[I don’t care if it’s a novel or whatever, I just want to get away from Cheon Sa-hyun. This guy is seriously no joke. I feel like I’ll get swept up in something if I stay close to him. How on earth has he lived his life until now?]
This was a memo he had written a year ago.
[Cheon Sa-hyun kept asking me why I keep being friends with Han Si-yeon. He demanded to know why I won’t abandon Han Si-yeon even though I hate being entangled with him. He even interrogated me, asking if I possibly liked Han Si-yeon. I desperately explained that I didn’t. But I couldn’t tell him the exact reason. I mean, how could I! That she’s the female lead and that’s why I’m sticking by her!]
This was a memo from roughly 8 months ago.
[Cheon Sa-hyun’s tantrums started again today. As soon as I saw a missed call, I got terrified and called back, only for him to ask if I’ve started taking him for granted now. Fuck, my hands were shaking because I was so scared, what the hell is he talking about? Strangely, though, he didn’t ask about Han Si-yeon today. I think I need to keep an eye on the situation.]
This was from 6 months ago.
[The frequency of contact and meetings with Cheon Sa-hyun has increased significantly. Today, he barely mentioned Han Si-yeon. In fact, when I brought her up first, he seemed indifferent and changed the subject. What’s going on?]
This was also from 6 months ago.
[Baek Gang-hyeok disobeyed Cheon Sa-hyun’s instructions and changed his work method as he pleased. Apparently, the results were better than before. Sure, up to this point, I can chalk it up to the male lead buff. The main male lead is supposed to be better than the second male lead, after all. The problem is that Cheon Sa-hyun told me this himself. How the hell am I supposed to react? He doesn’t seem particularly angry… or does he? I can’t tell because I don’t know what’s going on in his head. For now, I should keep a close eye on whether Baek Gang-hyeok is still alive. Cheon Sa-hyun might get rid of him without anyone ever knowing…]
That was 5 months ago.
[Fortunately, it seems Baek Gang-hyeok didn’t die. He even got promoted. Baek Gang-hyeok became a team leader. However, Cheon Sa-hyun isn’t taking any particular action. Rather, he seems to find Cheon Jae-min’s arrogance more eyesore-inducing. It’s true that Cheon Jae-min is a bit unlucky, but… still, it’s Baek Gang-hyeok? He’s the male lead?]
That was 4 months ago.
[Baek Gang-hyeok and Han Si-yeon have started dating publicly. They’ve become the official office couple. I’m happy. I’m happy, but I’m scared. I’m fucking terrified. Cheon Sa-hyun looks like a time bomb. He isn’t saying much, but it feels like he’ll explode soon. What if Han Si-yeon gets kidnapped? Ah, Baek Gang-hyeok said he’s going on a business trip soon! The timing is too perfect. Wow, I really need to keep my wits about me. For now, I should make some excuse and stay at Han Si-yeon’s place. Otherwise, I feel like she’ll be dragged away without a trace.]
This was 3 months and 2 weeks ago.
[Cheon Sa-hyun asked where I was, and when I told him I was staying at Han Si-yeon’s house, he got angry and asked why I was staying there. I lied and said my water was cut off, and he told me to stay at his house. Thinking he might perceive me as a romantic rival or something, I desperately explained myself, and then he told me he’d booked a hotel for me and to go rest there. I felt like if I provoked him any further, my life would fly away before Han Si-yeon’s, so I just said okay.]
As expected, this was also 3 months and 2 weeks ago.
[I’m staying at the hotel Cheon Sa-hyun booked, and he visits about once a day. From my perspective, it’s a stroke of luck that he shows up of his own accord. I’m contacting Han Si-yeon once every 3 hours, and fortunately, it doesn’t seem like she’s been kidnapped yet. But Han Si-yeon is finding me a bit annoying. That’s too much. Someone is going through all this hell to save her…]
This was also a memo from around that time.
And…
[I kissed Cheon Sa-hyun. Huh? Cheon Sa-hyun said he likes me. Huh? He even said it’s been a while. Huh? What? Is this some new kind of threat? Or was I too drunk? Or was Cheon Sa-hyun too drunk? No, that can’t be right. I didn’t have a single drop of alcohol today. Did something happen to my brain? Huh? What is this, seriously?]
This was a memo from roughly 2 months ago.
While it seemed like something had gone very wrong, the fact that Cheon Sa-hyun stepped out of the romance line meant that the romance between Han Si-yeon and Baek Gang-hyeok was perfectly completed.
Do Ye-jun clutched his head and stared at his memos for a long time.
The memo stating that he kissed Cheon Sa-hyun was a chaotic [visit our site]mess of scribbles, perhaps because it was written while he was drunk. The handwriting vividly preserved the confusion of that moment.
And that confusion had not yet left Do Ye-jun.
