That wasn’t wrong. But questions still remained.
“Then why did you bother pretending to be a Beta until now?”
Again, Dane answered without hesitation.
“I just didn’t want the hassle of being an Omega. There’s no other reason.”
It was clear that he wasn’t lying. He had always said, ‘I hate troublesome things,’ until it wore out his lips.
“If I hadn’t known your Trait, would you still have said that?”
Dane chuckled.
“No, I would have sent you back first.”
Grayson wanted to ask why he didn’t want to reveal it to him, but he didn’t. He already knew the answer.
Because I’m the most troublesome to him…
The thought that popped into his head made him feel even worse.
Meanwhile, Dane had been feeling unwell since she left. To be precise, it was after he released his Pheromones to her. He hadn’t realized it because he had never used his rear before, but after the Bloom, he felt uncomfortable every time he used his Pheromones.
Bloom.
Omegas cannot smell their own Pheromone scent until they have a relationship. They realize it after using their rear for the first time. Their Pheromones that seduce Alphas.
He never thought it would be so embarrassing and uncomfortable. The fact that he had never paid attention to, thinking he would never use his rear in his life, was now suddenly a reality.
Those Dominant Alpha bastards go around spreading Pheromones all the time and still manage to walk around just fine…
Dane clicked his tongue inwardly. They were shameless bastards after all.
“Hey.”
Dane called Grayson again. When he reluctantly turned his gaze, he pointed his thumb towards Darling and said.
“Go now. I should start preparing dinner soon.”
He was telling him to take pictures and get lost. Of course, Grayson understood the meaning, but he had no intention of backing down easily.
“I still have questions.”
“Make it quick.”
Dane accepted his words even though he was annoyed. It might be the last chance. Grayson had a vague feeling that this was the only chance to have this kind of conversation.
“What would have happened if you were a Beta, in this situation?”
Dane answered nonchalantly to the meaningless hypothetical.
“Nothing much would have changed. If it was useful, I would have had it surgically removed a long time ago.”
“What?”
Dane looked at the momentarily flustered Grayson with an indifferent expression.
“I’m not going to have children anyway, so what’s the point of having it? It’s much easier to have it surgically removed, and this kind of awkward situation wouldn’t happen.”
“…Really, like that?”
Grayson muttered in bewilderment. But Dane retorted as if it were obvious.
“Miller, I still use condoms now. Even though it’s useless sperm, I do that troublesome thing, so how can I just play around trusting only condoms in a situation where a child might be conceived?”
Dane sneered, pushing Grayson away by pressing his second finger against his chest.
“You Dominant Alpha bastards can control Conception, so you probably haven’t even thought about that.”
His face was full of annoyance as he chuckled. He had to stop talking about this now. Grayson could clearly read Dane’s thoughts. Now he had to leave this place. Without any more questions, after pretending to take a few pictures of Darling, he would say a simple goodbye and leave this house.
The series of actions was already decided. All he had to do was move his body accordingly…
Grayson couldn’t do that.
“What would you do if you had a child?”
“What?”
Dane asked back at the sudden question. There was still a chance. He could just turn around and leave, saying it was nothing.
But he wanted to know. Why was this man so disgusted by the idea of having his child, expressing such intense hatred?
“What would you do if a child was born between you and me?”
“That won’t happen. Why are you even making that assumption? You saw me taking the medicine, didn’t you?”
Dane’s attitude was extremely firm. He was showing with his whole body that he was very uncomfortable with this conversation, but Grayson stubbornly continued the conversation.
“There’s no guarantee that the medicine is effective.”
“What?”
“It’s not even a formally approved drug, right? Then we’ll have to wait and see if it’s really effective.”
Dane’s eyebrows furrowed even more. He opened his mouth as if to say something, then closed his eyes and tilted his head back.
“Haa.”
Dane, who had let out a deep sigh, opened his mouth in a softened tone as if he was tired.
“Okay, I’ll go to the hospital and check. I just need to confirm to you that there’s no child, right?”
He must be doing this because he’s worried about troublesome things happening. Dane thought. He couldn’t think of any other reason why Grayson was being so persistent. This man, who talks about fate, has lived as promiscuously as Dane, so he probably doesn’t want to be responsible for anything.
“If you were pregnant, I would have rights too.”
Dane’s thoughts were cut off by the sudden words. Dane lowered his gaze from the ceiling and looked at Grayson. A cold anger seeped into Dane’s eyes.
“What rights?”
Dane asked back, narrowing his eyes. His voice gradually became rough.
“Rights? What rights do you have! This is my body, what nonsense are you spouting? Do you think you’re something just because you slept with me once? Don’t be ridiculous!”
Grayson tried to say more, but Dane was faster. He grabbed Grayson by the collar without hesitation and spat out roughly.
“How many times do I have to say it for you to understand? I’m not pregnant. Even if I was, I wouldn’t be, understand? Damn it, get out of here and stop bothering me!”
“Just because you yell at me and get angry doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, we.”
“We what? Slept together? So what?”
Dane shouted as if he was about to hit him at any moment. Grayson wanted to tell him to calm down, but he knew very well that those words would only add fuel to the fire. So instead, he tried to persuade him as calmly as possible.
“It was your first time, so.”
It wasn’t a good method, though.
“So? Are you going to take responsibility or something?”
Dane let out a hollow laugh as if he was dumbfounded. This crazy bastard, he muttered in his mouth, gritting his teeth.
“Grayson Miller.”
He called his name as if spitting it out.
“Do you know why I haven’t used my rear until now?”
When Grayson paused at the sudden question, Dane glared at him with a frightening gaze and told him the answer.
“In case I accidentally have a child.”
He quickly poured out words to the surprised Grayson.
“I have no intention of having children. Never, ever will I have my child from anyone. But what? Rights? What rights to a child that doesn’t even exist?”
“Dane.”
“Shut up!”
Grayson tried to say something more, but Dane stopped him by shouting.
“Why are you being so clingy like a country bumpkin? You said you never sleep with someone you’ve slept with once, right?”
At those words, Grayson turned pale as if he had been shocked. Dane was even more disgusted by the sight of him reacting like a normal person. He must be imitating this too.
“Get out, now. Get out of my house!”
“Just a moment.”
Grayson tried to say something more, but Dane didn’t listen. He grabbed him by the collar and dragged him to the front door, and as soon as he opened the door, he pushed Grayson out as if throwing him away. In front of Grayson, who almost fell over while staggering, he immediately slammed the door shut with a bang. Soon after, the sound of the lock being locked was heard.
“…Ha.”
Grayson swept back his hair and let out a hollow sigh. Looking at his own state, he was pathetic beyond compare. To be standing blankly in front of the front door after being kicked out by the homeowner.
He was wearing a slipper on one foot, but the other foot didn’t even have that. After confirming with his eyes that his foot wearing a black sock was touching the ground, Grayson let out another annoyed sigh, then took off the remaining slipper, neatly gathered his shoes on one side, and put them on.
“Damn it.”
Soon after, he swore and kicked Dane’s front door hard with a bang.
And a few minutes later, Dane could see Grayson’s car leaving through the living room window.
