What is he talking about? I just looked normally as I was coming up. As expected of brothers, both the big one and the small one are equally unpleasant when they speak. Nevertheless, as I just smiled awkwardly, hiding my true feelings, the second brother, who had been looking at me for a moment, suddenly smiled and approached.
“Ah, he’s really a fucking piece of work. Right?”
“He’s always like that.”
“I actually like you today.”
I didn’t particularly want to be liked by the second brother, but it was still better than him throwing punches while venting his anger.
“I’m in a good mood. Follow me.”
Wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me roughly, the second brother spoke. I didn’t know where we were going, nor did I have any desire to go anywhere with him. As if my will didn’t matter, he dragged me down the garden stairs I had just climbed.
“I just got home. I should go inside…”
“I actually like you for once, so don’t be a prick. You’re not some animal that only listens after being beaten, are you?”
Does he mean he’ll beat me if I don’t listen? I kept my mouth shut and followed the second brother. I don’t know where we’re going, but I just hope he doesn’t drag me into some trouble. I’m just a person who wants to live a quiet, long life, as if I’m barely there.
The second brother’s car was waiting outside the main gate. Seeing the second brother dragging me out, the man who was his driver and attendant looked a bit bewildered.
“Do you intend to accompany the youngest Young Master?”
“Yeah, he did something I actually liked for once. I’m going to give him a good experience.”
“Perhaps it would be better to leave the youngest Young Master behind…”
“Are you ignoring me too? I’m already in a shitty mood, and now you’re grating on me too?”
He is definitely a man consumed by a victim mentality. I was impressed by his ability to misinterpret words of concern to that extent. Contrary to that impression, my worry grew as to where he was taking me that the driver recommended leaving me behind.
“I am sorry. Please get in.”
As if it wasn’t the first or second time, the attendant opened the back door and let me and the second brother in. Leaving the middle seat empty, we sat side by side, and I cast my gaze out the window in discomfort. Even if I asked where we were going, it was clear I wouldn’t get an answer, let alone a kind one.
“Why is life so fucking shitty? Father only dotes on that brother, and that brother actually thinks he’s something. Aside from being the firstborn, what the fuck is he better than me at? Fuck, what a shitty world.”
It’s not that the world is acting shitty, but that the small one is acting shitty toward the world. If there’s someone who should disappear for the sake of world peace, it’s probably the small one.
“Your father, who changed his fate by seducing an Alpha, probably doesn’t think anything of it. You’ll probably do the same thing as your father. You bastards who are like male prostitutes, spreading your legs for Alphas to get money.”
Since the Omega father’s house was dirt poor, I wondered if he’d received some grand sum of money by marrying an Alpha father. I didn’t know what exactly had been given to him for people to say he’d completely changed his fate.
It was almost laughable, considering he wasn’t even the one who provided the money, and that the younger one was equally destined to bleed the Alpha father dry.
Hiding my absurdity, I checked the screen of my phone as it rang. It was Lee Kyung-jin. He must be looking for me since I hadn’t appeared after he finished parking and entered the house.
“Yes, Mr. Lee.”
—Young Master. Where are you? Are you still in the garden by any chance?
“No, I ran into my second Hyung on the way up. He seemed to be heading somewhere and said he’d take me with him. So I’m currently in his car.”
—Ah… You should have been home by now, so I was worried when I didn’t see you.
Why worry when you clearly saw me enter the main gate? It’s not like I’d be kidnapped in our own garden. Still, I could understand Lee Kyung-jin’s position.
“Yeah, don’t worry. I’ll probably be moving with my second Hyung, so Mr. Lee, you can go ahead and clock out.”
—Yes. Please don’t forget to contact me if anything happens.
“Mr. Lee, you worry too much. What could possibly happen when I’m with my second Hyung? I won’t be calling, so don’t wait around and go home to get some proper rest.”
—I understand. But just in case you return separately from the second Young Master…
“I told you, that won’t happen. The world won’t collapse even if you fall fast asleep, Mr. Lee. Don’t worry.”
—I don’t have to protect the world, but protecting the Young Master is my job.
What was with that line? It was even funnier because he said it seriously, not as a joke.
“That was actually kind of funny. Anyway, nothing will happen, so go rest. See you tomorrow.”
As I ended the call, the second Hyung beside me clicked his tongue.
“Being so sweet to someone you employ. Just like his father, wagging his tail even to a driver. This is why they say blood doesn’t lie.”
“I’m not wagging my tail; I just told Mr. Lee to go home.”
