The global championship came to an end.
On the way back home, Me. was completely immersed in celebration. They even hired a famous local drummer on the morning before boarding the plane. Breakfast with the trophy was particularly satisfying, and the medal around their neck hadn’t been taken off since the night before.
The drummer played lively music, creating a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere.
The morning after the victory was especially serene. As soon as they left the hotel, they were swarmed by foreign media reporters.
Some brands even rushed to offer endorsement deals, eager to collaborate. But the team, still basking in the immense joy of their triumph, had no time to spare for such matters.
Before boarding the plane, Sheep also took a photo and quietly saved it to his album.
Soon after, Sheep updated his personal Weibo:
@ME.Sheep: “We won.”
Accompanied by a picture of the gleaming trophy.
[Our baby is amazing!!]
[I can already feel how happy MianMian must be through the screen]
[Where’s Husband? Hurry, shove the dog food right into my mouth]
[Sheep is coming back to China, right?]
As the two biggest contributors to the championship, the young man didn’t follow the main group but chose to return with Mr. Ren instead.
On the way home,
they took a detour, leaving the city behind. They drove along a mountain road to the place where Grandma now rested.
Jing Mian bought a bouquet of roses—Grandma’s favorite flowers when she was alive—and, encouraged by his husband, gently bent down to place them in front of her grave.
The location was far from the city, surrounded by lush grass, towering trees, and a distant river. Nestled between mountains and water, it was breathtakingly beautiful.
Before leaving, the young man hesitated, his gaze lingering in the distance.
“Husband.”
“Hmm?”
“I want… to visit someone else while we’re here.”
This was Jing Mian’s second time visiting his mother this year.
He had always come alone before, quietly arriving and leaving without drawing attention or letting anyone know.
But this time, Mr. Ren was by his side.
His mother had loved gardening when she was alive, so after her passing, she was laid to rest in a place just as beautiful.
Jing Mian crouched down and placed the freshly bought bouquet in front of the tombstone.
It was baby’s breath—his mother’s favorite.
“Mom, this is my husband.”
Jing Mian spoke softly, as if sharing a secret, his back turned to Ren Xingwan: “The Brother I liked the most when I was little.”
A chilly breeze brushed against his cheeks, softened by the warm sunlight peeking over the mountain.
The young man was wrapped in a scarf by his husband, one end dangling loosely. The biting cold was kept at bay, replaced by a gradual warmth.
“Every time I came here, I told you I was doing well.”
Jing Mian paused for a long moment before continuing, his voice quieter: “But the truth is… I wasn’t doing well. I felt like I was trapped in that day.”
“The day you left.”
His voice was barely audible: “I thought I’d never be able to move on.”
The young man took a deep breath. When he raised his eyes again, his gaze was gentle yet resolute: “But now, I think I can finally tell you… I’m doing well.”
“I’m sorry for lying before.”
Lowering his gaze, Jing Mian suddenly remembered the championship medal he had brought back after the national tournament. Though the trophy wasn’t with him, he could at least show it to his mother.
With that, the young man turned and walked back toward the car.
Ren Xingwan stood before Song Zhinian’s grave, bending down to place a bouquet of flowers at its edge.
The man lowered his gaze, his voice deep yet carrying a whisper-soft tone:
“Thank you for bringing him into this world.”
“I will be good to him.”
…
The weather in Lincheng was a few degrees colder than abroad, but the mountainside grew increasingly warm, the scenery serene and beautiful, as if preparing to welcome the rising sun.
The two held hands, warmth seeping through their skin as the young man gradually tightened his fingers, interlacing them with Mr. Ren’s.
The first light of dawn slowly broke over the mountains.
It was the first sunrise of an ordinary yet long early winter.
The night faded away.
Pale clouds let in faint rays of light.
They stepped through the dawn, walking toward the future.
-The End –

What happened to the baby they had growing in the special private room’s artificial womb. I read all the way to the end for the baby and to hear Jing Mian took his little brother away from his dad. Damn it.
I am saying it is like they forgot about them, why would they write about the baby but not show them also there were supposed to meet the baby after a match but they didn’t write about it I am soo confused
