five

“Welcome, Darling!”

Grayson, who had been preparing and waiting, opened the front door himself and embraced Dane with open arms. Pretending to say the cat’s name but calling Dane “Darling” was such an obvious tactic. Dane wanted to push him away, but he had the Pet carrier with Darling in one hand and a bag full of Darling’s belongings in the other, so there was no way. Instead, he growled in a threatening voice.

“Let go, I’m telling you nicely.”

Knowing full well what he meant, Grayson rubbed his face all over Dane’s shoulder before finally letting go. He raised his head and took a step back, his cheeks flushed red.

“I’ve been waiting, for a very long time.”

“Long?”

What was he talking about now? Dane frowned and inadvertently asked back, and Grayson smiled brightly and nodded.

“My whole life.”

“Not that again.”

Dane shook his head as if he was fed up. Grayson had been talking about fate and other nonsense since he first appeared, so he was used to it now. Whether Dane agreed was another matter.

Well, it’s good to have a dream.

Dane thought listlessly and looked around.

“Which way is the room?”

As soon as the question was asked, Grayson turned and said,

“Come this way, I’ve prepared the room with the best view.”

As he climbed the stairs, Grayson hummed. Seeing him expressing how good he felt with his whole body, Dane felt strange instead.

After climbing the stairs with five landings, the lower floor seemed incredibly far away. Dane glanced over the railing at the enormous height and then followed Grayson again. If Darling had been younger when he came here, he would have had a much more enjoyable day, he suddenly thought, but then shook his head. It’s not my house anyway, so what’s the point?

Only the sound of their footsteps echoed silently in the wide, long hallway. It was so quiet that it seemed like there were only two people in this big house, but there must be a caretaker. The sculptures, placed at regular intervals, were immaculately clean, and the long carpet was sparkling.

“This is the room.”

Grayson, who had passed several doors, finally stopped in front of a room and turned to look at Dane. It was perfect timing, as he was getting tired and was about to ask for any room.

Grayson opened the door and stepped back, and Dane passed him and went inside first. And he stopped in his tracks at the first sight he saw.

Beyond the wide-open front window, a dazzling night view stretched endlessly. The brilliant lights of the distant city dyed the black night entirely in indigo, making the falling darkness shine like stars. It was the first time Dane had seen such a spectacle, and he stood there blankly, mesmerized for a moment. Had there ever been such a beautiful night?

Dane’s house was on a small hill, but there was a low mountain behind it, so it was impossible to see the night view. He had occasionally seen the night view passing by the road when he returned late at night, but to admire the night scenery through the front window from his room like this. During the day, he would surely see lush greenery under the endless blue sky.

Could there be a more extravagant consumption than this? Dane thought in a daze. The biggest privilege of the rich is to buy scenery.

“How is it, Dane? Do you like it?”

Grayson, who had been standing quietly behind him until then, approached and asked. If you didn’t like this room, you would be a terribly bad-tempered person, or someone who didn’t know what shame was, or an emperor of some country. Of course, Dane wasn’t that bad-tempered, he knew what shame was, and he was a penniless man who had lost his house, let alone an emperor.

“There are other rooms too. You can look around and decide. Would you like to do that?”

Grayson suggested without waiting for an answer. Dane tried to speak, but a strange metallic sound came out, so he quickly cleared his throat.

“No, it’s okay. I like it. I’ll take this room.”

“Really? That’s a relief.”

Grayson smiled as if he was genuinely relieved. On the other hand, it was a confusing situation for Dane. The room, which was much larger than all three of Dane’s living rooms combined, had a folding door that divided the space, with a bedroom on one side and a living room-like space on the other. In addition, there was a sofa, a TV, and even a tea table. If Dane wanted to, he could live a basic life without even taking a step out of this room.

And what about the bedroom on this side? It was the first time Dane had seen such a large bed that even a tall man like Dane could stretch out his arms and legs and still have room to spare. Of course, the owner of the house was taller than Dane, so it was made to fit him, but Dane, who had always thought the bed was too short when buying off-the-shelf mattresses, felt like he wanted to lie down right away when he saw such a width that seemed to fit his body.

