Let’s just give up; this is the limit of my brain anyway. It probably isn’t a big deal.
Exactly three minutes had passed after he closed his eyes and fallen asleep.
‘It’s nothing. He’s just some variant who sprays pheromones around.’
“Gah!”
Bliss bolted upright and shouted as a memory suddenly flashed through his mind like lightning. That’s right! Cassian Strickland!
“I remember!”
Clutching his head with both hands and shouting again, he hurriedly jumped off the bed and ran to the screening room. He rushed to search for Cassian Strickland, and the face of the man he had seen during the day immediately filled the large screen.
“Yes, it is! It’s that bastard!”
Tossing the remote aside and pressing his face close to the screen, he urgently confirmed the man’s identity and shouted repeatedly. No matter how many times he looked, his suspicion only grew into certainty. There was no mistake; it was that guy from back then.
Cassian Strickland. The son of a bitch who dared to insult him and his siblings.
‘One twin is a crazy idiot and the other is a pervert. The one who acts is nicknamed the Mad Dog, so that says it all.’
“You jerk!”
Bliss stood up abruptly, venting his frustration. As the forgotten memories returned all at once, the anger from that time was vividly revived. My god, how could he have forgotten so completely? Even if he wasn’t the brightest, there were things one shouldn’t forget. To have completely wiped that memory away!
Moreover, the man had even deceived Bliss by pretending to be kind. All while thinking of him as a ‘snot-nosed Yankee’ internally. Shameless bastard. Fraud!
“I won’t forgive you.”
It was very late, but he had to pay him back now. The number one sexiest bachelor? What a joke! He’s the number one most despicable bachelor. Bliss gritted his teeth and glared at the man on the screen.
“I will make sure you pay for your sins.”
Reciting the line exactly as an actress had in a drama, he vowed. He would absolutely bring that brazen man to his knees and force an apology out of him.
However, even after several days had passed, Bliss remained lying on his bed with a puffy face. This was troublesome, very troublesome. Despite the passing days, nothing had changed. He had remembered Cassian Strickland’s atrocities and vowed revenge, but in spite of his firm resolve, no plausible method had come to mind.
“Why am I so stupid!”
Bliss vented his frustration by pounding his fists against the mattress. His Daddy, Ashley Miller, was the manager and lawyer of the most famous law firm in the US and was currently a politician. His Papa, Conor Niles—Koi—had entered university late due to his home environment, but he was a figure who showed outstanding prominence in the field of astronomy.
And it wasn’t just his parents. His eldest brother, Nathaniel, was smart enough to inherit the law firm from Ashley, and Grayson, who was mocked as a ‘crazy idiot,’ mostly lived off his family but also held a law license. Stacy, who was called a ‘pervert,’ was a Mensa member, and ‘Mad Dog’ Chase and the ‘one I don’t even want to mention’ Larien were prodigies who had swept all sorts of competition awards since childhood.
Then why was he the only one in this state?
Bliss buried his face in the bed, lamenting deeply. Unlike his other siblings, his grades were not good. Throughout school, his average GPA hovered between a B and a C; there was only one time, in his first year, when he received an A for a poem, and everyone had been so happy they ate a celebratory cake. Of course, he never saw another A after that. Because he had no interest in studying, he didn’t go to college, and his family accepted this as natural.
‘You don’t have to do anything.’
Even when everyone said that, he didn’t feel slighted. Spending every day playing and eating while watching his favorite dramas wasn’t that bad, and above all, Grayson lived that way too.
He had never once felt frustrated or depressed because he wasn’t as smart as his family. When there are many siblings, there’s bound to be one who is a bit slower. It was practically a law of nature that applied everywhere. What did it matter if that was him? Regardless, Bliss was Bliss, and that was enough.
He had actually worried about it when he was young. Above all, since he was the only one among his siblings with a different trait, his eye color was different, and he often reacted violently or got angry whenever that was mentioned.
But it was different now. No matter what anyone said, he wasn’t shaken. Even if he was slightly inferior to his siblings, his whole family loved and adored him, and the signature brilliant platinum blonde hair of the Millers and the blue eyes resembling Koi clearly proved that Bliss was related to them by blood.
Wasn’t that enough?
Until now, the only complaints in his life were things like a favorite drama’s next season being canceled, leaving the ending forever unknown. He had never once lamented or resented the fact that he wasn’t smart…
“Ugh, so frustrating! So frustrating!”
Bliss rolled around on the bed again, filled with indignation. Wasn’t there some good way? Something that could let him trample that handsome face…!
He had to think of something, no matter what.
Unable to contain his anger, Bliss gnawed on his thumb.
From what he had looked into over the past few days, Cassian’s reputation was unexpectedly not bad. No scandals or suspicions had emerged; instead, the articles were full of heartwarming stories, from donating to the poor, to the rigorous training he underwent when he volunteered for the Air Force, to leading environmental movements and providing massive support for endangered animals and plants.
Shameless fraud. Everyone is being fooled by that bastard.
But Bliss would not be fooled. Above all, hadn’t he already been severely wronged by a man who was different on the inside than on the outside? Bliss knew better than anyone what kind of man Cassian Strickland was.
Therefore, I am the only one who can punish that man.
He clenched his fist of justice, but…
Unfortunately, the reality was that he was nothing more than an unintelligent unemployed man raising his fist atop a bed in the corner of a room.
“Auuu! Just work, work! You stupid head.”
Even as he pounded his innocent head, he felt nothing but pain.
“Ow, it hurts.”
Eventually, Bliss let out a groan, wrapped his head in his arms, and curled up on the bed. After remaining motionless for a while, he suddenly snapped his head up.
Right, it’s impossible with my brain.
Bliss quickly acknowledged his limits. In times like this, there was only one way: getting help from someone else. To contact the face that first came to mind, Bliss hurriedly searched for his phone. The ringing started soon, but it didn’t stop for a long time.
What is this unemployed guy doing.
Bliss anxiously waited for the other person to pick up, chewing on his thumbnail. However, making a mockery of his tedious and anxious wait, the ringing changed to a mechanical voice stating that the party was unavailable and could not take the call.
This bastard!
Anger surged within him, but giving up here was absolutely out of the question. Choosing to call back instead of leaving a voice message, he repeated the same action several times. Let’s see who wins. Eventually, as if exhausted by the persistently ringing bell, the other person answered.
—Who is it, you crazy fuck.
“It’s me, Grayson. It’s Bliss.”
Bliss answered immediately to the rough cursing. A moment of silence followed. Perhaps because the drowsiness hadn’t worn off yet, Grayson didn’t react for a while, then asked again in a still-half-asleep voice.
—Who?
Bliss took a deep breath and poured out his words rapidly.
“It’s Bliss. Hi, how have you been? Everything okay? I have something I want to discuss with you.”
As he had expected, the response was not very good. Grayson let out a groan and muttered as if talking to himself.
—Fuck, discuss what… damn it, this goddamn Bliss. It’s not even 10 o’clock yet. Why the hell is it me.
The answer was already decided. Bliss spoke honestly.
