Chapter 34 – 34
Rattle, rattle.
Knowing full well that it was locked, he turned the doorknob several times before irritably turning away. He then flung open the door to his own bedroom and headed straight for the room next door.
No matter how much he thought about it, it didn’t seem like a dream. There was no headache that struck like a sharp pain the moment he opened his eyes, and to begin with, he had never slept for this long before.
It was the first refreshing morning he had experienced in years, yet for some reason, he felt foul. Thus, he wanted Euro to confirm what had happened to him last night.
However, when he burst into Euro’s bedroom, no one was there. Melione could not contain the anger that surged within him for no apparent reason.
He had no idea what was going on. It could have simply been a damn dream about Euro. But that made no sense. He had never once looked at Euro in that way.
And yet, he had held the Euro in his dream like a madman. The closer he pulled him, the clearer his mind became. In the end, intoxicated by that comfort, he had lost consciousness even within the dream.
Something must have been done to him. It couldn’t be otherwise. He couldn’t accept the fact that he had dreamed of intertwining his body with Euro, nor could he accept that he had woken up in an impossibly good physical condition despite having such a dream.
As he clenched his fists, seized by an [unauthorized copy]indescribable feeling of discomfort, he suddenly sensed a presence behind him. Turning his head, he found Raymond there.
“Your Excellency?”
“Where is he.”
It was an abrupt question, but Raymond immediately grasped the answer to the mystery.
“He is likely on the second floor.”
“Why there?”
“He mentioned that he slept on the second floor last night. He said he couldn’t sleep because the bedroom he shares with you felt somewhat unfamiliar…”
“…”
“Your Excellency?”
Without even listening to the end of Raymond’s explanation, Melione headed straight for the second floor. Raymond followed him, puzzled by the strange reaction, but soon stopped his pace.
It was because, halfway up the stairs, Melione suddenly turned his head and asked.
“What time is it now?”
“It is a bit past eleven.”
“What?”
“Since you seemed to be sleeping deeply… did something happen last night?”
Raymond asked cautiously, gauging Melione’s reaction. At this, Melione let out a hollow laugh and stared up the stairs.
“I’ll find out if I ask.”
Melione climbed the stairs again. With fast strides, he headed without hesitation toward the guest room where Euro was staying.
Striding down the hallway and stopping in front of Euro’s room, he turned the doorknob without hesitation. Unlike before, the door opened without resistance, and inside were Euro and Kisha.
Euro was holding the inside of Kisha’s front paw, who was sitting, when he whipped his head around at the sound of the door opening. Standing there was Melione, looking somewhat disheveled.
“Your Excellency?”
“Why are you here?”
At Melione’s question, Euro let go of Kisha’s paw and quickly stood up to answer.
“Uh, well… I’ve been staying here for a bit, because this room is comfortable.”
“…”
“I couldn’t sleep last night. So I slept here… is something the matter?”
Euro slowly approached and stood before Melione. Melione gazed intently at him.
Perhaps because morning had long since passed, he was dressed in a shirt and trousers. Euro looked impeccably neat, to the point where yesterday’s appearance was unimaginable.
“Your Excellency?”
“…Did nothing happen during the night?”
Melione suppressed his boiling anger. In truth, he couldn’t even [unauthorized copy]understand why he was so angry.
“Uh, well.”
“…”
“You were tossing and turning a bit. I thought it might be because I was next to you, so I stepped away. It seemed like you were uncomfortable sharing a bed with someone.”
“Other than that.”
“…Not particularly?”
Euro seemed to truly know nothing. His face looked as if it had “What are you talking about all of a sudden?” written all over it. At this, Melione felt his strength drain away; he turned his head and let out a long sigh.
“Did you sleep well last night?”
At the innocent question, Melione frowned slightly and turned his head back. Euro had a bright, smiling face, and facing that face, a strange emotion bloomed within Melione.
“Do I look like I did?”
It was a strange question, but Euro nodded nonchalantly.
“Yes, for some reason your complexion looks good. Raymond said you’ve never slept this deeply before.”
“…”
“Perhaps the kurn tea suited your body?”
Tea. Right, he had drunk something like that. Melione suddenly remembered the red tea water Euro had given him last night. The tea, which had been bland with no distinct taste, had been filled with a sweet fragrance.
“…What were you doing?”