But what attracted Dane more than the paintings on the wall, the decorations, and the expensive-looking pottery was the cat tower installed by the window.

The very cat tower that Dane had been planning to buy for months, that he had accidentally received as a gift from Grayson, but that had burned down before he could even assemble it properly, and that he couldn’t afford to buy a new one because of the many expenses he would have to pay in the future.

“Oh my god……”

Dane muttered to himself without realizing it. The giant cat tower was fully assembled with both wings. Darling would be satisfied with this. He wanted to put Darling on the cat tower right now and take a picture of it, but he had to be patient. Darling must have been very stressed by the continuous moves. It would take time for him to come out of the Pet carrier, so he had to be patient and wait for him to adjust to the unfamiliar environment.

Still, feeling regretful, he stroked the cat tower, and Grayson, who was once again clinging to his back, asked,

“Darling will like this, right?”

“Well……”

Dane couldn’t deny it and trailed off. He didn’t expect him to be so considerate. Grayson, who was standing there blankly with a complicated heart, said again.

“It’s a gift. You can take it with you when you leave.”

“What?”

Dane turned his head at the unexpected words, and Grayson smiled readily.

“It’s a reward for you coming here.”

Dane stared at his face without saying anything. What is this guy saying……

Such a gift would be nothing to Grayson Miller. He could easily spend thousands of dollars. But it wasn’t the same for the person receiving it. Above all, wasn’t this a relationship with a set period that he had no choice but to accept?

“……Miller.”

Dane opened his mouth with a blank face.

“I don’t like giving and receiving excessive gifts like this. I appreciate the thought, but I’ll decline.”

“It’s not an excessive gift.”

“It might not be for you, but it is for me.”

Dane refused coldly.

“If you don’t keep a reasonable distance, I’ll leave here whether you stalk me or whatever.”

He was serious. Of course, Grayson noticed.

“Okay. ……But please accept this, I won’t buy you anything else in the future.”

There was a bitter tone in Grayson’s voice. Dane paused and then nodded. This guy doesn’t have a cat, and it would be a waste to throw things away.

Soon, Grayson raised the corners of his mouth and smiled. Dane felt awkward at his reaction, but didn’t bother to point it out. Instead, he pointed to one of the doors and asked.

“Is that the bathroom door?”

“Huh? No. The bathroom is that way.”

Grayson said, his cheeks slightly flushed.

“That door connects to my room.”

Dane looked at Grayson without saying anything.

“……What?”

It was after a few seconds of silence that he frowned and spat out a word.

100 – 100

Grayson looked down at Dane and added as if it were obvious, “You might need me in the middle of the night. If you do, you have to call me right away.”

Dane was so dumbfounded that his jaw dropped. Before he could even process it, Grayson added, “Or maybe you’ll want to come into my room.”

The sight of him blushing and smiling shyly was quite a spectacle. Dane just gaped at him. He had been dumbfounded by Grayson countless times, but each time he did something even more absurd than before. This time, Dane felt a momentary dizziness, and he pressed his forehead, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. Getting angry and swearing wouldn’t work at all. Having learned some tricks, he held out a hand as if to restrain a dog and opened his mouth.

“Darling, I think we need to keep some distance.”

“We don’t need distance, we’re lovers.”

“No, we need it even more because we’re lovers.”

Dane immediately denied his immediate rejection. He ignored the rejection that made him feel like he was breaking out in hives as soon as he uttered the word ‘lovers’ and continued, “If you keep crossing the line like this, I’ll get tired of it quickly. I’m already pushing my limits enough. Don’t invade my space without permission anymore, understand?”

Dane glared at Grayson intensely. His attitude made it clear that he wouldn’t stand for it if he came any closer. Grayson silently looked down at his face.

