Moon Gyeon-woo spoke in a gentle voice, without so much as blinking. However, everyone present knew. He simply wanted to pick on Choi Hwan. In his heart, he wanted to snatch that instant rice away and carefully feed it to Yeon-rok, spoonful by spoonful.

Since it was true that he had gained about 1kg recently, Choi Hwan, trembling with rage, clung to Yeon-rok right in front of Moon Gyeon-woo and cutely begged for food.

“Yeon-rok-ahhh. Just one bite.”

Seeing that he insisted on being fed by Yeon-rok despite having two perfectly functional hands, Moon Gyeon-woo’s eyes flared with fire. He was a truly obnoxious fellow.

In the past, he would have shouted and fought immediately, but for now, he endured it. He intended to remain as peaceful as possible, at least in front of Yeon-rok. Because Yeon-rok had such a soft and tender nature that he became distressed whenever they fought, the person who loved him more should be the one to endure, shouldn’t they?

Yeom Cheon-ho sat down quite a while after the meal had started, as he had been on a long call with several mysterious people. He smiled and expressed his gratitude.

“Thank you for preparing the meal, Mr. Gyeon-woo.”

Was it just a feeling? For some reason, it felt like a legal wife speaking to a concubine…

Actually, this man was just as obnoxious. In terms of being black-hearted and difficult to read, he was even worse than Choi Hwan. The root of all evil! The only good thing about being entangled with this human was that he had become Yeon-rok’s name partner.

Moon Gyeon-woo was certain that if he hadn’t been connected to Yeon-rok by a name, he would have lived the rest of his life in emptiness. He had dated countless times until now, but he had never truly opened his heart. Only Yeon-rok was his first and only.

Above all, as someone conducting research related to names, he knew well. Name partners aren’t simply close because a name appeared. A name appears because their compatibility was good to begin with. Therefore, no matter what anyone said, Moon Gyeon-woo’s lover was Lee Yeon-rok.

Those two humans—while they did have some contact effect since they shared the same name—were not even comparable to Yeon-rok. He found them infinitely unpleasant and wanted to keep them far away.

Yes, for him, there was only Lee Yeon-rok.

“Yeon-rok-ah, eat a lot.”

Moon Gyeon-woo attentively fed and looked after Yeon-rok. It was a lovely sight to see a reddish flush return to his cheeks. Though he tried to pretend otherwise, Yeon-rok suffered from a deficiency of affection. That was the first trait Gyeon-woo had identified as soon as he paid attention to him. That was why Yeon-rok couldn’t reject the attention and affection given by not only him, but also Yeom Cheon-ho and Choi Hwan. It was both a strength and a weakness.

“But isn’t there too much food clustered only in front of me?”

Painfully for Moon Gyeon-woo, it was true that Yeon-rok’s affection was currently leaning a bit more toward Yeom Cheon-ho. However, he accepted it as inevitable. That emotionless human had treated Yeon-rok well without ulterior motives in the beginning. It was attention without affection, but that alone was enough to steal Yeon-rok’s heart. Thinking of the opportunity he had missed, Moon Gyeon-woo’s heart ached.

“Hyung, I’m really full now.”

I’ll do better from now on and become the legal wife…

As Moon Gyeon-woo snapped back to his senses after that absentminded thought, he recoiled. Legal wife! Even though it was his own thought, it felt truly unpleasant. They were all in similar positions; there was just a slight difference in affection.

“Huff, huff, I feel like my stomach is going to burst…”

Having finally fed Yeon-rok enough to satisfy him, Moon Gyeon-woo brewed some plum tea to help with digestion. Fearing he might get indigestion, he took him outside and made him walk circles around the orphanage courtyard. While walking through the yard holding hands with Moon Gyeon-woo, Yeon-rok looked up at the night sky.

“Maybe it’s because it’s not the city, but the stars are really bright here too.”

“Did you see many stars on the island?”

“Yeah, just the absence of artificial lights alone makes stargazing a completely different experience.”

Then, in a somewhat shy voice, he said:

“Looking at the stars there made me think of you, Hyung. When this matter is settled safely, do you want to go to an observatory and look at the stars?”

Ah. Yeon-rok’s words—that he thought of him while looking at the stars—were so lovely that Moon Gyeon-woo felt his heart swell.

“Of course. I’ll go with you as many times as you want.”

Overwhelmed, he unconsciously leaned down and kissed Yeon-rok, leaving the other’s face ripening red.

