229 – TIO Side Story 6

“Where is Secretary Park?”

Just as the employee was about to answer Chief Secretary Kang, Han Yechan burst open the door to the Director’s Office.

“Seung-jae!”

He had always called him Director Han in front of the employees, but Han Yechan was currently in such a great mood that he forgot even that. However, it was short-lived.

As Han Yechan looked around the empty office, the employee’s voice came from behind him.

“……Director Han did not come to work today.”

“What?”

As the laughter vanished from Han Yechan’s face, wrinkles formed around his mouth. He clicked his tongue.

“To leave his post for a mere matter like this.”

Tsk. My good mood is ruined. Han Yechan slammed the door of the empty Director’s Office shut.

“……What? Yi-kyung had the baby yesterday?”

Jin Seon-yu, eyes wide, pressed the phone closer to his ear. Kwon Gwi-jun spoke.

[You didn’t know? I heard it from my father. I thought you’d know. I was going to ask when you’re going to the hospital, but it seems you really had no idea.]

“Uh… I didn’t know.”

Jin Seon-yu couldn’t seem to close his mouth. He had guessed that Seo Yi-kyung’s child would be born soon, but he hadn’t been able to meet him recently, which made it harder.

After finishing the call with Kwon Gwi-jun, he flung open his room door and ran down to the first floor.

Looking around, Jin Seon-yu charged fiercely toward Jin Seok-young, who was sitting on the sofa. Without even catching his breath, Jin Seon-yu rattled off.

“Second Hyung! Yi-kyung had the baby, why didn’t you tell me? Did you not know either?”

Jin Seok-young snapped his head back and glared with sharp eyes.

“Stay quietly at home!”

Jin Seon-yu hadn’t even mentioned going out to see Seo Yi-kyung yet, but Jin Seok-young immediately nailed him down as if preemptively restricting him.

“No, really, what do you all think I’m going to do to Yi-kyung that everyone is like this?”

Jin Tae-won had been preventing Jin Seon-yu from meeting Seo Yi-kyung. For good [unauthorized copy]visit our siteunauthorized copy -->reason—Seo Yi-kyung had been stabbed inside this very house. And [stolen content]wasn’t that an incident caused by Jin Seon-yu?

Therefore, as the time for the baby’s birth approached, he had been stopping Jin Seon-yu from visiting the house and meeting Seo Yi-kyung.

“Aren’t we going to the hospital to see the baby? I won’t go alone; I’ll go with you when you go, Second Hyung. Huh? That works, right?”

Flushed, Jin Seon-yu’s excitement from the news he heard from Kwon Gwi-jun would not subside.

“Why would I go see Director Han’s child’s face?”

It was strictly Han Seung-jae’s family matter. Furthermore, it was a private affair. There was absolutely no reason for Jin Seok-young to go to the hospital with the troublemaker Jin Seon-yu in tow. Especially to see a baby.

If he did that, he’d be perfectly positioned to get slapped three times by Jin Tae-won. One for Jin Seon-yu leaving the house, one for going to the hospital where Seo Yi-kyung was, and one for asking if his brain was just a decoration.

Truly, Jin Seok-young was the only one likely to be beaten to death here and there. Thus, all Jin Seok-young needed to do was send a congratulatory gift to Han Seung-jae’s residence.

Since a happy event had occurred, he would send something material to express his congratulations—maintaining exactly that appropriate boundary. He had even gifted a car to Seo Yi-kyung before, as Jin Seon-yu had suggested, to smooth over Jin Seon-yu’s accident.

Jin Seon-yu placed both hands on the back of the sofa and pleaded with Jin Seok-young.

“Second Hyuuuung. I want to see Yi-kyung’s face! And see the baby’s face while I’m at it—. Huh? I’ll just see them and come right back. I’m just so worried about Yi-kyung.”

Normally, he would have sent at least a message.

Since there had been no contact from Seo Yi-kyung, Jin Seon-yu was worried. And with a bit of selfish desire, since unauthorized copyhe was going there anyway, he might as well see the baby’s face!

The baby must look like Yi-kyung, so how pretty would they be?

Haseon Hospital.

Outside the hospital room window, it was dim. Neon lights seeped through the gap where the curtains didn’t meet.

The door opened, and Secretary Park stepped inside. He walked leisurely through the darkened room.

Secretary Park approached Han Seung-jae, who was sitting in the chair by the bed, and whispered lowly in his ear.

Han Seung-jae turned his head slightly. His sharp eyes were freezing.

“Who is it?”

“I apologize. They visited so suddenly that I was unable to prepare in advance.”