After a few seconds of silence, Grayson sighed softly and said, “Okay.” Seeing his dejected appearance, Dane’s heart softened, but he quickly regained his senses. Even if it was the price for saving Darling’s life, there was a limit. He had already accepted enough. He had to be clear about where to back down and where not to.

“Give me the key.”

“Key?”

Grayson tilted his head as Dane held out his hand. Dane added coldly, “The key to that door, you must have it.”

“I don’t.”

“I’ve told you not to lie so many times.”

Dane threatened, and Grayson pouted, turned around, and headed for the dresser. He threw the key he took out of a small drawer, and Dane caught it with one hand. Grayson said, “The key can lock from both sides. Of course, I won’t lock it.”

The last words sounded meaningful. In short, he was welcome anytime. Of course, from Dane’s point of view, that was absurd. And he immediately showed it with his actions.

Dane brushed past Grayson and confidently walked to the connecting room, locking the door with the key. After pulling on the doorknob to make sure it was locked, he grabbed Grayson’s hand and placed the key on his palm with a thud, as if telling him to take it away.

“Anything else to say?”

“It’s our first night, so you might be scared, so I’ll stay with you…”

“Good night.”

Dane didn’t listen to his nonsense to the end and pushed Grayson out. Only after he was finally alone could he let out a tired breath.

That guy really drives me crazy.

Shaking his head, Dane belatedly discovered the Pet carrier he had placed on the bed. Oh no, he had forgotten about Darling. Flustered, he hurriedly moved to open the door of the Pet carrier. As he released Pheromone to Darling, who was huddled up, the cat sniffed and meowed softly.

“I’m sorry, Darling. Were you anxious?”

Dane apologized to the cat in a gentle voice, gently stroking its head with his finger. The cat tried to rub its head against Dane’s hand but didn’t try to come out of the Pet carrier.

Seeing that the pad he had laid out in advance was wet, Dane unpacked his luggage. He carefully took Darling out and held him, changed the pad, and put him back in. Darling went deep into the Pet carrier as if he had been waiting.

Even after confirming that the cat was settling down, Dane had a lot to do. He put Darling’s favorite items in a suitable place, took out the food, poured it into a bowl, filled the litter box in the bathroom, and only then was it his turn to do his own work. He placed the bowl of food right in front of the Pet carrier so that Darling could eat whenever he wanted, and then he headed to the bathroom.

“Hoo…”

He filled the bathtub with hot water and soaked his body in it, and only then did he feel like he was coming to his senses.

Dane leaned his head against the edge of the tub and looked up at the ceiling. Like the rest of the house, the bathroom also had a high ceiling, half of which was covered with glass, so he could see the night sky clearly. During the day, the sun would pour in through that window. Turning his eyes to the wall, he saw a large glass door, just like in the room, so if he wanted, he could open the window wide and take a bath with the fantastic night view and the fresh night air. He thought that Grayson was right to boast that it was the best room in his house. And he also had to admit that he didn’t dislike this room very much, or rather, he was quite satisfied with it.

“Hoo.”

He sighed complicatedly and fell into thought again. When he thought about it, this situation was what Dane had been dreaming of. A life of lazing around at home every day, enjoying himself without worrying about money. At least on the surface, it was perfect…

The problem was that Grayson Miller was unemployed.

What he wanted was for his partner to go to work and often go on business trips, so that most of his work would be free and lazy. He certainly didn’t want a partner who would stick to him like glue all day long.

In fact, Dane’s position was just right as the 35896425th lover of a wealthy woman. He could laze around, taking money little by little without making his presence too obvious. He didn’t need that much money either. Just enough pocket money to buy Darling what he needed and to treat himself occasionally, and enough to live a comfortable life without worrying. For the rest of his life.

But for Grayson Miller, Dane’s presence was too great. It would be okay if it was just a relationship where he could pass by unnoticed and provide service once or twice a year, but Grayson would never leave Dane like that. If he were to accept him, he shuddered at the thought of what would happen afterward.

Maybe he’ll stick to my back and live there.

The image of Grayson sticking to his back like a turtle shell and fondling his chest came to mind so easily that Dane shook his head violently. Haa, haa. He quickly became breathless and muttered with a pale face.

