79 – Cypress Mosaic

“The villa… No, no! Not there!”

Elian grabbed Lorenz’s arm. For a moment, his blue eyes flashed with a sharp clarity, as if he had completely regained his senses.

“What do you mean, ‘no’? Do you think you can hold out for an hour until the suppressants arrive?”

“The pharmacy… Let’s go to the nearest pharmacy. If I can buy suppressants there…”

It was a reasonably calm response, but unfortunately, Elian’s idea was not feasible.

“This isn’t something that can be handled with over-the-counter suppressants.”

The blue pupils shattered with despair.

“How… how could this happen…”

Still clutching Lorenz’s arm, Elian shook his head in disbelief.

“I haven’t missed a single day of medication… Not once until now…”

Lorenz had an idea of why such an unpredictable and powerful Heat had suddenly struck Elian. However, he couldn’t confess that to him.

“We’re going to the villa. We’ll settle this there.”

“There are people there… I’d rather just go to Manhattan. We can find a hospital there…”

“If we delay any longer, your nervous system will be ruined!”

Elian dropped his head low. He likely knew that no other solution existed. Yet, the reason stubbornly remaining in a corner of his mind was rejecting the Heat. He wanted to believe he could overcome it with reason, patience, and willpower. It was a truly Beta-like way of thinking. This was a world where most Alphas and Omegas lived believing they were no different from Betas, armed with various pheromone-related medications, including suppressants.

To be in heat.

He probably couldn’t stand feeling like a beast rather than a human.

Covering his face with both hands, Elian shook his head.

“I don’t want… to be seen like this… Why, why is this…”

His murmuring profile looked as if he had fallen into an irredeemable pit of despair.

His lower body drenched in love juice, gasping and intoxicated by pheromones. He might think it would be better to die than to let anyone see him like this. If it were Elian Bellotti, he certainly would.

But Lorenz felt the same way.

“Don’t worry about that.”

He had no intention of sharing the Elian Bellotti currently before him with anyone. Not Joshua, not Vincent, not the Millers—no one.

Crunch. Lorenz crushed the remaining suppressant with his molars and spat out harshly:

“Because I have no intention of letting anyone see you.”

He jerked the steering wheel to make a sharp U-turn.

The quiet exhaust note swelled as if taking a short breath, then roared heavily. Like a bullet fired from a muzzle, the car accelerated and shot forward.

The knuckles of both hands gripping the wheel protruded. The outline [visit our site]of his knuckles was so prominent they looked almost like weapons. His eyes, burning with a green light, stubbornly [visit our site]glared [unauthorized copy]at the darkness ahead. It was a face that had decided something and was prepared for the consequences.

It cannot be resisted.

Just as the direction of a tsunami that has already begun cannot be changed. Just as there is nothing a human can do in the face of an earthquake that shakes and collapses the earth.

He decided not to resist.

After passing through the steel gate once more, the vehicle bypassed the circular driveway in front of the villa and headed down the hill. At the end of the headlights illuminating the riverside, which had since been swallowed by complete darkness, the cabin finally revealed itself.

“We’re here. It’s just ahead.”

A sense of urgency was felt in Lorenz’s voice.

“Just hold on a little longer.”

He had repeated those words several times during the ten-minute drive to reassure Elian.

“Hng, hhh. Hhh…”

Curled up completely with his head hanging low, Elian was trembling piteously. It was closer to a convulsion or a seizure than a mere shiver now.

“I’m not lying this time. Look. Do you see it?”

Elian lifted his head sluggishly, trying to compose his trembling body. His face, consumed by confusion and fear, had lost its usual color and turned pale. It was a symptom caused by his body’s total rejection of the Heat.

Lorenz parked the car haphazardly near the cabin. Grabbing only his phone and scanner, he rushed to the passenger seat. He helped Elian, whose shoulders were wrapped in his jacket, and pulled him out. Elian couldn’t even support himself. It was only natural. Lorenz, who had entered a full Rut state, was only holding on through a miracle of willpower.