After being fed full and taken for a walk, Yeon-rok soon looked sleepy. Moon Gyeon-woo laid a sleeping bag on a temporary mattress he had acquired. He tucked Yeon-rok inside and zipped him in securely. Perhaps staying on the island had been quite exhausting, as Yeon-rok fell asleep instantly.

After staring at his peacefully sleeping face for a long time, Gyeon-woo stepped out. He saw Choi Hwan sleeping, crumpled up haphazardly stolen contentin a corner. He didn’t care how the latter slept. unauthorized copyYeom Cheon-ho was preoccupied with calls, having set up his phone and laptop. Once Moon Gyeon-woo was certain no one was watching him, he quietly headed somewhere.

The place he arrived at was the orphanage storage room. The moment he unlocked the door and entered, the people trapped inside began to mumble urgently. After locking the door behind him, Moon Gyeon-woo approached Yoo Young-taek. As he removed the gag, Yoo Young-taek spoke frantically.

“L-look! If you release me, I’ll compensate you handsomely.”

Moon Gyeon-woo stared silently at Yoo Young-taek’s face. Since he was the biological father, they did look somewhat alike, but it still felt unpleasant. There were similarities to his son, as they shared the same genes. Still, to Moon Gyeon-woo, he seemed to take more after the biological mother.

“100 million! I’ll give you 100 million. No, name the amount you want! I can give you more… Aagh!”

Yoo Young-taek screamed. Moon Gyeon-woo had suddenly slammed his fist into him.

“…Ugh.”

Moon Gyeon-woo looked at his hand with disgust, as if he had touched something foul. Looking at this ugly face that resembled Yeon-rok just a tiny bit, anger surged within him, and he couldn’t hold back. Since he had never encountered violence in his entire life, his punching was quite clumsy. Because the opponent looked up at him in bewilderment, he hit him once more.

“It’s disgusting how you look like Yeon-rok.”

“No, I—I am the father, so of course…”

As Yoo Young-taek tried to argue back, bewildered by the absurd accusation, claiming that the son naturally resembles the father, he was hit again.

“Don’t you dare try to act like Yeon-rok’s father now, it’s disgusting.”

Since he looked poised to deny it, Gyeon-woo gave him another hit.

Being very generous, one could say he might not have known his son was in the truck when he rammed into it. However, after that, instead of taking him to a hospital, he kidnapped him and dragged him to a dangerous place, so there was absolutely no room for forgiveness.

Because Moon Gyeon-woo was a pacifist, he felt truly unpleasant having to resort to violence. Feeling annoyed that this man had made him punch someone, he gave him one more hit before bringing up the purpose of his visit to Assemblyman Yoo Young-taek.

“You cooperated with Yeom Cheon-ryul’s name manifestation research 20 years ago, didn’t you?”

Having been beaten every time he spoke, Yoo Young-taek didn’t [unauthorized [stolen content][stolen content]copy]open his mouth. With a mottled, bruised face, he merely nodded while gauging the situation.

“If you conducted human experiments on that scale, there must have been a separate location serving as a laboratory. Where is it? And what are the identities of the researchers who collaborated on the study at the time?”

“Why… why are you asking about something from 20 years ago now, I don’t really…”

The way he stammered made it clear he knew something. Moon Gyeon-woo was about to punch him again, but since he hated getting his hands dirty, he opened the bag he had brought. What came out were latex gloves, kitchen shears, a hammer, and various other tools. This was the other reason he had intentionally gone out to buy food.

“To think I’d end up doing something like this…”

Moon Gyeon-woo lamented deeply as he laid the tools out on the floor one by one. But it couldn’t be helped.

He had been feeling anxious about the lack of progress in his research, and hearing about Yoo Young-taek reminded him of something. It was the data from the name manifestation experiment they had undergone 20 years ago. Yeom Cheon-ryul would be keeping those records, and they would surely be of great help to him.

If he were lucky and the research went well, he would be able to escape Name Contact Deficiency within a few years. Imagining himself and Yeon-rok living alone as official lovers with matching ‘name’ tattoos, a happy smile naturally appeared on his face.

“I wish Yeon-rok knew how hard I’m working for him. …No. It’s better if he doe[unauthorized [[unauthorized copy]class="wm" style="opacity:0;font-size:1px;user-select:all;">stolen content]copy]sn’t know about this.”

Would this be better? Or that? As he seriously agonized, picking up and putting down the tools, Yoo Young-taek’s expression turned pale. It was obvious that this man was a complete lunatic.