“I can’t be with that guy.”

Dane was ready to leave whenever he got tired of this place. Just like he had lived so far. No one can change his life. Never.

Dane vowed and began to scrub his body with a sponge and body wash, as if whipping his fading judgment.

Desire Me if you can

“Meow,” a small sound awakened one side of Dane’s consciousness. It sounded like Darling was calling him. “Umm,” he groaned and opened his eyes. Darling was next to him. Dane hugged the cat, who was rubbing his head against his cheek as if he had been waiting, with pleasure.

“Did you sleep well, Darling?”

He kissed his face and closed his eyes again. He felt particularly good today. Had the motel bed been this soft? The feeling of the soft mattress and sheets that seemed to envelop his whole body made the corners of his mouth turn up involuntarily.

“Hmm,” Dane made a pleasant sound and then opened his eyes wide. He rolled his eyes around while lying down, then slowly raised his body to look around so as not to startle Darling.

The harsh sunlight pouring in through the front window was brightly illuminating the scenery of the unfamiliar, luxurious room. Only then did Dane realize where he had fallen asleep the day before.

“Haaa.”

An exclamation came out involuntarily. It was a room that he couldn’t get used to no matter how many times he looked at it. It would be like this until the day he left this room.

Dane thought so and slowly tried to get out of the large bed. He turned his head without thinking and stopped, frozen.

No way, I must have seen it wrong.

Half in doubt, Dane slowly turned his head. And the moment he saw what he had seen with his own eyes, he froze.

It was because Grayson, who was looking at Dane from beyond the closed window, was smiling brightly and waving one hand. Absurdly, when their eyes met, he said with a delighted expression, “Good morning, honey.”

“Aaaaaah!”

Dane opened his mouth wide and let out a silent scream.

101 – 101

Grayson sat across the table with a face full of discontent. A red handprint still marked one of his cheeks. He rubbed his cheek and grumbled.

“Your hand is too spicy.”

“I told you to stop…….”

Dane clenched his fists on the table, his body trembling as he gritted his teeth. He hadn’t gone out to the balcony the day before, so he didn’t know. That the space was connected to the next room.

What was the point of locking the room when the balcony was wide open?

The thought of that bastard shamelessly pretending not to know and moaning about locking the door yesterday, even though he must have known the truth, made Dane’s anger surge.

Grayson, who had been about to say something, shut his mouth at Dane’s fierce glare, but his dissatisfied expression didn’t change. Where did this bastard learn to be so brazen? Dane was dumbfounded but soon calmed himself. That was just a reaction he was creating. There was no need to respond to it. Above all…

If he reacted to everything, he wouldn’t die of old age.

But even as he thought that, the words came out involuntarily.

“What’s with that balcony?”

Grayson immediately replied to the grumbling question.

“Romeo and Juliet…….”

“Shut up.”

Grayson clamped his mouth shut at Dane’s fierce gaze. He still looked dissatisfied, but Dane ignored him and looked down at the table, his face turning pale.

Even if he were invited to a dinner banquet, there wouldn’t be this much food. There were five kinds of fruit juice: tomato, lemon, kiwi, orange, and blueberry, even kale, and yogurt and milk were standard, and there were ten kinds of bread, from pastries to sliced bread. The jams for the pancakes were in various colors, and Dane couldn’t even bring himself to count how many syrups were placed with them.

The bacon was cooked in various ways: lightly cooked, blanched, and crispy, and the same went for the eggs. And how many kinds of omelets were there? Seeing several steaks lined up according to how they were cooked made him sick of it before he even ate.

Grayson smiled brightly at Dane, who was just staring at the enormous amount of food filling the table with a pale face.

“It’s your first morning after coming to our house, so I prepared something special.”

“Hey…….”

Dane felt dizzy from the headache. Who eats this much food in the morning? So far, he had only eaten a piece of toast and coffee at most, and sometimes he skipped that too.

