Chapter 92 – 92
Even though Gail went out of his way to provoke him, Euro merely smiled without much reaction, prompting Gail to shift his posture as if intrigued.
When Gail first learned that his father had issued a marriage imperial edict to Norden without a word of warning, he felt as if his heart had dropped to the floor.
However, when he later discovered that it was Euro, not Clope, who had headed for Silon, only one thought crossed Gail’s mind.
It was a suspicion: what on earth was that bastard thinking, going there? When he rushed to Norden, he found Clope wailing her heart out, speaking of Euro.
While hugging and comforting Clope as she blamed herself for everything, Gail felt relieved that it was Euro and not her who had gone to Silon.
Yet, no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t find a reason. Euro Leches was absolutely not the kind of man who would risk his life in Clope’s stead. There was no way that lunatic would ever do such a thing.
Euro Leches was a man who had abandoned even [unauthorized copy]his own homeland of Norden, drowning himself in drugs and alcohol. He was so visit our sitedevoid of propriety that the King had openly forbidden him from any public activities.
Not to mention his friction with Gail, and judging by how he treated Clope, he wasn’t even human. While he hadn’t inflicted direct physical harm, every word and action of his certainly crossed the line.
The only reason Gail had left him alone was truly because of Clope. He was a man Gail intended to kill and erase the moment the marriage was settled, and even if he hadn’t, Clope’s siblings would have done so.
Euro Leches must have known it himself. Being a discarded son with no choice but to die eventually, that was likely why he behaved so recklessly.
But even so, the idea of him risking his life for someone else made no sense. No matter how many times he considered it, it was impossible.
“What are you thinking?”
“……Is my sister doing well?”
At Euro’s question, Gail’s face didn’t just stiffen; it twisted slightly.
“Answer the question I asked.”
“That was my answer, Your Highness.”
“Oh, really?”
“…….”
“Do you want to hear that she’s alive and well thanks to you, or something like that?”
Gail made no effort to hide his displeasure. He glared at Euro as if he might kill him on the spot, and Euro looked back at him and spoke.
“How could that be thanks to me? I went to Silon because I wanted to.”
“That’s why I’m asking why you went.”
“There is a clear reason, but it would be difficult to tell you right now.”
“What?”
As he spoke, Euro turned his head to look at the servants standing in the drawing room. Frowning at Euro’s behavior, Gail waved his hand.
“All of you, get out.”
“……Your Highness, but.”
“I said get out. Don’t make me say it twice.”
At Gail’s fierce shout, the hesitating servants all filed out of the drawing room. Only Euro and Gail remained in the large room, and as soon as the door closed, Gail spoke to Euro.
“It’s like you’ve become a different person.”
“…….”
“Talking to you still makes me feel unpleasant, but something is different. Did you actually learn some manners? Strangely, you’re saying exactly what I want to hear.”
If Euro had come at him saying Clope was alive thanks to him, Gail had intended to kill him so quietly that not even a mouse or bird would know. But Euro had given an unexpected answer.
How should he put it—it felt as if he now valued his own life. He was starkly different from the Euro Leches in Gail’s memory, who lived as if there were no tomorrow.
“Now, go ahead and spill it. I’ve been so curious I couldn’t sleep.”
“Yes.”
Euro answered obediently and suddenly raised his hand to begin unbuttoning his shirt. At this sight, Gail’s face contorted fiercely.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing right now?”
“I intend to show you directly.”
“Hey, wait—!”
Tuk, tuk. After undoing the buttons, Euro pulled his shirt wide open to one side. His bare skin was fully exposed, and Gail turned his head as if he had seen something obscene, shouting irritably.
“Are you crazy? Put that back on this instant!”
“Don’t be like that and just look.”
“Look at what, damn it! You’re a complete psycho! Is this how you manipulated Duke Spioren too?”
“Your Highness, stop overreacting and just look. Aren’t we both men?”
“I don’t want to! Did you play along with me just to do this? Stop it before I actually stab you.”
“……Then shall I just stay like this? I’m just asking you to look.”
I might actually just stab him, Gail thought, turning his head away in rising irritation. Then, as if he had been waiting, Euro pointed to a mole below his collarbone.
“You know what this is, don’t you?”
“…….”
“Just in case, I’ll tell you—it’s not drawn on.”
As he spoke, Euro deliberately rubbed the mole vigorously. He rubbed it until the skin around the red dot turned flushed, but the mark did not fade.
