Yu-jin shook his head urgently. He couldn’t hide his anxiety, feeling desperate that things might really turn out as Winston said.
“That’s impossible. Do you know what kind of feelings we have for each other? You, you don’t want to marry me and have a child either.”
He squeezed out his protest in a weak voice, but Winston only raised the corners of his mouth and sneered.
“Of course, the thought of a slut like you having my child makes me want to throw up. But what can I do? ‘My’ father, who ‘loves’ you so much, insists on seeing that happen.”
He let out a breathy laugh, then emphasized the words as if on purpose, dragging them out, before furrowing his brow.
“There’s no other way.”
No, there must be. There has to be. Yu-jin spat out desperately.
“You know what you have to do to have a child, right? You have to sleep with me, have sex.”
He thought that Winston would be embarrassed this time, but he was wrong again. He took the words without a care.
“It doesn’t matter. It’s no different from ejaculating into an omega male prostitute at a pheromone party.”
He must have thought about it countless times already. Every problem Yu-jin presented had already been repeated in his head several times, and he must have thought about all the possibilities.
And he must have come to this conclusion in the end.
No matter what Yu-jin said, nothing would change. He had already made his decision and wouldn’t be swayed by anything. Winston Campbell was that kind of man.
But Yu-jin couldn’t do that.
“But the child, having a child is…”
Winston mercilessly cut off Yu-jin’s words, who barely managed to squeeze out the sound.
“Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to raise that child.”
As if he had expected this reaction, he continued smoothly.
“Once the child is born, it’s mine. You can just take the money and leave. Oh, and take that child you came with.”
There were no errors in Winston’s words. But there was something that bothered him.
“…You’re going to raise it?”
Yu-jin couldn’t help but ask, surprised by the unexpected expression from a man who didn’t seem to fit with childcare at all. As if he had noticed his thoughts, Winston frowned and sneered at Yu-jin.
“Isn’t it obvious? Did you think I would entrust my child to you?”
He hadn’t even imagined this situation, so he hadn’t thought about what would happen after that. Without giving Yu-jin a chance, Winston continued.
“Or were you worried about having to take on another unwanted child?”
“What are you talking about?”
He couldn’t help but react sensitively to those words. At the sharp sound that leaked out, Winston shrugged with his hands in his pants pockets.
“Honey, we know each other inside and out. Save the pretense and trying to package yourself for other people.”
Thinly slit purple eyes looked down at Yu-jin. Filled with contempt.
“It’s disgusting.”
His words and actions were no different from before. As if insulting and criticizing Yu-jin was his rightful privilege.
He would have tolerated any contempt for himself. But he couldn’t tolerate the desecration of the child.
“Don’t talk about Angie carelessly, when you don’t know anything.”
Winston let out a short, airy laugh and sneered.
“I don’t know anything?”
“Yes.”
Yu-jin glared at him as much as he could and warned.
“You can say whatever you want about me. But not Angie. If you ever mention her like that again, I’ll never forgive you.”
He spoke with sincerity, but the man’s reaction was lukewarm. As if to say, what could someone like you do? Of course, that was the truth. Unfortunately.
“You don’t want to talk about the child?”
Winston asked in an indifferent voice. Without waiting for Yu-jin’s answer, he continued.
“Of course you wouldn’t want to mention it. That child is the price you paid for living such a messy life.”
Despite the warning, Winston was subtly mocking Yu-jin while mentioning the child. As if the child was a punishment God had given Yu-jin.
“Angie is a blessing to me.”
Yu-jin shot back immediately, but Winston still retorted sarcastically.
“Do you even know whose child it is?”
“It’s my child.”
“Hahaha.”
Winston laughed out loud at the words he had uttered without hesitation. It was a sound that mocked Yu-jin no matter who heard it. But Yu-jin said without wavering.
“We don’t need a daddy. We only need each other.”I’ve always thought so, and it’s been true. It will continue to be. Unlike Yu-jin’s determined expression, Winston opened his mouth with an indifferent face.
“I have the contract ready. We can proceed with the formalities immediately after you sign.”
“What contract?”
Winston chuckled at Yu-jin’s bewildered question.
“A prenuptial agreement, of course. You didn’t think I’d marry you without any conditions, did you?”
He was certain. That Yu-jin would do anything for money. Of course, he came prepared for that, but this was an exception.
“I won’t marry you. And I won’t have your child.”
Yu-jin straightened his back and said firmly.
“Think of another way. If there isn’t one, I’ll have to give up the inheritance.”
“Give up the money? You?”
He scoffed as if it were absurd, but Yu-jin’s attitude was firm.
“Yes. What would change for me anyway? I’d just be going back to the life I’ve always lived.”
It was a bluff, of course. He could live on the streets, but Angela couldn’t. Even after having his pride trampled on so much, he came back and sat here facing this arrogant man only for Angela’s sake. The desire to raise his child safely and comfortably in a good environment was no different for him than for any other parent. However, there was only one reason he could afford to act so boldly.
Winston will never give up the inheritance.
If so, Yu-jin was a very important prerequisite to achieve that goal. This was his only weapon, as someone with nothing. And he would never back down.
“I will never marry you.”
If I keep insisting that I won’t marry him, he’ll have no choice but to suggest another way.
He looked at him with confidence, but unexpectedly, Winston wore a strange expression.
“No, you will.”
“Me? Why?”
Yu-jin frowned and scoffed at him.
“Aren’t you a little too full of yourself? I’m sorry, but absolutely not. Even if you were the only alpha left in the world, I would never marry you or sleep with you.”
Winston didn’t say anything to his firm refusal. It felt like he had taken the initiative for the first time against him. He vowed never to let it be taken away again.
Winston, who had been staring at Yu-jin with narrowed eyes, slowly opened his mouth.
“Honey.”
He felt an ominous premonition, and the man muttered, twisting his lips.
“You don’t think I know whose child that is?”
Yu-jin’s mind went blank for a moment. Empty would be a more accurate description. His heart, which had seemed to stop for a moment, began to pound like crazy, and his mouth went dry. What? What did I just hear?
What did this man just say to me?
“Wh, whose child? I told you, it’s my child.”
Winston frowned and chuckled at Yu-jin’s reaction, which was clearly different from before. Yu-jin also realized that he had made a huge mistake. No matter what he said here, it wouldn’t get any better. To avoid the worst, it was better to keep his mouth shut.
But it seemed like everything was already over.
“Don’t bother with futile attempts, I know. Everything.”
Winston continued slowly, watching Yu-jin become noticeably flustered.
“Don’t even think about trying to outsmart me. You’ll only expose your true colors.”
“That’s a lie…”
A weak voice escaped from Yu-jin’s lips. Winston asked back at his convulsing, shaking eyes.
“A lie?”
“Yes!”
Yu-jin shouted urgently, becoming anxious.
“How would you know that? That’s ridiculous, I won’t fall for such a lie, do you think I’m that gullible?”