Dane couldn’t help but sigh repeatedly. He didn’t know where to start. It hadn’t even been an hour since he woke up, but he already felt like he had run through five fire scenes. He opened his mouth in a tired voice.

“Coffee is enough.”

“Espresso? Decaf? Americano? Which beans do you like? Brazil, Kenya…….”

“Coffee.”

Dane gritted his teeth and replied. The only advantage of Grayson that Dane liked was that he was quick-witted. This time, he didn’t waste any time and quickly got up and brought back a strong cup of coffee. Dane inwardly admired the fragrant aroma he had never smelled before and brought the cup to his lips.

Haaa.

He felt the tension in his body melt away and his nerves relax. He couldn’t help but think that this was what good coffee was like. Until now, he had been too lazy to use a coffee machine and drank instant coffee, or at most used a drive-thru cafe on his way to work. He thought that coffee was just for waking up, and that enjoying the aroma and taste was just bullshit.

“What is this coffee?”

Grayson replied happily when Dane asked in wonder.

“Cat poop…….”

“Stop.”

Grayson’s face quickly filled with discontent when he was forbidden to speak again, just when he was finally able to talk. Dane looked down at the coffee he had just enjoyed with a distorted face, but soon gave up and drank the coffee again. He hesitated for a moment before putting the cup to his lips.

He always slept in old cotton pants or training pants, and this time he was shirtless as usual. Dane, who was sitting at the table with only his lower body clothed, drinking coffee and waking up his brain, suddenly frowned when he realized that Grayson was staring at him.

“What? Why aren’t you eating and just looking at me? No, never mind.”

Dane immediately regretted speaking. Seeing Grayson’s reaction, his eyes flashing for a moment before fading, he was convinced that his thoughts were correct.

That bastard, what was he trying to eat?

Even as he thought that, Dane subtly sat sideways and covered his chest with his arms as much as possible as he drank his coffee. It was so hot it felt like his mouth would burn, but he didn’t care and poured the rest of the drink in at once before jumping up. He was about to turn around and head to his room when Grayson suddenly spoke.

“Ah, there’s something I didn’t tell you yesterday.”

Dane turned his reluctant gaze to him as if to say, ‘What is it now?’ Grayson added in a light tone.

“There’s a dog in the garden.”

“A dog?”

“Yeah.”

Grayson nodded and continued.

“Alex is getting old now, so he’s not as fast as he used to be. He looks scary, but he’s gentle, so you don’t have to worry. Darling will be inside anyway, and Alex will be outside.”

Dane stood there for a moment. Grayson waited, wondering at his attitude, as if he had something to say but was hesitating whether to say it or not.

Looking at Grayson, Dane was inwardly conflicted. He thought that if he was old, he would need a lot of care, so it wouldn’t be good to keep him in the garden, but he wasn’t sure if it was okay to say that. If it were someone else’s business, he would have ignored it, but since it was an animal, he couldn’t help but feel concerned.

He has a lot of money, so he must be taking good care of him, so why should I……

He won’t be staying long anyway, so it’s not good to get involved. Thinking that far, he made up his mind and nodded.

“Okay. Is there anything else you forgot?”

“Um, not now.”

Dane turned his gaze again. As if to say, ‘What does that mean?’ Grayson smiled nonchalantly and replied.

“I mean, there’s nothing I can think of right now. I’ll tell you if there’s anything else.”

“……Okay.”

Dane stopped there and retreated for now. It was already approaching his work time. He didn’t have time to linger, so he immediately returned to his room and started getting ready. It seemed that Darling had taken care of his business and eaten his food during the night while Dane was asleep. After stroking the cat, who was curled up in the pet carrier again, he filled it with food and water and left the room. Before leaving, he made sure to close all the windows and doors, including the room.

After checking the closed doors several times, he turned around and immediately met Grayson’s eyes. Dane felt himself automatically stepping back and opened his mouth.

“Don’t tell me you were waiting for me?”

“Why not? We’re lovers, so of course we should go to work together.”

