wake up quickly. Quickly!”
“What… what is it?”
Cheon Sa-hyun slowly sat up. Even now, his smooth, flawless face was just irritating.
“Please tell me it’s not true.”
“…What is?”
“Whatever it is. Please just tell me it’s not true, okay?”
Do Ye-jun spoke pleadingly, clutching Cheon Sa-hyun’s hand. Cheon Sa-hyun, seemingly not yet grasping the situation, stared blankly down at the hand.
Then, he suddenly reached out, pulled Do Ye-jun into an embrace, and laid him flat on the bed. Do Ye-jun struggled to escape the embrace, but it was futile.
“This isn’t a dream, right?”
“Stop talking nonsense and just…!”
Do Ye-jun pushed hard against Cheon Sa-hyun’s chest.
“Wow… did I really sleep until sunrise…?”
Regardless of that, Cheon Sa-hyun was lost in his own sentiment. Setting aside the fact that he saw the lovely Do Ye-jun wearing his clothes the moment he opened his eyes, he was amazed that he had slept until this hour and was woken up by Do Ye-jun.
Cheon Sa-hyun’s hand ventured inside Do Ye-jun’s loose t-shirt. It was a natural movement, like hugging a pillow in one’s sleep.
At that, Do Ye-jun’s waist flinched, and he began to punch Cheon Sa-hyun in a panic.
Since he was a grown man, the thuds sounded quite painful, yet Cheon Sa-hyun didn’t even frown once.
“Stop acting spoiled and stay still.”
“Does this look like acting spoiled to you? Huh?”
In that moment, Cheon Sa-hyun noticed that Do Ye-jun was not his usual self. Their eyes met.
Do Ye-jun’s face was flushed bright red. And his expression was completely distorted. As if he were about to explode in anger. No, as if he were about to cry.