“Those guys go home on their own when it’s time. People who work for money don’t stay even if you hold onto them, so stop pretending to care. Why? Did you give it to that bastard? Did you let him poke you well?”
“That’s sexual harassment. I’m just showing mutual consideration as one human to another.”
At my words, the second Hyung burst into laughter.
“Human to human? Consideration? What a joke. Those guys do what they’re told because they take the money we give them. They’re like dogs—they drink if told to drink, crawl if told to crawl, and roll over to show their bellies if told to lie down. That’s all they are. You shouldn’t treat a dog like a human. Then they actually start thinking they’re people.”
Wow, it feels like there’s a dog right here in front of me. Maybe it’s because he’s a beast, but he has no self-awareness and thinks everyone around him is a dog like him.
The second Hyung’s personal driver was driving right in front of us; was it really okay to talk like this openly? Did he not feel any embarrassment? I couldn’t understand the inner workings of the second Hyung’s mind.
Whether he noticed my horror or not, he pulled a small, round container from the inside pocket of his suit jacket and opened the lid. He poured a bit of white powder onto the back of his hand.
Why is this guy suddenly taking out throat lozenges?
Before I could even finish that puzzled thought, the second Hyung pressed his nose against the powder on the back of his hand and took a deep breath. The powder was sucked into his nose instantly, leaving faint traces on the back of his hand and around his nostrils.
“Ah…”
Rubbing his nose a few times as if it were itchy, the second Hyung leaned back comfortably with a satisfied expression.
What did I just see? I feel like something monumental just happened before my eyes.
As my mouth hung open, the second Hyung tilted his head and looked at me with raised eyes, asking, “Why?”
“Do you want some too?”
“…No.”
I couldn’t even bring myself to ask what it was. I was sure the answer would be something I shouldn’t hear. I glanced at the driver and then quietly shifted my gaze to look out the window. I felt it would be best in every way to just leave the second Hyung alone.
The car continued to drive down the dark road. The humming of the second Hyung, who was now in a good mood, flowed through the quiet interior. Because he was terribly tone-deaf, my eardrums began to ache.
“Driver, is it a long way?”
“We will arrive in twenty minutes.”
The car had left Seoul and was now entering Gwangju City. Where was he going at this hour? It was a relief that we weren’t leaving Gyeonggi Province, but as the car headed toward the mountains where houses became sparse, my anxiety grew.
“Where are we going?”
Watching the second Hyung’s reaction, I whispered, leaning close to the driver’s headrest.
“There is a small villa. It is a place where the second Young Master occasionally goes to rest.”
A wealthy chaebol son goes to rest at a small villa in Gwangju, not abroad or at some lavish hotel? And suddenly in the middle of the night? It was incomprehensible in many ways.
“Relax. I told you I’m taking you for a good experience. It’ll be better than when you’re messing around with your driver. Prepare yourself so you don’t piss yourself. Want to do a little ‘laundry’ for a warm-up?”
The second Hyung chuckled, holding out the powder container toward me. Politely declining the “lozenges,” I realized that accompanying the second Hyung had been a mistake. To be honest, I hadn’t expected anything good from the moment I came with him.
The car, having turned onto a dark mountain road, rattled and shook before coming to a stop in front of a house with lights leaking out. There were already several cars parked there, suggesting other visitors had arrived.
“Who else is coming? I came without being told, so I think it’s better if I just go back today.”
“So what? I’m the one bringing you; what fucking bastard is going to say something about it? Tell them to fuck off.”
The second Hyung, his mood now peaking, shouted loudly. The car stopped, and the driver opened the door. I felt like I was walking through the gates of hell and didn’t want to get out of the car.
Watching the second Hyung stagger away as he exited first, I whispered in a low voice to his driver.
“I’m sorry about earlier.”
“What are you referring to?”
“What the second Hyung said. He’s just… usually aggressive with his words. He probably didn’t mean it.”
The man, who had remained expressionless like most personal drivers, let the corners of his mouth curl into a faint smile.
“I know the second Young Master well. He probably did mean it, but there is no need for the youngest Young Master to apologize.”
Indeed, anyone who spent just a week with that bastard would know his temper; a man who had been by his side for a long time would understand him better than I ever could. Given the second Hyung’s personality, he probably blurted out everything, regardless of whether it was appropriate or not.
“Please don’t let it get to you.”
No matter how much they were paid, the stress of driving and following him every day, while performing emotional labor, must be immense. Just by being attached to the second Hyung, the man deserved consolation.