Melione changed the subject for no reason. In response to his question, Euro smiled, looking at Kisha, who was sitting behind him and staring this way.
“Kisha has been sleeping here lately. We slept together last night too. So we were just relaxing and talking as we always do.”
“You slept together?”
“Yes, although they don’t actually get onto the bed.”
At those words, Melione let out a hollow laugh. So, while he was having such a strange dream at stolen contenthis age, Euro had spent the [Read on Read BL Novels]night in a room with something like a tiger.
It was absurd and ridiculous, and at the same time, it felt strangely unpleasant that the place Euro had reached because he was uncomfortable by his side was next to a tiger.
“Do not let it on the bed.”
“Pardon?”
“I am saying do not share a bed with a beast.”
“Ah, that’s…”
“…”
“It’s not like I can push Kisha away if they decide to climb up.”
Kisha was not a person, but an animal. And a massive animal at that. Therefore, if Kisha decided to settle and lie on the bed, Euro did not have the strength to push them off.
As Euro replied in a shrinking voice, looking troubled, Melione spoke toward Kisha, who was sitting behind and staring at him strangely.
“Do not go on the bed.”
“…”
“That is not a place for you to sleep.”
He barked coldly and turned around, leaving the room. Euro watched Melione’s retreating back with a bewildered expression before quickly closing the door.
Only then did a sense of relief wash over him. Fortunately, it seemed Melione had accepted that everything that happened in the early morning was a dream. Euro’s legs gave out, and he slumped onto the floor, only to knit his brows at a sudden, stinging dull pain.
“Ugh, ugh… it hurts.”
Honestly, it felt like death. When Melione suddenly appeared and he had to spring up and walk as if nothing were wrong, he had been screaming every kind of scream internally.
A vivid sense of foreignness still remained. Occasionally, his lower abdomen tightened coldly, and so throughout the time he was awake, Euro had been nodding off like a sick chicken.
However, while it might have been different if it were Melione, who had taken medicine, Euro feared that if he were seen dozing off from exhaustion, Melione might think last night wasn’t a dream, so he fought the sleep with all his might.
‘The early morning was truly a war.’
At some point, Melione had fallen into a sleep without a visit our sitetrace. He was so motionless that it seemed [stolen content]the medicine had finally taken full effect.
Thus, Euro had held his aching waist, stood up, and handled the cleanup. He had struggled to flip Melione’s limp body over to lay him correctly, then wetted a towel and wiped his body clean.
Then, he dressed him neatly again and covered him with a blanket. Since the room was filled with a mixture of scented oil and a strange aroma, he didn’t forget to secretly open the window to ventilate.
What worried him was the smell of scented oil remaining on the sheets. Since there was no deodorizer, what should he do? While he was pacing anxiously, he suddenly realized that the blanket in Melione’s bedroom was the same as the one in his own bedroom.
So, Euro quickly went to his own bedroom, rolled up a large blanket, brought it over, and swapped it with the original one.
After that, he went up to the second floor, took a secret bath, and fell into a dead sleep.
‘It was a bit awkward cleaning up alone in the bathroom… but I’m glad he doesn’t seem to have noticed.’
Euro approached Kisha, almost crawling, and lay flat on the floor. Then Kisha also lay down and rested their face on Euro’s waist.
“Kisha, that’s heavy.”
Prung, Kisha let out a sound like a snort. At this, Euro, with his cheek pressed against the floor, chuckled.
“Right? I’m glad I didn’t get caught. I [stolen content]really thought I was going to die from the exhaustion.”
No matter if Kisha was an animal, he couldn’t tell them every detailed thing that happened in the early morning. But if he didn’t tell anyone, a corner of his heart felt aching, so Euro sat holding onto Kisha and talked.
It was mostly about how he had sung a song to the Duke last night and how he had struggled to keep it from being discovered.
“I’m so glad Kisha is here,” Euro murmured in a small voice.
“Even after I leave this place, I’ll really miss you, Kisha.”
At those words, Kisha this time placed one front paw thuddingly on Euro’s waist. Euro groaned, frowning.
“Ugh, really heavy. Okay, okay. I’ll write letters.”
Knowing full well that no matter how smart Kisha was, they wouldn’t be able to read letters, Euro blinked and spoke thus. Because, in any case, the option of not leaving did not exist.