Han Seung-jae rose from the chair. Behind him, bandages were wrapped around both palms of the sleeping Seo Yi-kyung. He would occasionally regain consciousness and wake up, only to fall back asleep as if replenishing his depleted strength.

Step. Han Seung-jae stopped walking.

He captured Han Yechan, who was standing in the corridor, in his razor-sharp gaze. Secretary Park Read on Read BL Novelsstyle="position:absolute;left:-9999px;font-size:0;">[unauthorized copy]style="position:relative;display:inline;">[stolen content]looked in the same direction behind him.

Standing by the glass window, Han Yechan was looking at the baby being held by a nurse. He had come without any notice. Even Secretary Park had only been notified after Han Yechan arrived at Haseon Hospital, and then informed Han Seung-jae.

Han Yechan spoke.

“Does the eye shape resemble Seung-jae? The nose seems to as well, and the ears…”

“Overall, it seems the child takes after Director Han perfectly.”

Chief Secretary Kang, who had been exchanging words with Han Yechan, turned his head. He looked at the standing Han Seung-jae and stepped away from the glass window, bowing.

“Congratulations, Director Han.”

Han Yechan glanced over. However, even after making eye contact with Han Seung-jae, he turned his head back toward the inside of the glass. He clicked his tongue.

“Tsk. To be absent for two whole days over a mere matter like this…”

But that wouldn’t cause any problems for the company. And Secretary Park was filtering and reporting only the things Han Seung-jae absolutely needed to see.

Nevertheless, Han Yechan found Han Seung-jae’s attitude displeasing. The fact that the born baby was an extreme dominant Alpha was a family celebration and a very joyful event, but there was no reason for Han Seung-jae to leave his post and stay here at the hospital.

There were doctors, and there was a butler. Everyone should perform their own duty. Therefore, Han Seung-jae should prioritize external affairs. After all, it was just an Omega giving birth to a baby.

Han Yechan gestured toward the glass.

“Wake Eun-ho up.”

‘Eun-ho’ was the baby’s name contained in the envelope Han Yechan had sent to Han Seung-jae as a notification.

“Can’t you hear me? I said wake Eun-ho up!”

Han Yechan glared at the attending physician beside him, as if reprimanding the nurse who seemingly couldn’t understand his words.

The physician was standing next to the nurse holding the baby. He was the one who had informed Secretary Park that President Han had arrived.

The baby was fast asleep in the nurse’s arms.

“It is not Eun-ho, but Ji-un.”

And Han Seung-jae had absolutely no intention of accepting that.

“What?”

Han Seung-jae stepped closer, maintaining a certain distance from Han Yechan as he added,

“If you want to name the child, go ahead and have another one. Why is someone who didn’t even give birth trying to name the baby?”

Late at night, tension hung in the air of the deserted hallway. There was no one here who could possibly stolen contentintervene in the c[Read on Read BL Novels]site">visit our siteonversation between the father and son.

Chief Secretary Kang and Secretary Park could only watch as the two faced off. Furthermore, the attending physician watching the scene from inside the glass was equally distressed.

He was currently trembling with anxiety, walking on eggshells around Han Seung-jae. Hadn’t it taken nine hours for Seo Yi-kyung to give birth? He remembered vividly how Han Seung-jae’s gaze had turned scathing based on that alone.

It was likely only because the born baby was this healthy and unscathed, and because Seo Yi-kyung was recovering from his exhausted state, that Han Seung-jae wasn’t holding the attending physician accountable.

Moreover, if it had been anyone else, Han Seung-jae would never have allowed them to see the baby without his permission. However, Han Yechan was not just anyone. He was Han Seung-jae’s father and one of the people providing massive donations to this Haseon Hospital.

That was why the physician had hurriedly contacted Secretary Park and, feeling as if he were walking barefoot on a path of thorns, had reluctantly allowed him to see the baby. But it seemed a disaster was bound to happen tonight after all.

“Ugh…”

The physician didn’t know what to do. He stole a glance downward, taking in the sight of the peacefully sleeping baby.

As expected, he couldn’t possibly do something like wake the baby.

With an anxious gaze, the physician watched Han Seung-jae’s sharp profile. Just as he thought Han Seung-jae was turning his head, the man gestured.

The physician understood the meaning behind that short motion.

“Now, please take the young master back to his place.”

“Yes.”

The nurse turned around while holding the baby in her arms. The physician brought the curtains from both sides and closed them. Finally, he cut the tightrope he had been walking between the two men. The physician had chosen Director Han.
