“You’ve worked hard again, Miller.”
The Representative of the law firm, who had come to his office in person, smiled brightly and extended his hand. Dominic, coming around the desk, shook his hand with a practiced smile, and the Representative hugged him and patted his back as if he had been waiting for it.
Dominic didn’t particularly like this kind of physical contact. Rather, he was closer to hating it, but his highly socialized reason calmly suppressed the unpleasant feeling.
Releasing himself at the right moment and naturally letting go of his hand, he looked down at the Representative with a faint smile. The Representative couldn’t hide his joy and showered him with praise.
“You’re the best as always. You’re always making a big splash! Why do you keep refusing the offer to be a partner lawyer? You could get so much more than you do now!”
Looking down at him, who was clearly showing his disappointment, Dominic replied simply.
“I’m happy enough as I am now.”
“You always say the same thing.”
The Representative clicked his tongue bitterly before frowning.
“If you get an offer from another law firm, tell me right away. I’ll match whatever conditions they offer.”
Dominic didn’t pay much attention to this, as he always heard it. Whether the Representative was sincere or not, if he wanted to leave, no amount of pleading from others would matter.
“Now that the case is over, you’ll have to take another vacation, right? When are you planning to take it?”
As if not wanting to waste time with meaningless words and upset Dominic, the Representative quickly changed the subject and asked. Dominic readily answered.
“As soon as the office is cleaned up. I’m planning to rest for about two weeks.”
“Two weeks, I see.”
The Representative nodded and took a deep breath to change the atmosphere.
“Then get some rest. Forget about work and clear your head!”
The Representative, letting out a “wahaha” laugh, turned around. When the chessboard on the table came into view, he asked with an interested expression.
“How far has this progressed? Is White winning?”
“Not yet.”
Dominic answered, also turning his gaze to the board.
“I couldn’t concentrate because of the trial. I should finish it soon.”
“That’s right, knock him down completely, just like in court.”
The Representative, raising his fist and shaking it, left, and Dominic was finally alone. After letting out a short sigh, he returned to his seat and was organizing his computer when the bell rang. He pressed the speaker button and answered briefly, and the Secretary spoke from the other side.
“Mr. Miller, you have a visitor. His name is Ashley Dawson.”
Dominic stared at the phone without saying anything. The Secretary continued to speak.
“He says he met you at a party. He wants to apologize for dirtying your suit.”
Only then did he recall. The man who had presumptuously offered him money. What was he trying to pull, suddenly showing up like this?
Dominic narrowed his eyes and looked down at the phone once more. With just one word from him, the man would return empty-handed. He might never appear again. Then everything would be over.
That wouldn’t be so bad, but suddenly a strange impulse arose.
‘Please contact me.’
The voice that flowed from his slightly parted lips seemed to whisper in his ear. Dominic, who had been silent for a while with his finger on the speaker button, slowly opened his mouth.
“Send him in.”
He pressed the button to hang up, and a knock soon followed. He watched silently as the door opened and the man he had expected appeared.
“Hello.”
Dominic remained seated, only looking at the face that smiled, folding his long eyes in half. It was only a very brief moment, but the man who had thrown his whole body into his arms walked across the office with steady steps and extended his hand across the desk.
“Thank you for seeing me. I’m Ashley Dawson.”
Dominic shook hands as a formality, keeping his gaze fixed on Ashley’s face.
“How did you know?”
Ashley replied with a smile as he released his hand.
“Everyone knows Dominic Miller’s office.”
His eyes narrowed even further, becoming closer to a crescent moon. The deep dimples near the corners of his mouth reminded him of a poet’s words, “an angel’s mistake.”
How ridiculous, Dominic scoffed to himself. Just the fact that he had come here made it clear that the man had done it on purpose.
Dominic leaned back in his chair and looked at the man with an arrogant gaze.
“Isn’t spilling wine a bit of a classic method?”
The man boldly smiled at the question full of sarcasm.
“Classic is the best.”
Unlike his delicate appearance, he was quite firm. Far from being intimidated by Dominic, he maintained a relaxed attitude and brought up the words he had prepared.
“Actually, I came to make you an offer.”
“An offer?”
There were few people in the world who would dare to use such a word to Dominic Miller. But this was the second time for Ashley. Dominic repeated his words as if he had heard a word he had never heard before, a word whose meaning he could not understand. But Ashley still didn’t lose his smile and took out a business card from his pocket and placed it on the desk.
“I’d like to scout Mr. Miller to our law firm.”
Ashley pushed the business card towards Dominic and straightened his back. Dominic silently looked down at the business card before slowly picking it up. The card in his fingers read “Consultant,” as was common for other lobbyists.
Ashley J. Dawson.
Ashley continued to speak to Dominic, who slowly shifted his gaze and scanned the letters on the business card.
“As you know, our law firm has been the undisputed number one in the United States for the past 10 years. If you come to our company, I promise you the best treatment.”
His passionate attitude was quite refreshing. And whether he had practiced quite a bit or was just naturally like that, his confident tone wasn’t bad either. Interesting. Just the fact that he had aroused his interest, which was feeling jaded with everything in the world, was quite something, Dominic asked briefly.
“How?”
“First, I’ll give you a partner position.”
He answered without hesitation. The man continued to list various things that he must have carefully considered, but Dominic gradually became bored. His interest wasn’t in such trivial and obvious things. The sound gradually faded away, and before he knew it, all his senses were focused on his sight. His constantly moving lips caught his attention. There must be a better place for them than spouting nonsense.
A deep pink tongue peeked out from between his slightly parted lips. What would it be like to make him kneel on the floor and suck his cock? It would be better to strip him naked. What color would his nipples be? Would they turn as red as that tongue when he got excited?
“So.”
Dominic slowly rose from his chair. The man stood still and watched him walk around the desk and approach him. Slowly, step by step, he stood face to face with the man.
“Dawson.”
Dominic slowly raised his hand. His hand, which had come close as if to caress the man’s cheek, slowly brushed against his ear and moved towards the back of his neck.
“Do you think I’ll be so happy to hear those conditions that I’ll shed tears?”
His tone was full of sarcasm. But his voice was lowered as if whispering sweet nothings, so if someone wasn’t very perceptive, they might have mistaken it for a joke. Fortunately, the man wasn’t that oblivious.
“N-No…”
His voice faded as if embarrassed. His faintly reddened cheeks caught his eye.
“At least, I thought you wouldn’t be displeased…”
“…”
“I’m sorry.”
The words that had followed as if protesting turned into an apology at the silent gaze. But he was surprisingly someone who didn’t know how to give up. As if he had regained himself, he raised his head and said with the same confident expression as before.
“Then, do you have any conditions you want? We are prepared to accept any offer.”
Dominic looked down at him without saying anything, adding a light smile to his face so that the other person wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. His neck was slender and long like a deer’s. As he imagined his red handprints being imprinted on that neck, which seemed like it could be easily grasped in Dominic’s one hand, his heart began to beat a little faster.
This man must be an Omega.
He couldn’t smell any Pheromone scent, but he was sure. As always, his subtle Pheromone scent could be felt around him. This man had probably taken a drug. That’s why he could stand here so nonchalantly.
“Mr. Miller?”
The man called his name again, puzzled. Dominic still only looked down at him without saying anything. Soon after, a strong Pheromone scent enveloped the man’s entire body.