Seeing Grayson respond as if he had been waiting for it, Dane felt his vision darken. This wouldn’t do. He had to come up with a plan.

Right now.

“Wait a minute, I need to set some conditions for staying in this house.”

Grayson, who had been about to approach excitedly, stopped when Dane held out one hand and spoke. Dane declared to him in a stern tone.

“Separate commutes, and don’t follow me around for more than 3 hours a day. That’s my condition.”

Grayson looked down at him with a blank face. Silence flowed between them.

“Are you kidding?”

Grayson was the one who broke the silence first. With a smiling face as usual, but with the very expression that Dane always found awkward. Of course, Dane’s answer was firm.

“Of course I’m serious, you idiot. Have I ever joked with you?”

Immediately after spitting out the words irritably, he paused. It was because Grayson had a devastated expression as if the world had collapsed.

102 – 102

“No, I mean. Like, well.”

Dane, who had spoken without thinking, suddenly wondered. Wait, why am I going this far? It’s true that this guy is sticking to me like glue.

He was the type who wouldn’t understand unless you spoke harshly. Plus, he needed to realize there was no hope during these three months so he would let go easily. If I’m wishy-washy, worse things could happen later…

The conflict started again, but the answer was already clear. Dane was already aware that his heart was weakening. No choice. He let out a short breath and opened his mouth.

“Pretty boy, even the prettiest face gets tiring if you look at it all day. And I’m not used to spending this much time with someone. It doesn’t suit my personality. It’s annoying.”

He pointed out the root of the problem honestly and as easy to understand as possible.

“Even lovers have different forms, depending on the person. You like to cling, but I hate it. Shouldn’t we adjust to each other, pretty boy? Forcing something that only one person likes isn’t a healthy relationship.”

He should understand this much.

Thinking he had given a cold, realistic assessment, Dane waited for Grayson’s reaction. But for some reason, he was just tilting his head and making an incomprehensible expression.

“Did you understand what I said?”

Dane, unable to wait any longer, pressed him, and Grayson suddenly smiled brightly. That face again… As Dane frowned, Grayson replied.

“Not at all.”

“Haaa.”

Of course. Dane covered his face with one hand and sighed deeply before suddenly remembering something.

“Have you ever dated anyone before? What were they like? Did they like it when you chased them around like this?”

No matter how much they were lovers, no one would like being clung to this much. Confident, he asked, and Grayson scratched the back of his head before laughing insincerely again.

“I didn’t chase them around like this back then.”

This bastard! Dane was furious, and a vein popped out on his temple.

“Then why are you doing this to me? Why are you clinging to me so annoyingly!”

“Because you’re my true love.”

At the brazen answer, Dane couldn’t even shout and just raised his clenched fists, trembling slightly. He had too much to say to even speak. After all sorts of curses passed through his mind, he sighed in exhaustion and slumped his shoulders.

“You’re too controlling.”

Dane continued in a tired voice.

“I hate being obsessed over and clung to. That’s why I didn’t want to date anyone. If you were moderate, I’d be willing to put up with you to some extent.”

Offering another compromise, Grayson stroked his chin thoughtfully.

“How much is moderate?”

At the dubious question, Dane readily replied.

“Don’t contact me until I contact you, and don’t show up in front of me without permission.”

Grayson still didn’t let go of his suspicion and asked.

“Then when will you contact me and show up?”

Dane answered whatever came to mind.

“Whenever I feel like it.”

He wondered if that would be enough, but Grayson didn’t give in easily.

“I think about you all day long, but what about you?”

At the sudden question, Dane paused, and Grayson lowered his eyes and looked down at Dane as if he expected it.

“If you’re the same, I can endure it.”

Dane stared at him without a word before rubbing his face roughly with one hand. And he mumbled, covering his face with his palm.

“…I’ll try.”

“Good.”

Thinking it was finally over, he lowered his hand and saw Grayson standing with one hand outstretched towards him.

“…What?”

“Cell phone.”

Grayson, urging him with another wave of his hand, said.