“Why aren’t you coming quickly… What, are you wagging your tail to my driver now? Are you some kind of driver killer? Why? Is your hole itching because you want to fuck him? Jae-kyung, do you want to try eating him?”
Ah, this piece of trash.
Hiding my furrowed brow from the unpleasant feeling, I turned around. He could have urged me along with kind words, but he likely lacked that ability. If there were a skill for ruining someone’s mood with bullshit, the younger one was definitely at max level.
“Let’s get going.”
“Yes.”
“Young Master… even if the second Young Master suggests it, please avoid doing it if possible.”
The driver hesitated for a moment and spoke quickly in a hushed whisper. Suggest what? Avoid doing what? Before I could ask, the driver got back into the car and moved to park properly. I had no choice but to avoid the car and walk toward the second Hyung.
Upon entering the villa, I saw people who had arrived earlier lounging on the sofa and drinking. Two men and one woman. I couldn’t tell if they were Alphas, Omegas, or Betas.
“Our doctor, why are you so late?”
“Yeah, fuck. Hurry the hell u— what’s that behind you?”
The people frowned as they spotted the uninvited guest. Their faces were full of displeasure, as if their private party had been interrupted.
“The Omega brat of our house’s male prostitute.”
The younger one replied with a chuckle, draping an arm over my shoulder. I could roughly guess what they had called the Omega father and what they had blabbed when they gathered among themselves. Hiding my hardening expression behind a blank mask, I lowered my gaze.
“Kim Jae-hyuk has been here waiting for a while. He was pissed off as hell.”
“I didn’t even give him the meds because I told him I’d tear him apart when you arrived. Thanks to that, I’ve just been drinking like crazy.”
“Sorry, sorry.”
The younger one pushed me down onto the sofa and took out his phone. After rambling into a call, he turned up the music and started gulping down alcohol.
“He’s more decent than I thought. I heard the male prostitute in your house has a passable face too?”
“Where would a male prostitute’s blood go?”
As I sat quietly on the sofa trying to grasp the situation, a man approached and put his arm around my shoulder, chatting with the younger one. Every word he spoke, claiming it was a joke, grated on my nerves.
“You’re not paying enough attention to other people’s time.”
A man entered through the door, speaking in an irritated voice. The faces of the people lounging on the sofa brightened instantly, making me wonder who this man was to be welcomed so warmly.
“Sorry, sorry. My brother was grating on my nerves on the way out.”
“I carved out time to come here during my busiest hours too.”
The man, scratching his messy, disheveled hair, had a sturdy build and a sharp impression. Just by looking at him, I guessed he was an Alpha.
There were people like that in the back alleys. Alphas, who lacked for nothing in any aspect, also excelled in doing bad things; all the famous figures in the back alleys were Alphas. A foul memory surfaced, and my brow furrowed.
“If this keeps up, the deal won’t go smoothly.”
“…Hey. Just because I’m being indulgent, do you think you’re something? What if it doesn’t go smoothly? What the fuck are you going to do? A bastard who just supplies drugs is acting arrogant.”
The second Hyung frowned and spat out his characteristic harsh words. The man remained silent for a moment, simply staring at the second Hyung, and the atmosphere instantly turned cold.
The man must be some kind of broker. My dangerous intuition was correct, and a bitter taste filled my mouth. Provoking people like that is the worst thing to do.
With a sigh, the man pulled a few small bags from his pocket and tossed them onto the table.
“This one is specially for our lady.”
The man handed over a bag containing pills, unlike the white powder.
“Fucking cheap taste.”
“The junkies can fuck right off.”
I understood neither the identity of the contents in the bags nor the nature of the conversation. As I just stared blankly, the man with his arm around my shoulder chuckled and whispered an explanation.
“That bitch learned how to take kids’ stuff while studying abroad. That stuff is low quality and cheap, but she’s developed a taste for it and hates everything else. What a funny bitch.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
The woman holding the bag of pills glared, grinding her teeth.
“And this is…”
As if his business wasn’t finished, the man trailed off and reached into his coat. When he pulled his hand out, he was holding several thin syringes.
“You said you needed something strong, so I brought a few. I wouldn’t recommend them if possible.”
As soon as the man finished speaking, the second Hyung reached out. The man looked down at him with a smirk.
“Think carefully before you decide. This is different from what you Young Masters usually snort. Once you touch this, it’s hard to stop.”
“It’s already like that. Just give it to me.”
“If you say so.”
The syringes passed from the man’s hand to the second Hyung. I felt like I was witnessing a truly dangerous scene. Regret washed over me for following him.
