FH 1.3
“Oppa, why are you out here?”
Walking up the stone steps of the yard, Gyeong-jin spotted Jang-ho standing by the door and waved. As he hurried over, Jang-ho opened the door and spoke.
“I was waiting for you. Thanks for coming. Did you bring that bag on purpose?”
Gyeong-jin looked down at the bag in one hand and nodded. It contained the supplies necessary for house-call medical visits.
“Where is the Chairman?”
“He’s waiting. Let’s go in.”
Gyeong-jin tidied his clothes and followed Jang-ho inside. Fortunately, there were no other pressing matters today, allowing him to visit Won-hyeop’s house at this hour.
“The patient I’m seeing is the delivery driver who had a fender-bender with the Chairman, right?”
“Yeah.”
“How’s his condition?”
As Gyeong-jin asked while walking down the hallway, Jang-ho replied simply.
“See for yourself.”
Gyeong-jin didn’t usually make house calls by seeking out patients himself. Had anyone other than Won-hyeop called him, he wouldn’t have come.
“It’s not to the point where we need to call 119, is it?”
Jang-ho merely looked back without answering, leaving Gyeong-jin with a questioning expression.
Upon arriving in front of Won-hyeop’s room, Jang-ho knocked. A voice replied, “Come in.” When they opened the door, Won-hyeop was standing before the bed with his arms crossed. Gyeong-jin gave a brief glance at Ji-su, who was lying on the bed, and greeted Won-hyeop politely.
“It’s been a while, Chairman. Have you been doing well?”
Won-hyeop answered curtly.
“Yeah. I’ve been fine.”
“I’ve been meaning to pay my respects since it’s been so long, so thank you for calling me.”
“Don’t mention it.”
Gyeong-jin was well aware that Won-hyeop was a former gang leader. Although he was now the chairman of a mid-sized company with affiliates in various fields, his gang roots could be felt sporadically during conversation. If it weren’t for Jang-ho, he was a man Gyeong-jin would never have crossed paths with in his life.
However, since he was no longer a child, Gyeong-jin didn’t find Won-hyeop uncomfortable. With his immense connections in politics and business, Won-hyeop’s name had frequently appeared in the news until a few years ago—specifically, while he was aggressively expanding his company.
“The kid’s in bad shape. Take a look.”
Won-hyeop didn’t seem particularly sorry for having summoned him, gesturing toward Ji-su with his chin.
“He’s not just skinny; he’s on the verge of kicking the bucket.”
Approaching the bed, Gyeong-jin looked down at Ji-su. Lying with the blanket pulled up to his shoulders, Ji-su’s neck was so thin that the shape of the bone was clearly visible. By his face and everything else, he was clearly an adult male, but the body beneath the blanket was strange. It didn’t feel like a person was under there, but rather a rolled-up burlap sack. In other words, there was absolutely no sense of volume.
He was extremely emaciated, barely maintaining a human impression thanks to the baby fat in his cheeks. It looked as if he had been left under the scorching sun and dried out until just before death.
“I’ll move the blanket and examine him.”
“Go ahead.”
The moment Gyeong-jin pulled back the blanket, he recoiled in shock. He had treated all sorts of patients at the hospital, but he was left speechless. Cookie, who had been somewhere, came fluttering into the room, wagging its tail. However, Gyeong-jin was too surprised to even greet the dog.
Lying on the bed, Ji-su looked almost like a mummy. He was wearing oversized pajamas, and through the gap in the front of the top, his clavicle was visible; the skin was barely clinging to the bone. It wouldn’t have been strange if he had suffered cardiac arrest right this second.
“Professor Park, you’re appalled too, aren’t you?”
Won-hyeop sighed and shook his head. At the same time, the corners of his mouth twitched into a smile, as if something good were happening.
“Driving a motorcycle in this state, no wonder he slammed into the bumper like a blind man.”
Won-hyeop uncrossed his arms and put his hands in his trouser pockets. Even seeing Gyeong-jin’s Read on Read BL Novelsgrim expression, he visit our sitedidn’t hide his [unauthorized copy]subtle smile, his lips continuing to twitch.
