Epilogue
Autumn was already deepening, and gingko leaves were falling one by one, piling up on the streets. Dane was experiencing an unfamiliar chill in his first autumn in an eastern city he had never visited before.
He sighed, exhaling again, and glanced back. The building connected to the steps where Dane was squatting was a brownstone townhouse, well over 100 years old. The building, which was obviously worth a tremendous amount at first glance, did not seem suitable for Chase Miller, a top star, and his family to live in. Above all, it seemed that privacy would not be protected at all, but surprisingly, apart from the occasional passerby, no particularly suspicious reactions were noticeable.
“Did your chocolate bar melt away with all the fans? You’re really living in a place like this.”
“My partner’s name is Chase Miller, Dane. Not chocolate bar.”
Joshua, who was sitting on the first step like Dane, corrected him in a calm voice. Dane stretched languidly and said, “Anyway.”
“It was hard to find you living in a place like this. Don’t tell me you were running away from Grayson?”
At Dane’s question, Joshua frowned, but soon shrugged.
“Why wouldn’t I be? That bastard is chasing me around to apologize, how can I just stand still? Who knows what he’ll do.”
In fact, it was a temporary residence. He was only planning to stay for three weeks, but he got caught. Is this the limit? Joshua thought bitterly. Then, Dane whistled briefly.
“But you left them alone together so well.”
It was true. Inside the brownstone townhouse behind them were Grayson and Dane. And one more person.
“Don’t treat Nathaniel like he doesn’t exist.”
At Joshua’s words, Dane chuckled and pointed out, “To be exact, it’s the kid Nathaniel sent.”
Nathaniel’s partner, Crishi, is 180 centimeters tall, so he is by no means small. Joshua, who is 185 centimeters tall, knew very well how he felt struggling among these ridiculous giants.
“Anyway, that kid doesn’t seem like he’s going to resolve any situation that might arise.”
“Nathaniel must have a plan.”
Even so, Joshua was just as anxious. He was respecting Chase’s wishes to talk alone, who had bravely suggested it, so he was sitting here in this state…
Dane felt the same way. However, from the opposite perspective, he was worried that Chase might beat up Grayson.
‘Just say you’re sorry, that you understand.’
Until right before coming here, Dane had urged him like that. He had barely found out where Chase and Joshua were and came all the way here, but he wasn’t sure if he would be able to meet them. Dane just believed. That Joshua would be able to talk to them.
So they are now sitting together on the steps. Waiting for their respective partners.
“More than that, what really happened to you?”
At Joshua’s sudden question, Dane paused as he took out a cigarette. Meeting the gaze directed at him, Joshua continued.
“Did you really get into that kind of relationship with Grayson? Not just a sex partner or something?”
Dane stared at his face without saying a word.
Desire Me if you can
Inside the quiet drawing room, Grayson and Chase sat facing each other. In the chilling silence, Chase crossed his arms with a grim expression, while Grayson leaned forward as much as possible towards his brother, grinning as usual.
The man sitting on the sofa in the center, watching them, had not said a word so far. He said he came to mediate instead of Nathaniel, but he was practically non-existent. Eventually, Chase spoke first to him, who was just breathing.
“What are you doing? There must be a reason why Nathaniel sent you.”
From the beginning, he didn’t even know why this man was here. If Nathaniel himself had come, maybe…
When Chase felt a chill as he recalled the cold eyes looking down at him, the man who introduced himself as Crishi Jin opened his mouth.
“He just told me to come and watch.”
“…That’s it?”
Chase asked, dumbfounded. The only answer he got back was, “Yes.” Frustrated, Chase blurted out roughly.
“You came all the way here for just that? Aren’t you a prosecutor? Are you that free? Why did you come?”
When he pressed him repeatedly, Crishi smiled on his handsome face and replied.
“Because it seemed interesting.”
Chase was speechless. Then, anger surged. Everyone in this family is just busy making fun of me. What are they all doing?
His face flushed red with anger, but no one in the room was afraid of him. Crishi was a Beta, so he was not affected by Pheromone, and to Grayson, he was just a younger brother he had to protect.
“Why did you crawl all the way here? Who wants to see you?”
In the end, Chase vented his anger on Grayson. He was sure that he would turn his stomach upside down again, so he thought he should just beat him up as much as he wanted.
Hmm, Grayson scratched his cheek and suddenly grinned.
“I came to apologize to you.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.”
Chase immediately spat out profanity. He was well aware that this damn guy was traveling all over the United States making apologies. The reason he had been avoiding him all along was because he thought it was meaningless to receive an apology from this guy.
Because it wouldn’t be a sincere apology anyway, and he would just end up scratching my insides.
Chase knew Grayson well. He had been suffering from him since he was very young. And yet, he always said things like ‘for your sake,’ which was absurd.
It would be the same this time.
Just as he thought that, Grayson opened his mouth.
“I did something terrible to you in the past.”
This was a line that Dane had taught him. Grayson spoke, trying to make his voice sound as pitiful and guilty as possible.
“I apologize for everything I did, regardless of your feelings and intentions. I’m sorry.”
Chase’s face, which had been distorted, slowly relaxed. His head, which was gradually changing to a surprised expression, was full of confusion.
What’s going on?
Wasn’t this a word that he thought would never come out of that man’s mouth? Moreover, he is pointing out the problem accurately. Does this make sense?
“Who taught you?”
Chase asked, wary.
“There’s no way you could have come up with this on your own. Who is it?”
At those words, Grayson readily replied.
“Dane told me.”
“I knew it.”
Grayson spoke again to Chase, who was snorting.
“But I was the one who wanted to apologize.”
Chase, who had turned his head away, glanced at him. It was only then that his head turned back.
“I was the one who came up with the reason why I should apologize.”
Chase just stared at Grayson with a doubtful expression.
Desire Me if you can
Joshua still had an unbelievable expression. He had the same expression when he saw Dane, who had appeared with Grayson earlier. Dane took out a lighter, lit a cigarette, and exhaled smoke.
“That’s how it happened, somehow.”
“Somehow.”
Joshua repeated Dane’s words, but his expression was full of doubt. As if to say, how could that come out of your mouth? At the persistent gaze, Dane chuckled.
“Think about how you were, Joshua Bailey. I didn’t know you would become so chaste.”
“People call it settling down, Dane. And I still had more restraint than you.”
At the slight jab, Dane stopped moving with the cigarette in his mouth. This bastard, is he trying to get out of it alone?
It didn’t end there. Joshua added another word, resentfully.
“Wasn’t Crishi your type too? It’s a shame you couldn’t just take him and sleep with him like you used to.”
Joshua patted him on the shoulder as if to comfort him and smiled brightly. Dane was dumbfounded at the refreshing smile.
“Who was it that went around clubs with me looking for someone? Did you forget? I remember the mole on your dirty ass.”
“You think I wouldn’t know?”
Joshua exposed him without giving in.
“You like spanking asses, spanking them while they’re handcuffed. You pervert!”