“You don’t know my phone number, so give me your cell phone.”

Dane, not taking his eyes off Grayson, took out his cell phone from his back pocket and placed it on his palm with a thud. Grayson opened his cell phone and frowned.

“What, there’s no lock setting?”

The answer was predetermined.

“Annoying.”

Grayson shrugged and skillfully pressed the buttons to save his cell phone number. Dane waited, thinking it would be over soon. But unexpectedly, it took him quite a while before he finally returned the cell phone.

“What took you so long…”

Dane, who had checked the phone, paused. ‘Love, Grayson’ was at the top of the address book. Dane silently stared at it before deleting ‘Love’. Grayson made a dissatisfied expression, but he ignored it, of course.

“Do I have to tell you my number too?”

Dane asked, putting his cell phone back in his back pocket. He thought he was going to call himself when he took the cell phone, but it turned out he was just saving the number, which was unexpected. At Dane’s curiosity, Grayson replied nonchalantly.

“It’s okay, I know it.”

“Huh…”

Dane only let out a tired sigh. Of course, Dane had never directly taught him, but he didn’t bother to argue. He already knew it was a waste of time from experience. Grayson then demanded of Dane.

“Now that you know my number, send me a message whenever you think of me. Even just a dot is fine. It’d be even better if you called. Then I’ll accept your way too.”

“What…”

He was about to say it was nonsense, but Grayson asked suspiciously before that.

“You told me not to lie to you, so you’re not going to lie like that, are you?”

Dane was momentarily flustered, but there was no room to refute. Because of that, he paused for a moment before replying nonchalantly.

“Of course not. Then is the conversation over now? I’m leaving first.”

Dane didn’t waste any more time, turned around, and strode away. He could feel Grayson following behind him, but there was nothing he could do. They worked at the same company.

It’s lucky enough that we’re not riding in the same car.

He thought, getting into his old car and starting the engine. If he kept listening to that damn ‘boobs boobs’ even during his commute, he might strangle Grayson someday.

But Dane himself knew very well that he had only postponed the moment of crisis and that nothing had actually been resolved.

Desire Me if you can

“What are you doing, Dane? Since a while ago.”

DeAndre asked, seeing Dane sitting on a makeshift chair, shaking one leg, and sending cell phone messages. As the end of work got closer, he became more anxious. He had never thought about one person so intently in his life. If this was Grayson Miller’s scheme, it had worked well enough. From the time lunch was over and it became afternoon, he had gradually started to feel impatient and repeatedly took out and put away his cell phone. All to send a text to Grayson right away.

DeAndre, who had been wondering, glanced at Dane’s cell phone and was startled.

“What, why are there so many dots?”

He looked back and forth between Dane’s face and cell phone and asked, but Dane had no intention of answering. Eventually, DeAndre left, curious. Dane didn’t care about him and only stared at the cell phone screen. As DeAndre said, only a row of dots that Dane had sent were floating in a line in the message window.

Conversely, the messages sent from the other side were endlessly long.

Grayson

My beloved Dane. Did you see the cloud that just passed by? It looked exactly like a hot dog! Isn’t it amazing that a hot dog is floating in such a blue sky? That guy was as majestic as my Virginia. Haha!

.

My beloved Dane, I think inspecting a chainsaw is a life-threatening job. Shouldn’t we receive additional life insurance every time we inspect a chainsaw? What do you think? Shall we file a lawsuit together? If we hire Miller’s law firm, we could get $1 million. I’d like us two to file the lawsuit alone. Then we can each get $500,000. Of course, I can give my share to your two lovely Venus. Instead, you have to let me bury my face in them and kiss them to my heart’s content!

.

My beloved Dane, did you know that there are working ants and playing ants? Is the ant passing under my feet right now a working ant or a playing ant? Seeing them going together, maybe they’re going to play together. Shall we go play like those ants this weekend?

.

My beloved Dane.

.

My beloved Dane.

.

My beloved Dane.

.

…….

.

At the endless messages, Dane’s complexion turned pale.