Since he had unexpectedly fulfilled one wish in the bathroom just a few minutes ago, he wanted to gradually fulfill his other wishes one by one. What he wanted most was for Ji-su to pee on him. Not just a teasing trickle, but a full stream, enough to serve as a shower. It would be the icing on the cake if he spat on him as well.
Having stripped Ji-su’s lower half and washed him, getting a full view of that secret place, he could easily imagine Ji-su letting out a refreshing stream of urine. That place, devoid of a single hair and as pale as the nickname he had given it, would surely turn bright red after holding it in and finally letting go. He wanted to fatten him up quickly and fuck him until he was sick of it, leaving no semen left in his balls.
“Do they say he’s eating properly?”
At Gyeong-jin’s question, Won-hyeop wiped away his pleased smile and answered.
“Yeah. He said he had dinner today too.”
After examining Ji-su’s body, Gyeong-jin immediately suspected a psychiatric issue. However, since it wasn’t his specialty and it didn’t seem appropriate to mention it to Won-hyeop while Ji-su was unconscious, he kept it to himself.
“If he’s eating but not absorbing nutrients, he needs a detailed examination at a hospital.”
“I agree.”
Even without pulling back all the blankets, Gyeong-jin could roughly guess Ji-su’s weight.
“The nutritional deficiency looks too severe. Immediate inpatient treatment is urgent.”
“Right now?”
“Yes, you should call 119 and get him processed at the hospital as soon as he arrives.”
Gyeong-jin took the situation seriously, but Won-hyeop, not being a doctor and not particularly fond of the idea of Ji-su being hospitalized, reacted indifferently.
“Does he really have to be admitted?”
“The risk of sudden death due to cardiac arrest is high, so outpatient treatment is meaningless.”
“Will he just drop dead if he’s not admitted right now?”
“Yes. His body is in a state where it’s squeezing energy from the heart to survive, so there’s no telling when arrhythmia or heart failure symptoms will occur.”
Gyeong-jin checked the time on his wristwatch. He felt they should call 119 as soon as possible.
“I’ll wake the patient first to talk, and then I’ll hand him over to the hospital.”
However, Won-hyeop thought differently.
“Why the rush to admit him?”
Not having called Gyeong-jin expecting inpatient treatment, Won-hyeop pressed his lips into a thin line, showing his displeasure. He didn’t even blink at the mention of cardiac arrest. Just then, Cookie, standing beside Gyeong-jin, wagged its tail vigorously, and Won-hyeop spoke leisurely to Gyeong-jin.
“Professor Park, greet Cookie properly.”
Despite every second being critical, Gyeong-jin couldn’t bring himself to argue with Won-hyeop’s request unauthorized copyand patted [stolen content]Cookie’s head. Cookie wagged its tail even harder, but Gyeong-jin quickly withdrew his hand and gently shook Ji-su’s shoulder.
“Patient.”
Won-hyeop raised an eyebrow because Gyeong-jin was touching Ji-su’s shoulder.
“Please wake up, patient.”
With a scowl on his face, Won-hyeop pulled his hand out of his pocket and spoke.
“Move aside. I’ll wake him.”
Pushing Gyeong-jin’s arm aside somewhat rudely, Won-hyeop approached Ji-su. He called his name quite affectionately, “Ji-su-ya.” The way he shook his shoulder was rough, and Ji-su’s eyelids flickered before he finally opened his eyes. However, unable to tell where he was, he only blinked slowly.
Won-hyeop smiled broadly, finding the half-awake Ji-su adorable.
“You’re awake?”
Unlike Won-hyeop, Gyeong-jin spoke in a stiff voice.
“Patient, are you able to communicate?”
From Ji-su’s perspective, it was a stranger referring to him as ‘patient,’ but Gyeong-jin prioritized Ji-su’s physical condition over any reluctance Ji-su might feel, so he hurriedly introduced himself.
Meanwhile, Ji-su mumbled in a daze.
“Here… go… where…”
It was Won-hyeop who answered.
“It’s my room.”
Having deliberately placed Ji-su in this room instead of the guest room, Won-hyeop cast a satisfied gaze at Ji-su, who was wearing his pajamas.
