Once I let him into my room, the rest was obvious. When two people are alone in a space where it's easy to reach out and touch the other... emotion simply overwhelms reason.

Then, as we embrace and press our lips together, the sense of belonging connected through hugs, kisses, and intimate places would numb the anxiety and fear of the future. Anxiety is an invisible vagueness, whereas a body that can be touched and kissed right now is a far more concrete reality.

That was why the outcome for couples who use sex as a tool for reconciliation was so predictable. Nothing is fundamentally resolved; they simply cover the problem with the intimacy of skin against skin.