“If you don’t believe me, I can prove it by singing a song.”
Gail, who had been throwing a fit about not wanting to look just a moment ago, was now staring silently at the mole. At this, Euro felt somewhat displeased and quickly buttoned his shirt.
“……I was under the impression [unauthorized copy]stolen contentthat it’s not an ability that connects through blood.”
“It happened to turn out that way.”
“Prove it.”
Gail, who seemed half-dazed, shook his head and spoke.
“There’s no way your father didn’t know you had a healing ability. And yet he just let you go to Silon?”
“As you know, I cannot prove it with my own body.”
“Then call anyone in and—”
“That won’t work either.”
“Are you joking with me?”
“It wouldn’t be a good thing for Your Highness either.”
Gail, who had been shouting in anger, fell silent at Euro’s calm response. Given the circumstances, no one knew that Euro possessed a healing ability.
He had never heard such a thing even from Clope. That meant Euro had lived his life keeping this fact perfectly hidden. However, that didn’t mean he could take it at face value.
“Then what am I supposed to do?”
“You have to do it yourself.”
“You want me to wound my own body?”
“Just a small one. Your Highness, think about it carefully. Why would I be confessing this fact to you?”
“…….”
“Even His Grace the Duke does not know.”
“What?”
“Aren’t you curious about how far I can go?”
“……This is driving me crazy.”
Gail could read the implication of Euro’s words. The reason for revealing this to him was that it could be used as a trump card.
If so, this was something that must not be shown to anyone. Not even to a trusted subordinate. A person with a healing ability—and judging by Euro’s words, it seemed he could even lift a dragon’s curse.
If that were true, it was a truly magnificent power. Perhaps he could even bring back the dead.
“You mentioned stabbing me earlier; you have a knife, right?”
“If this doesn’t heal, I’m really going to kill you.”
“It’s just a matter of nicking a fingertip, why go as far as killing……”
“No?”
“……Pardon?”
“I’m also going to verify for myself how great this ability is, and you’re suggesting a mere fingertip?”
Before Euro could stop him, Gail stood up and brought a dagger. He roughly threw the sheath onto the floor and rolled up his sleeve without hesitation.
“Your Highness, please don’t make it too big……”
“Why, are you worried? Tell me now if you’re lying.”
“With all due respect, it is not Your Highness I am worried about, but myself.”
“…….”
“Please don’t go too deep; this ability consumes my own life force. I don’t want to shave off my lifespan for a mere test.”
Euro spoke firmly, and Gail let out a hollow laugh. Such a detailed excuse—if it were a lie, he had incredible nerve.
“Was what you did to Duke Spioren not a test?”
“…….”
“You must have had to test it at least once. What were you going to do if he died in the process?”
Muttering this, Gail suddenly sliced a long gash across his forearm. The razor-sharp [unauthorized copy]blade cut deep into [unauthorized copy]the skin, and soon, blood began to drip in heavy droplets.
“……I told you to do it moderately. How are you going to explain away all this blood?”
“It hurts, so hurry up.”
“…….”
“I’ll just say it’s my blood.”
Gail didn’t seem to be in much pain. It was almost unbelievable, but seeing the flowing blood, there was no time to hesitate.
Euro immediately took Gail’s hand and began to sing. As always, it was the survival theme song that was ingrained in his mind.
Listening to the unfamiliar music, Gail stared at his bleeding wound. Then, something magical unfolded before his eyes. As if time were being reversed, the deep laceration began to close.
It couldn’t even be described as ‘healing.’ It would be more accurate to [stolen content]say it vanished perfectly without leaving a [Read on Read BL Novels]single trace. All [unauthorized copy]that remained was the blood that had soaked his forearm.
Because the sharp blade had dug in deep, a considerable amount of blood had flowed. Red circles had formed on the table and the carpet. Yet, he didn’t even feel dizzy. It meant that it wasn’t simply the wound that had closed.
The moment the wound disappeared and the bleeding stopped, Euro stopped singing. Fortunately, he felt no particular abnormality in his body. It seemed this level of healing didn’t put a strain on him.
If so, he couldn’t even imagine how deep and powerful the curse Larry had cast was.
“Certainly, at this level, you could even remove a curse.”
Gail marveled with pure admiration, but that was a comment he could only make because he didn’t know the truth. However, Euro deliberately did not correct him.
Because Gail misunderstanding it in this way was exactly what he wanted.