Gyeong-jin asked again in a stiff voice.
“Excuse me, but do you have any pre-existing medical conditions?”
Ji-su’s expression gradually hardened. His gaze quickly became clear, filled with tension.
“…”
The situation before he lost consciousness finally came back to him. Since he had peed, his underwear and pants must have been wet, so Won-hyeop must have cleaned him up. A feeling of despair washed over him.
“I nearly jumped out of my skin while washing you.”
Gyeong-jin paused for a moment at the word ‘washing,’ but Won-hyeop continued nonchalantly.
“How can a body be like that?”
Ji-su couldn’t bring himself to look not only at Won-hyeop but also at Gyeong-jin and Jang-ho, so he turned his head away. His ears burned hot.
“It’s the first time in my life I’ve seen underwear waistbands with so much room to spare.”
Knowing it was no time for small talk, Gyeong-jin spoke to Ji-su.
“As soon as the consultation is over, I’ll call an ambulance to transport you to a university hospital. Would that be alright?”
In an instant, Ji-su shuddered and pushed himself up to a sitting position. Even the short motion of sitting up looked precarious.
“N-no, it’s fine…”
Ji-su looked around, searching for his phone. Fortunately, it was on the bedside table, and he grabbed it quickly.
“Something came up at home and I forgot… I’ll be going now…”
Terrified of this situation as much as he had been before losing consciousness, Ji-su looked away from Gyeong-jin, completely frightened. If he were admitted to a hospital, he would be fed food containing salt and sugar. He would gain weight uncontrollably and quickly enter the 50kg range. He didn’t want to increase his weight by even a single gram.
“Then you can go home, resolve your business, and then we’ll transfer you to the hospital.”
Gyeong-jin repeated himself, but Ji-su, pale with fear, stammered.
“I-I have no intention of being admitted… My body is just like this, but [Read on Read BL Novels]there’s nothing wrong with my health…”
Pushing the blanket aside, Ji-su swung his legs off the bed and stood up. Then he looked up at Won-hyeop.
“…Please give me my clothes.”
Just as Gyeong-jin was about to say more, Won-hyeop pushed Ji-su’s chest and sat him back down on the bed.
“Listen to him. Where do you think you’re going with a body like that?”
Ji-su almost tumbled back because Won-hyeop pushed him so hard, but he barely managed to brace his waist and sit upright. His vision blurred with dizziness.
“And you can’t go because you have no clothes.”
Won-hyeop spoke slyly.
“If you want to go naked, be my guest.”
Won-hyeop swallowed, wanting to suck on Ji-su’s pale cheek and leave a bite mark. As if reading his mind, Ji-su hurriedly dropped his head and mumbled.
“W-what’s wrong with my clothes…?”
“I shoved them in the laundry basket in the laundry room.”
Won-hyeop liked how Ji-su was intimidated and cautious. It was much better [Read on Read BL Novels]to see than him being cheeky and full of energy. If he grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and forced him face down to strip his pants, he wouldn’t be able to resist once and would expose his pale, plump buttocks.
“Oh. More importantly, what is that phone?”
Looking down at Ji-su’s old phone, Won-hyeop clicked his tongue.
“Like a piece of junk.”
Ji-su couldn’t respond and secretly checked Gyeong-jin’s expression. He was anxious, fearing Gyeong-jin would call 119 at any moment. Even if he had to die, he had to go home first.
“I really have an urgent matter… So please lend me some clothes…”
Gyeong-jin stepped in instead of Won-hyeop.
“Please visit the hospital yourself tomorrow morning and complete the admission process. If it’s hard to come, I’ll send an ambulance to your home…”
“No, no… I’m fine, really…”
Standing up from the bed, Ji-su said to Won-hyeop, “The clothes…”, but Won-hyeop smirked.
“I don’t want to.”
Lifting his chin as if asking what he was going to do about it, Won-hyeop didn’t take the situation seriously even after seeing Gyeong-jin’s grave face. Only thinking of how to keep Ji-su from leaving, he smiled mischievously and said something absurd.
“If you want to go, go pick up the clothes you stripped off and wear them.”
Surprisingly, Ji-su nodded.
