A thick scent of roses wafted through the air. A fragrance so potent it felt as if several bottles of perfume had been poured out permeated every corner of the room.
The elegant and calm dark gray walls were now covered in a dazzling shade of pink. The old antique bed frame had been replaced by a childish pink iron frame carved with angels, and the sheets covering the mattress were an equally vivid pink. Cassian was left speechless when he saw the towels shaped like two swans with their heads touching to form a heart on the bed. The curtains were pink, the sofa was pink, and even the bed bench was pink.
Faced with this dizzying feast of pink, Cassian felt as if he were about to faint. Unable to endure it any longer, he let out a low groan and covered his forehead with one hand, but whether his eyes were open or closed, the reality did not change.
And the worst decoration of all was that brat.
With a heavily distorted expression, Cassian stared at Bliss, who was standing in the middle of the room looking at him. Why on earth was he the only one wearing blue pajamas? In a room occupied by pink, his sky-blue pajamas stood out exceptionally. Of course, considering the hearts drawn on the pajamas were pink, it wasn’t that different after all…
“Welcome, Count.”
Right, that little peanut.
Seeing Bliss acting all modest and greeting him now only made Cassian more appalled. But that wasn’t the end of it.
“Would you like a shower first, or some wine? Or perhaps…”
Bliss swayed gracefully toward the bed, then glanced back and asked.
“Straight to sleep?”
For a moment, a chill ran down Cassian’s spine. Why was he looking at him with such a greasy expression? He couldn’t fathom the boy’s intentions. He had simply said he would stay for one more night, but for some reason, it felt as if he had crossed a bridge of no return.
It must be a misunderstanding. It has to be.
Cassian chose to flee to the bathroom without a word. Along with the self-loathing thought of whether he had always been such a coward, he let out a deep sigh, took a breath that was practically a deep inhalation, and looked up. In the next moment, he realized why that little peanut was wearing blue pajamas.
On the long counter of the vanity, there lay a pair of pink pajamas of the same design, only in a different size.
Hehe, hehehehe.
Bliss smirked as he tidied up the bed. Penelope was right. Look at him hiding in the bathroom out of embarrassment; that guy is completely head over heels for me.
“Hehehe, hehehe.”
Giggles kept leaking out. All that was left was for the guy to honestly admit it. When would it be? When would that day come?
I hope it comes soooon.
Bliss lay down on the bed with a beaming smile. Now, all he had to do was wait for Cassian. While lying down, he looked toward the bathroom. For some reason, he couldn’t hear the sound of water. What was he doing?
Just then, a sound like a thunderclap erupted from beyond the bathroom door.
“God damn it, fuck! This XXX XX XXX…”
Hieek!
Bliss hurriedly covered his ears with both hands. That jerk is using those bad words again. At first, it was just baffling, but not anymore. Because now, Bliss knew why Cassian had cursed so much back then.
He was trying to deny that he fell for me at first sight, right?
It’s the same this time. He’s probably acting like that because he’s suppressing his feelings for me. Tsk tsk, it would be so much easier if he just admitted it.
“Silly, dummyyy.”
Bliss hummed a happy tune, but it didn’t last long. Exactly three minutes later, he fell fast asleep, snoring.
Damn it, this is ridiculous.
He searched the bathroom several times, but the result was the same. There was nothing but these cursed pink pajamas. Absolutely nothing. After confirming that even his clothes had vanished, he could no longer contain himself and let out a scream.
“God damn it, fuck! This XXX XX XXX…”
He shouted while clutching his hair, but he couldn’t bring himself to hit the wall. His anger subsided for a brief moment when he looked at the marble bathroom walls. Instead, unable to hold back his rage, he swung his fist at the empty air.
Calm down, let’s calm down.
Cassian placed both hands on the vanity and took a deep breath. It’s just pajamas. Right, what’s the problem with pink? The fabric is soft and the design isn’t that bad. Those hearts are annoying, but they’re just a pattern. Right, it’s nothing.
“Phew.”
Cassian took another deep breath and straightened his back. Let’s just wash up and get out. The thought of that little peanut waiting for him made him want to stay here until morning, but he knew that was impossible.
Better to just get it over with.
Having made up his mind, he immediately stripped off his clothes and finished his shower quickly. There was a moment of hesitation before putting on the pajamas, but he overcame that too.
Alright, let’s go.
Having steeled himself, he stepped out of the bathroom and paused as he looked toward where Bliss had been. Where did that peanut go?
The culprit hadn’t gone far. Seeing Bliss snoring away on his bed, Cassian’s shoulders simply slumped.
This plot again.
Recalling that he had the exact same experience the day before, he felt hollow instead of angry. Why is it always like this?
The answer was already clear. It was because that brat was Bliss Miller. Hadn’t he known from the start that this cheeky thing would turn his life into a mess? Cassian lay down on the bed with a feeling of resignation. Right, just one day. He closed his eyes and repeated to himself that yesterday’s event was merely a coincidence with an incredibly low probability…
“Kuh.”
Right on cue, Bliss took a deep breath and rolled over, plunking his arms and legs right on top of Cassian. Of course. Just like the day before, Cassian started to push Bliss away but then stopped. Since he would just come back anyway, there was no need for unnecessary effort.
See, it always ends up like this.
Leaving the deeply sleeping, snoring Bliss alone, Cassian stared up at the ceiling. Damn it, even the ceiling is full of pink hearts…
And that was the last thing Cassian saw.
…He could hear birds chirping somewhere.
Cassian frowned with his eyes closed. As he listened closely, the sound of the birds became clearer. The song of birds announcing the morning.
Morning.
At that word, his eyes snapped open. Still lying down, Cassian hurriedly shifted his gaze left and right. The sunlight pouring through the window brightly illuminated the cursed pink world. Under the unusually brilliant sun, the pink looked even more hideous than the day before. What was even more hideous was Penelope’s face, looking down at him with a satisfied expression from beside the bed.
The butler, who had been quietly waiting for her master to wake up, beamed a wide smile as she looked down at Cassian, who turned pale in an instant.
“You slept very soundly, Count.”
As Cassian covered his face with one hand, his world going dark, Bliss—who had been resting his limbs on him until now—timed it perfectly and let out a loud, “Kuh,” as he snored.
Pour, Penelope poured juice into Bliss’s cup with a tender smile. Bliss also sent her an affectionate gaze and said, “Thank you, Penelope.”
They’re practically dripping with honey.
Cassian experienced a twisting sensation in his gut as he drank his strongly brewed black tea. As mentioned the day before, he had only a cup of black tea in front of him, but Bliss’s breakfast filled the entire plate. Watching Bliss neatly pop a piece of well-roasted tomato into his mouth, Cassian chewed over his thoughts.
It’s undeniable that this little peanut helps with my insomnia.
Unfortunately, he had to accept it now. Until this insomnia was cured, he had no choice but to use the boy. In exchange, it was practically a foregone conclusion that Cassian’s future life would be a mess.
Right, I expected this from the beginning.
However, there was an unexpected variable. It was Penelope.
Cassian glanced around the room, which could only be described as an eyesore, and then turned his gaze back to the two capybaras.
Turning the room into this state must have been the work of Penelope and that brat.
No matter how reckless Bliss was, it would be impossible for him to pull this off alone. There must be an accomplice, and that was undoubtedly Penelope. Seeing how she had talked nonsense about being relatives from the start, it was certain.
I have to find out what those two are plotting.