“Since you’re a doctor, you’ll know how to administer it. Oh, don’t do it now. If you take that, you won’t even have the mind to fuck. Save it for the final feast.”
Having said that, the man took a few steps and opened the front door. A crowd of women and men, who must have been waiting outside, poured in. They were dressed in thin, sheer clothing, seemingly unbothered by the cold.
“I’ll take her and her. I’m going up first.”
The woman who had been sitting stood up, picked two women, and hugged them both.
“Want one?”
The second Hyung asked, holding up one of the syringes he had greedily grasped.
“No thanks. I don’t want to go that far. I feel like enough of a piece of shit already.”
The women went upstairs, and the remaining men picked people like they were shopping, according to their preferences. Some hugged and fondled one person, some sat with one on each side, and some had three, with one kneeling between their thighs. It was a complete circus.
“There’s someone here I haven’t seen before.”
“Don’t mind him. I brought him.”
“The Omega Young Master?”
“Come to think of it, Soo-kyung is the only one without a partner. How about it, Kim Jae-hyuk? Do you want to handle him?”
The second Hyung, sitting with people on both sides and fondling their crotches, asked the man with a chuckle as if it were a joke. The man, who had been looking down at me with a calm gaze, twisted his lips into a smile.
“I’m in charge of sales. Unfortunately, the Young Master isn’t my type.”
Yes, neither are you.
I had been holding my breath, trying not to reveal my presence, but my shoulders hunched up at the man’s remark.
“He might be a bit of a match, though. How about it, Young Master? Shall I handle you?”
“…No. I’m fine.”
The current amount of attention is already more than enough; I don’t know what to do with myself. Please, just pretend you don’t see me and ignore me.
As I shook my head, the man let out a low laugh.
The two men who had been with the second Hyung disappeared—one to the second floor and one to the kitchen—taking the people they had picked. I couldn’t understand why the one who went to the kitchen chose that specific spot, but since I was in a series of incomprehensible situations anyway, I simply gave up on trying to understand.
“I wonder what our Young Master likes.”
The man asked, plopping down next to me.
“What?”
“Something strong?”
“No. I just followed along, so…”
“It’s not scary. It feels good, so why are you so intimidated? Do you like getting injections? Shall we play doctor?”
“…No, I hate getting injections.”
I had seen the ends of drug addicts countless times. They abandoned their children, ignored their duties in life and basic needs, and lived perpetually intoxicated, even forgetting to eat. They took out their security deposits to buy drugs; they bought drugs instead of rice for food. When that wasn’t enough, they eventually sold their bodies and organs. Drugs were something that killed people by draining their very blood.
“Have you ever tried drugs?”
When I nodded, the man smiled, stroking my fluttering hair.
I felt like we were sitting uncomfortably close. I wanted him to move away, but due to an instinctive aversion and a sense of crisis, I couldn’t easily speak.
I felt as if some invisible something emanating from the man’s body, pressed tight against mine, was wrapping around and strangling me.
Because I had spent so much time in the back alleys, the screeching second Hyung was almost cute, but I felt a genuine sense of intimidation from men like this.
“Have you ever smoked?”
I had, but I felt I shouldn’t answer yes. I realized that was the answer the man was waiting for. And I could sufficiently predict that the moment I uttered that answer, the man would do something unpleasant to me.
“You have smoked. …Normally, I shouldn’t give things away for free, but since the Young Master is cute, I’ll give you a service.”
The man pulled a metal case from his pocket, opened it, and held out a single cigarette-like object. I wasn’t even curious about what else might be inside the jacket of this man who kept producing things.
“…What is it?”
“Marijuana. I could not tell you, but you should know exactly what you’re doing. That’s how I think. That way, even if the result is fucked, you can’t blame others. Humans love blaming others, don’t they?”
When someone suggests it this aggressively, it feels like they deserve to be reprimanded.
“I’m really fine. I’m not in good health, and I had an accident recently, so I’m still recovering…”
“You see, whenever there are people I’m meeting for the first time at a deal, I always offer. I only feel at ease once I see them get wasted right in front of me. It’d be troublesome if those bastards snitched for no reason. If we do bad things together and develop a sense of camaraderie, those unpleasant incidents don’t happen.”
Hoping someone would stop him—or rather, hoping that even if they didn’t stop him, they would just ignore him and kick him out as usual—I looked at my younger brother. He was leaning back leisurely on the sofa, receiving oral sex.
I stared blankly at the back of the head moving up and down, pressed tightly against my brother’s groin. A messy trail of white powder remained on the table.
Right, I shouldn’t have expected anything. Fucking bastard.