“…I’ll do that.”
Won-hyeop gestured with his chin toward the door.
“Go out into the hallway and turn left. Third room.”
“Patient,” Gyeong-jin tried to stop him, but Ji-su left the room.
Won-hyeop followed leisurely with his hands in his pockets. Ji-su walked down the long hallway with unsteady steps, and because the pajamas were too large, the hem of the pants dragged on the floor.
Won-hyeop followed Ji-su and stood before the laundry room door.
“See that shelf over there?”
The clothes that the Housekeeper would wash first upon arriving tomorrow morning were in the basket on the shelf.
Ji-su found his t-shirt and pants and quickly took them out. Holding the crumpled bundle in his arms, he searched for his underwear and socks, but they were nowhere to be seen. So he turned to Won-hyeop and asked.
“What about my… underwear and socks?”
Won-hyeop answered in a voice that sounded like a sneer.
“They were damp from pee, so I threw them away.”
Ji-su couldn’t respond and tightly gripped the clothes in his arms. He was afraid Gyeong-jin would follow him and urge him to be admitted, but amidst that, he felt a wave of shame. He was humiliated that he had peed in front of Won-hyeop. He couldn’t even be sure that Won-hyeop had simply changed his clothes. All sorts of ominous suspicions crossed his mind.
As Cookie approached the door and peeked in, Won-hyeop muttered, pretending to talk to the dog.
“Disgusting, that he’s actually wearing those clothes again.”
Just then, Cookie suddenly approached Ji-su and bit the clothes in his hand, pulling them. Startled, Ji-su pulled back hard, but Cookie wouldn’t let go.
Ji-su staggered as if he were about to fall and spoke urgently.
“Stop it!”
Cookie pulled as if trying to steal the clothes entirely. Fearing the clothes would tear, Ji-su held on tight with both hands and resisted.
“These are my clothes…!”
In the process, he accidentally hit the shelf behind him with his elbow. Four diffusers sitting on the shelf fell to the floor and shattered completely.
Only one had its lid open, but because all four broke, a suffocatingly strong floral scent spread throughout the laundry room. As glass shards flew everywhere, Cookie let go of the clothes and backed away, and Ji-su shrank back in surprise.
Only Won-hyeop remained composed.
“Breaking everything in someone else’s house, aren’t we?”
A green cactus plushie rolled out from among the bundle of clothes in Ji-su’s hand. Cookie quickly grabbed the plushie in its mouth and looked up at Ji-su.
Only then did Ji-su realize he had been holding Cookie’s toy. But he had no time to feel sorry. The pungent scent made it hard to breathe, and the floor was a mess of glass shards. Feeling apologetic, he stammered an apology to Won-hyeop.
“I-I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”
However, Won-hyeop ignored him and pointed to the cactus plushie.
“That’s Cookie’s favorite toy.”
The diffusers Ji-su had broken were quite expensive for mere diffusers. They were limited edition products from a famous perfume brand and had been received as gifts. A set of four was priced at a level where an average employee of a small-to-medium enterprise would have to spend their entire monthly salary. Anyone who heard the price would be shocked and ask if they were sprinkled with gold dust.
“Every time he bites and pops one, I replace it with the same one. That must be the tenth or eleventh one.”
Won-hyeop pulled out a broom and dustpan from behind the laundry room door. He also took a towel from a drawer. It wasn’t meant for cleaning the floor, but intending to use and discard it, he pushed it with his foot to wipe the floor. Though he had never once swept on his own since moving into this house, he skillfully swept up the glass fragments.
Standing still like a scolded child, Ji-su spoke in a tiny voice.
“I’ll do it…”
Finding the way he was cautiously gauging the mood cute, Won-hyeop spoke with feigned sternness.
“You’ll get hurt. Just stay still.”
Gyeong-jin’s voice could be heard from beyond the hallway. He seemed to be talking to Jang-ho in the room.
Won-hyeop poked his head out into the hallway, looked toward the room, and then spoke quietly to Ji-su.
“You don’t want to be admitted, right?”