“Right, well. The one Cheon Sa-hyun likes is Do Ye-jun, right? I mean, of course, that doesn’t make the fact make sense, but? He said he likes Do Ye-jun, right? And strictly speaking, I’m not Do Ye-jun? I’ll be going back soon? Then Cheon Sa-hyun and I will be completely unrelated, right?”
Do Ye-jun began to mutter to himself in the air to convince himself.
“So, all I have to do is get out of here…”
Vibrate, vibrate, vibrate.
Finally, an hour had passed, and his phone began to ring.
-Hello?
As soon as he answered, Cheon Sa-hyun’s on Read BL Novels">le="opacity:0;font-size:0;">Read on Read BL Novelsvoice was heard. Do Ye-jun swallowed hard and replied.
“Yeah.”
-Wait, Hyung. I can’t see the screen well.
‘Ah, right.’
Having completely forgotten that he was on a video call, Do Ye-jun pulled the phone away from his ear. Then he turned the screen toward himself.
“I forgot it was a video call.”
-Ah, is that so? How cute.
Cheon Sa-hyun covered his mouth and laughed.
He was leaning back on the sofa, wearing navy blue silk pajamas. His light brown hair boasted a gloss even in the low resolution [stolen Read on Read BL Novelscontent]of the phone, and his smooth skin went without saying.
Cheon Sa-hyun was so handsome that it made Do Ye-jun think that this level of appearance was necessary to be considered a male lead in a romance novel.
Do Ye-jun could willingly give a perfect score to every single one of his external features.
In comparison, Do Ye-jun, a supporting character with little screen time, had looks that were slightly better than average. To be precise, thanks to the romance novel buff, his appearance was quite decent, but everything else was a mess.
Because the original character the author set for Do Ye-jun was a graduate student nerd who didn’t know how to groom himself. When he first became Do Ye-jun and looked in the mirror, he thought he was a shut-in because of the shaggy hair that covered his eyes.
Well, in reality, Do Ye-jun’s daily life was similar to that of a shut-in.
Even Do Ye-jun’s closet was filled with nothing but checkered shirts. Or t-shirts with awkward fits.
Of course, currently, all of those had been kicked out of Do Ye-jun’s closet.
Cheon Sa-hyun, staring intently through the screen at Do Ye-jun, tilted his head to the side.
-Did you not dry your hair? It’s all sticking up.
“Ah, yeah. I forgot.”
Do Ye-jun gave an awkward smile while touching his stiff, dried hair. He had been so immersed in reviewing the contents of his notebook that he forgot to dry his hair.
-You look like a newborn crow, it’s cute.
Should I take the comment about looking like a newborn crow as a compliment or as teasing…?
“……Really?”
Do Ye-jun gave an awkward reaction a beat late.
-Yeah. But what were you doing that made you forget to dry your hair? It seems like it’s stolen contentour site" style="display:none;" aria-label="visit our site">visit our sitebeen a while since you came out of the shower.
In an instant, a strange glint appeared in Cheon Sa-hyun’s eyes. Do Ye-jun froze as if he had been hit right on the mark.
“Ah…”
-If you came out early, why didn’t you call me first? Not knowing that, I kept waiting for the hour to pass. Sometimes I want to be the one to receive a call from you first, Hyung.
To an outsider, it might have sounded like the cute whining of a lover. But the problem was that Cheon Sa-hyun was saying this to Do Ye-jun.
-Hmm? What were you doing that you couldn’t?
“Ah… a, a package! I was receiving a package. I was going to open it earlier, but I went to shower because I couldn’t check it while talking to you. So I couldn’t call because I was opening that.”
Do Ye-jun barely managed to escape the crisis with his improvisation. A chill ran down his spine as goosebumps rose.
-I see. What kind of package is it?
“Huh?”
-What kind of package is it? I’m curious too. Tell me.
This was a problem. He hadn’t thought that far. Do Ye-jun’s eyes quickly scanned his room.
For starters, everything currently in this space was something Cheon Sa-hyun already knew about.
“It’s, it’s in the living room!”
Although it was a small studio apartment where a single room was connected to the living room and kitchen, Do Ye-jun jumped up from his seat and opened the door.
Cheon Sa-hyun chuckled, finding it amusing.
-Wow, looking at it like this, it’s a bit messy.
“Really? Is it better if I hold it like this?”
Do Ye-jun held the phone higher to adjust the angle.
-It’s nice that I can see your face well.
“But my arm hurts.”
-Is that so? That’s not good. Isn’t there somewhere you can prop it up?
“……Hold on.”
Do Ye-jun pulled out the fold-down table attached to the wall. Then he placed a pot that had been turned upside down after washing on top of it and leaned the phone against it.
However, it didn’t go as planned, and the phone kept sliding down.
“Ah, it’s not working well… wait a second.”
And while moving busily on his own, taking this and that out, he went into the room and brought back a few major textbooks. After stacking the textbooks neatly and leaning the phone against them, the phone was fixed and no longer slid.
