“Do you need anything?”
Still in a stiff voice, Yu-jin had no choice but to say no and step back. His face, after closing the door, was distorted with disappointment. It was impossible to go to his daughter’s room like this. The maid was ready to stand there all night and guard the front of the door. He didn’t know whether it was the Butler or Mrs. Campbell who had given the maid those instructions, but the intention was clear.
“Damn it!”
Yu-jin cursed under his breath. Angela would have opened her eyes wide and been surprised if she had heard him, but conversely, if he had been with the child, he wouldn’t have had any reason to curse.
He wanted to run out and stay by his daughter’s side right away, but his feet wouldn’t move easily. Maybe that’s what they want. Yu-jin bit his nails and paced anxiously in the same spot. If he was dragged out of the mansion for even a minor reason, the situation would get worse. He knew very well that he only had one option. As the memories he had barely forgotten resurfaced, his whole body trembled involuntarily.
The people who despised him, the people who grabbed his arms and legs from all sides and forcibly dragged him out of the mansion and threw him out, and.
Even the purple eyes that were blackened with anger and contempt towards him.
Yu-jin, startled by the memory that had resurfaced as vividly as if it had happened just yesterday, closed his eyes and tried to forcibly ignore the fear that was coming to him again.
I have no choice but to do as they say.
He was furious at his powerlessness, but the reality was cold. The small sense of victory he had felt a little while ago had completely disappeared in the face of the situation where he had once again been defeated by their methods.
I’m still…….
At the momentary sense of powerlessness, he hurriedly shook his head. Get a grip, this is not the time to sit down helplessly. He scolded himself and forcibly recalled the child’s face.
I can see her in the morning.
All they can do are these childish tricks. Since they want me anyway, they won’t harm Angela.
Yu-jin turned around, comforting himself in that way. Only then did the scenery of the room come into view, and he unconsciously stopped moving.
It was a huge and luxurious room that couldn’t even be compared to the room he had come out of after putting the child to sleep. The spacious interior, with a separate living room connected to it, was larger than the entire house where Yu-jin lived with the child. The ceiling was so high that he had to crane his neck to look up, and a work by a famous painter was hung on the wall of the bedroom in a huge frame. Beyond the huge glass window that occupied one side of the bedroom, he could see a large terrace with a marble floor, and there was a round table and chairs in the area that was connected to the living room, so it seemed like he could drink tea and enjoy the scenery of the house and the wide-open view at any time.
It was so dumbfounding that they would give such a luxurious room to Yu-jin. Is it on purpose? My daughter is staying in such a shabby room, but I’m staying in such a nice room, so am I supposed to feel guilty?
If that was the purpose, then they succeeded this time. The insults he had endured so far had not had any impact on him, but things were different when it came to his daughter. After returning to Delight, Yu-jin was deeply hurt for the first time. He let out a sigh as if he was groaning unconsciously, and then stood there blankly for a while before slowly taking a step. When he opened the glass door leading to the terrace and confirmed the scenery that unfolded in his view with his eyes, an involuntary exclamation of regret escaped him.
How happy would it be to have breakfast here with Angela.
Lost in happy imagination, Yu-jin was momentarily dazed by longing and guilt for his daughter, but he soon shook his head. They will be leaving here soon. This is not the time to be lost in absurd delusions. He has to stay alert. He has no idea what kind of events they have prepared for Yu-jin.Yu-jin hardened his expression again and hurriedly took off his clothes. He needed to rest first. As soon as it was light, he would ask to be guided to Angie’s room. And he would never be separated from his daughter again.
He couldn’t let his guard down until the will was read.
Renewing his resolve, he went straight into the adjoining bathroom. As expected, the massive space that unfolded before his eyes made his shoulders shrink involuntarily. He felt the cool air emanating from the all-marble interior with his whole body and hurriedly turned on the shower.
After adjusting the cold and hot water to a suitable temperature, the tension in his body finally eased. He washed his entire body in the pleasant bathroom, shampooed his hair, and put on the bathrobe that was hanging there. The robe was ridiculously large, and he had to fold the sleeves several times, but the texture was excellent. Yu-jin roughly dried his hair with the dryer and returned to the bedroom.
Ah.