Won-hyeop had stolen the house key from Ji-su’s pocket while washing him and had identified his address by checking his ID card. While Ji-su was asleep, he had searched online and found some shabby villa. It didn’t matter if it was just the registered address and he actually lived elsewhere. Since he had lost his house key, Ji-su would eventually have to contact him again. Finding his actual residence was only a matter of time.
“Tell him you’ll do outpatient treatment. Say you’ll go to the hospital tomorrow morning.”
“…”
“And sleep here tonight.”
Won-hyeop spoke as if tempting him, but that wasn’t the answer Ji-su wanted.
“The hospital is fine… I’m sorry, but I’ll change my clothes here…”
Ji-su spread out the clothes, wondering if there were any other cactus plushies. The t-shirt was wrinkled, and the pants were damp in places. He felt so pathetic he wanted to die, and tears welled up.
He tried to hold them back, but tears shimmered in his eyes. However, his desire to return home [Read on Read BL Novels]was desperate. He had no time to cry.
“Are you really going to wear those clothes that reek of pee?”
Won-hyeop frowned as if disgusted. As his expression hardened, his gaze became sharp.
That was what he feared; Ji-su avoided eye contact and nodded his head. Then, with tears welling up, he summoned his courage and spoke.
“Please… move… out of the way….”
Won-hyeop shrugged and swept the floor.
“Don’t be so shy. Just change.”
Wiping away a tear that had fallen onto his cheek, Ji-su did not ask again. He knew that taking off his pajamas would leave him naked, but he didn’t want to argue with Won-hyeop.
In a hurry, he stepped behind the laundry room door. Instead of unbuttoning his top, he pulled it over his head and put on the T-shirt. Even though Won-hyeop was watching from behind the door, Ji-su stood with his back turned and took off his pants. Since he wasn’t wearing underwear, his bare buttocks were fully exposed.
Won-hyeop whistled, and Ji-su wept silently as he pulled on his pants. But before he could pull them all the way up, Won-hyeop squeezed the flesh beneath his buttocks. Then, as if he had done nothing, he went back to cleaning the floor.
Tears plummeted to his feet.
“…The diffuser… hic, ugh… I’ll pay you back for it….”
Having finished dressing, Ji-su stepped out from [visit our site][unauthorized copy]behind the door in an awkward posture and sobbed sorrowfully.
“I don’t need it.”
Ji-su stifled the sobs escaping through his teeth. He left the pajamas on the shelf and bowed his head toward Won-hyeop.
“…Thank, hic, you….”
As he left the laundry room, Cookie followed closely behind. He walked quickly down the hallway, and as he passed Won-hyeop’s room, Gyeong-jin rushed out.
“Patient!”
But Ji-su did not look back. In his terror that he might be dragged back to the hospital, he forgot the pain in his shoulders and shins.
As he reached the entrance and put on his shoes, Cookie, who had followed him, stood by the door and watched. The cactus doll was still in its mouth.
“I didn’t know the, ugh, hic… the doll was caught between the clothes, I’m sorry….”
He saw Won-hyeop at the end of the hallway. He was standing still, looking this way. With a smiling face.
Opening the front door and crossing the yard as if escaping, a piece of plastic caught his eye in a corner of the yard. It was a translucent plastic sheet that looked useful for wrapping bulky items. In a split-second decision, he grabbed the plastic, hurriedly opened the main gate, and left. He covered his buttocks with the plastic and walked down the road.
Fortunately, he saw a taxi turning the corner of the alley and quickly hailed it. A wave of sorrow hit him at the thought of the taxi fare. He hadn’t taken a taxi once in the last seven years to save money.
As he climbed into the taxi with the plastic against his buttocks, the driver looked at him as if he were [Read on Read BL Novels]seeing a ghost. The driver wasn’t looking at the plastic, but at his body, which was as gaunt as a mummy.
Aware of this, Ji-su curled his body up, gave the home address, and explained the situation.
“…My pants are dirty, so I’ll sit like this….”
The taxi driver replied in a flustered voice, “Go ahead.”
During the ride home, Ji-su sobbed incessantly, wiping his cheeks with his sleeve. Upon arriving in front of his house, he paid the fare with his head hanging low and got out. His eyes were swollen from crying, and his cheeks were bright red.
