Jae-il is an A-Class Backsplash Esper who has always lived on the edge because he never found a Guide compatible with him. Due to events from his past, he struggles to trust people and keeps physical contact with Guides to a minimum. Even under such adverse conditions, Jae-il pushes himself to the limit, having little attachment to the world. Then one day, news reaches him: a new A-Class Backsplash Guide is arriving at the Center. However, that Guide, Seung-hyun, hails from the 13th District and has received no formal training—he doesn't even know how to perform guiding!?