It was then that he realized he had no clothes to change into. It was his fault that he hadn’t brought the luggage he had left in Angela’s room. He had assumed he would naturally return to that room, but it was a naive judgment. If they had intended for him to stay in this room from the beginning, it would have been natural to move his luggage, but that kind of service was only for guests welcomed in this house. In short, those who met the ‘Campbell family’s standards.’ There was no way the Butler or the employees would show such consideration to Yu-jin.
However, he couldn’t call someone to bring his luggage now. He had considered putting his worn clothes back on, but the clothes he had been wearing since dawn were covered in dust, and the thought of putting them back on now that he had just finished showering and was about to lie down on the bed immediately made him feel disgusted.
There was no choice.
Someone would come to wake him up in the morning anyway. He would talk to them then and ask them to bring his luggage. As soon as he changed his clothes, he could go to see Angie. He was bothered by the fact that he wasn’t even wearing underwear, but there was no other option. Yu-jin reluctantly came to a conclusion and climbed onto the bed wearing only the bathrobe.
He couldn’t help but exclaim at the comfort of the softer-than-imagined sheets and mattress. After floundering around on the huge bed and finally settling in the center, he let out a sigh of relief and lay down.
Haa, as soon as he sighed, silence fell instantly. Yu-jin felt a subtle chill at the stillness, where not even the sound of the wind could be heard. He lay still and closed his eyes tightly. Even the sound of his own breathing grated on his ears, so he breathed as slowly and shallowly as possible. He thought he would have trouble falling asleep due to worries about his child and anxiety about the future, but unexpectedly, he fell into a deep sleep before long.
In his dream, he was lying in bed. Like the man lying next to him, Yu-jin was also naked. Lying face to face on the large bed, the two of them were still dazed, intoxicated by the new world they had just experienced together. Seeing Yu-jin, who was breathing heavily with a flushed face, the man asked, suppressing his own rough breaths, “Did it hurt?”
“No,” Yu-jin replied.
“Liar,” he said, but he smiled as if he didn’t dislike Yu-jin’s answer. Yu-jin smiled along with him.
“It hurt a little,” Yu-jin confessed in a small voice.
“Oh, dear.” The man frowned and stroked Yu-jin’s cheek. “I’m sorry, I’m stupidly too big.”
“No.” Yu-jin quietly wrapped his hand, which was as large as the man’s, and whispered softly, “I’ll get used to it.”
As soon as he said the words, he realized what he had said. Both of them were equally surprised, but their reactions were completely different. Yu-jin’s face turned bright red, and the man burst into loud laughter.
As Yu-jin desperately tried to get out of the bed in shame, the man hugged his naked body from behind. Thick arms trapped Yu-jin’s slender body in his embrace. “You’re not going anywhere.” The man kissed Yu-jin’s exposed shoulder and said in a still-laughing voice, “You’re mine now.”
“So are you,” Yu-jin whispered in a small voice. “Yes,” the man replied with a smile.
“I’m yours. From a long time ago, and forever into the future.”
Soon, their lips met. Willingly accepting the weight of the man moving back on top of him, Yu-jin happily embraced him. He vaguely recalled that it would be difficult to feel such perfect fulfillment in his life, either before or after this.
“I love you,”
Yu-jin whispered. The man smiled and tilted his head. As their lips overlapped, he whispered, “My…”
Clang, the heavy sound of metal awakened a corner of his consciousness. Yu-jin’s body stiffened belatedly as he reflexively frowned. He felt suffocated by the heavy air that seemed to press down on his entire body. Lying motionless, he slowly lifted his eyelids. All he could hear was the sound of his own terrified breathing.
The dark room was filled with moonlight streaming in through the large window. The sweet dream vanished in an instant, and a chilling reality crashed down. Only one thing remained unchanged: the body of the large man on top of Yu-jin.
His face, backlit by the faint moonlight, was darkened and difficult to make out. But Yu-jin could clearly tell who this man was. As surely as he could see the cold gun pointed at him. And Yu-jin realized what had awakened him.
The man, who had placed the gun to Yu-jin’s temple and cocked it, whispered in a voice as sweet as sugar, “Welcome, darling.”
Winston Campbell.
His purple eyes gleamed in the darkness. Yu-jin, pale as a sheet, could only stare with wide eyes at the man he had loved so much in the past.