He intended to throw the plastic in the recycling area in front of the villa, but someone was standing there smoking. Despite the high heels, the short pleated skirt, and the long hair, Ji-su recognized instantly that it wasn’t a woman. It was a man who lived on the first floor. He didn’t know the man’s name or age, but he had seen him wearing a wig and women’s clothes several times. He was the only smoker in the villa. Since they never greeted each other even when they crossed paths, Ji-su pretended not to see the man, threw away the plastic, and entered the villa.
As he climbed the stairs, he fumbled through his pants pockets, but his keys were gone. A sense of despair washed over him at the thought that he had left them at Won-hyeop’s house. Fortunately, he had a separate master key. Since he was the only one in the villa who didn’t use a digital door lock, he was the only one who used a master key.
He went up to the fifth floor, retrieved it from its usual hiding spot, and headed back down, but the Housekeeper from the fourth floor suddenly opened her front door.
“You’re back now?”
Ji-su quickly covered his wet thighs with both hands. Fortunately, the stairs were dim and the jeans were a dark color, so the Housekeeper didn’t notice the wet patches.
“I knocked earlier to give you this, but you weren’t here.”
The Housekeeper held out a lukewarm iced tea. Then, seeing Ji-su’s red eyes, she asked in surprise.
“Is something wrong?”
Ji-su dropped his head to hide his face. “No,” he answered, squeezing out the word.
“I don’t know what happened, but drink this and cheer up. Min-jun asked for a sip earlier, so I gave him some, but he didn’t touch the straw, so it’s clean.”
The Housekeeper forced the iced tea into his hand, and Ji-su bowed his head deeper and said,
“……Thank you.”
“If you’re asked to clean again later, could you do a good job?”
From inside the house, the sound of someone stomping their feet and screaming “Mom!” could be heard. The Housekeeper hurried back inside.
Ji-su went downstairs, opened the front door with the master key, and entered. When he turned on the living room light, three cockroaches crawling in front of the kitchen scurried under the sink.
He left the iced tea in the kitchen and went out to the veranda. There were cockroaches on the veranda too, but he ignored them and approached the storage area. Rummaging through the clutter, he found a tent rope he had picked up from the recycling center long ago.
He went back into the living room, looked around, and headed toward a wall where a thick nail was driven in. It was where a wall clock had once hung. After gauging the height by looking up, he brought a chair and stepped up onto it.
Sobbing, he wrapped the rope around the nail and then wound it around his neck in the same way. With his cheeks soaked in tears, he set his posture. As he kicked the chair away, his body dangled in the air, and his neck was strangled.
“Ack…!”
Tremendous pressure was applied to his face, and seizure-like spasms erupted throughout [Read on Read BL Novels]his body. Unable to breathe, he grabbed the tent [unauthorized copy]rope with trembling hands. In that moment, the knot he had tied loosened weakly.
Falling with a thud to the floor, Ji-su clutched his neck and coughed. Heat rushed to the crown of his head, and his entire spine tingled. He struggled to sit up, but his buttocks, which had hit the floor during the fall, hurt terribly. Perhaps because of the strangulation, his face felt swollen as if he had been severely beaten.
“Hic, uuuugh….”
After sobbing loudly, he picked up his phone and went outside. He climbed up to the rooftop of the fifth floor. After firmly closing the rooftop door, he approached the railing. Looking down, the narrow villa alley was clearly visible in every detail. He had come up here two years ago to jump, and he was just as terrified now as he was then. It was uncertain whether he would actually die if he jumped.
Suddenly, he thought of his Noona and Mother.
Right before jumping from the ninth floor of the apartment, what had those two been thinking as they looked down? Had they trembled in fear just as he was now?
His legs gave out, and he crouched on the floor. He rested his forehead on his knees and poured out his tears. It hurt as if a thorn were stuck in his throat, making it difficult to sob openly. He cried until his knees were soaked, then lay on his side with his cheek against the rooftop floor. Tears flowed down his temples.
He didn’t want anyone to see him jump. To do that, he had to jump in the early morning when everyone was asleep. Just as his Noona and Mother had, so that he would be discovered by someone only after his breath had stopped.