“Lean on me.”

As he embraced the staggering Elian, the powerless body slid right into his arms. Even so, Elian struggled desperately to stay upright on his own knees.

“There’s no need for pride.”

“Hng.”

“You’re practically a patient right now. Is it bad for a patient to rely on someone else?”

Lorenz didn’t wait for Elian’s answer. He wrapped both arms firmly around the thin [stolen content]back and waist, lifting him up and practically slinging him over his unauthorized copyshoulder. Moving him this way seemed faster.

The moment he was in full contact with Elian, his vision blurred for a second.

It felt as if a whip of pheromones had struck his back with full force.

He had to stand still for a moment to clear his mind so as not to drop the person he was carrying.

He had described Elian as a patient, but if these symptoms were a disease, Lorenz was in a critical state as well. Despite chewing and swallowing an entire bottle of suppressants on the way, the medicine had provided no effect.

Just to the cabin. Just get to the cabin somehow.

He had endured like a man betting his life on that single thought.

The interior was comfortably arranged. It looked as if someone had used it as recently as this morning.

Taking Elian to the bed, he carefully lowered the trembling body onto the sheets. Even though he knew the shaking wasn’t from the cold, Elian clung tightly to Lorenz’s jacket draped over his shoulders, refusing to let go. As if he were terrified that someone might take it away.

In that case, I can’t say this particular worry is groundless.

Lorenz smiled bitterly to himself as he scanned his own face.

He semi-forcibly took the jacket back from the resisting Elian. When he tried to remove the coat he was wearing, the resistance grew stronger.

“I’ll… just keep it on.”

“Keep it on? We’re indoors.”

“I’m cold… it’s because I’m cold.”

“Do you have any idea how much you’re sweating?”

“That’s…”

In the end, Lorenz grabbed him from behind, almost binding him, and stripped off the coat.

“Your whole body must be boiling because of the Heat; there’s no way you’re cold.”

Removing a coat from someone in Heat who couldn’t even control their own body wasn’t particularly difficult.

Without a protective shield to cover him, Elian looked extremely visit our siteanxious. Having no other choice, Lorenz covered his lap with a blanket and unauthorized copyquickly scanned the interior. It was a space more than sufficient to spend a night of Heat and Rut.

“It can’t… be a Heat. Something… is definitely wrong.”

An unstable murmur drifted from behind him.

Lorenz, having already locked the door, replied as he approached the window.

“You triggered a Rut in me. There’s no way it’s not a Heat.”

“But, that’s… impossible. Not a single day…”

“That you didn’t miss a single day of suppressants.”

Interrupting Elian, Lorenz added,

“Yes, I heard you.”

He then closed the curtains tightly. So that no one from the outside could see Elian.

As the curtains fell, the room became even darker. Only the moonlight, like [stolen content]a faint [stolen content]lamp, seeped in weakly.

“Even so, how could a Heat… happen? It doesn’t make sense.”

A voice wanting to deny reality.

Still, even now, unable to completely let go of reason.

When Lorenz turned around to face Elian again, another moon had risen inside the curtained room.

In the dim light, blue eyes drenched in pheromones and fear looked up at him. They were desperate eyes, searching for even a single shred of hope. Hoping he would say it wasn’t a Heat, that he had been mistaken, that it was just a severe flu. Hoping and hoping that he would say that…

How wonderful it would be if he could say what was wished for.

Lorenz slowly approached the bed.

A blue light that remained pure even in the midst of Heat. Golden hair brighter than the seeping moonlight.

There wouldn’t be much time left.

He had to start the Pheromone Exchange immediately. If he didn’t stabilize the nervous and endocrine Read on Read BL Novelssystems, the sense of smell would suffer permanent damage. In severe cases, the aftermath could spread [Read on Read BL Novels]to the central nervous system and affect brain function.

As Lorenz climbed onto the bed, Elian flinched and grew wary. He tried to retreat by scooting his hips backward. But it was useless. In the narrow world of the bed, there was no way for him to escape Lorenz.
